We stopped in for lunch on our way home because a friend of ours recommended it. He always stopped with his father in law, and enjoyed it. We had the lunch catfish and chicken specials, and both were very good. Our server was very attentive and friendly. Everything was hot and fresh. We had the pulled pork, which was amazing! For the sides we had baked beans (homemade) again delicious. My husband had the homemade cheesy potatoes and loved them. On a "shortcut" from Little Rock to St Louis the other day, passed thru Corning, Arkansas, almost to the Missouri border. It was lunchtime, and the Parkway called out my name. A "meat and three" restaurant, the daily specials include a choice of a couple of entrees and picking three sides from a list of a half dozen or so. I went with the catfish filets, I'd been on a catfish bender this trip, and added fries, slaws, and hush puppies. There was a big slice of onion topping the slaw, not sure of the intent. The fish was crispy and flavorfully seasoned, a very ample serving fries, done perfectly. The slaw was the creamy sweet variety, and I gulped down a gallon of sweet tea as well. Seems like it's a family operation, service was superb and friendly. There's a massive cooler of pie by the cashier, but I didn't imbibe and regretted it for the rest of my afternoon. Had a late lunch at Parkview. Ordered the catfish with slaw and hush puppies. Chose to upgrade French fries to onion rings. Fish was well prepared, not overcooked. Onion rings are made in-house, very good. Slaw was ok, a little sweet. Hush puppies? Well, not too good. Not sure I've ever had a good hush puppy at a restaurant. Usually the batter is too dry and then it's overcooked, resulting in bad puppy. They have a couple of daily specials, a meat and three diner plus burgers, etc. service was fast. read more

we almost didn't come here reading all the bad reviews. We were pleasantly surprised. We came at happy hour the bartender. Dawn was wonderful, made a great gin, tonic, and an amazing lemon drop. Their homemade tortilla chips add salt and pico de gallo yummy. then we have the burger cooked perfectly medium well juicy tasty yummy bacon and the bun was really good. The french fries were absolutely delicious roast thin, crunchy, kind that you love from McDonald's but you have to hope for at a nice restaurant. honestly, it was lovely staying here at the hotel walking downstairs having a lovely dinner and drinks. We had a beautiful booth. They were so kind of making sure they put the shade down during the sunny hours of the afternoon. It was a great experience so glad we didn't go somewhere else. read more

Good selection of all American fare. Barbecue pork sandwich with coleslaw was good. Ordered sides of American fries and okra. Was not expecting fried okra, but I still love that stuff. This restaurant earns my award For the most potato options I've ever seen. Bravo. American fries were hot and golden brown. This review is for the breakfast only since that is all I have eaten here. I have stopped several times on my way through to St. Louis. It has always been great. A time or two the biscuits have been held to long and kind of dry. Probably cause I got there just in time before they stopped serving breakfast at 10:30 AM. They do know how to fry eggs the way you ask for them. Love the old cafe diner type atmosphere in the section with bar stools. Hard to find these type places anymore. Nice to sit there and have coffee and watch the activity. Would have given 5 stars but they don't make their gravy from scratch. I have tried the pies. They are quite good. read more

First bathrooms were filthy second waitress was rude myself my wife my granddaughter and my daughter eating here for the first time we asked for tuna sandwich no tuna salad it's out of season They asked for chicken salad sandwich no chicken salads out of season also. Granddaughter has gluten allergy asked for no hush puppies with the catfish and no gravy on the mashed potatoes well on a plate there is both hush puppies and gravy on the mashed potatoes when the rate dress brought back a second plate so she could move the food she didn't want as the waitress did was roll her eyes like she was nothing but a bitch. If I was starving I would go next-door to Casey's General store for better service and better food read more

Country fried steak is delicious. Cherry cheesecake if creamy and yummy! Service is excellent. Great place to eat.

I had a club sandwich, it was ok. My mom had a tuna sandwich, it was ok. My dad had one of the specials. It was supposed to be Swiss steak. It was a frozen soy pattie with canned spaghetti sauce on top and very salty, nasty. the tomatoe and cole slaw that came with the meal was good. The lemon tarte was just squares of pie crust with canned lemon pie filling and opposite corners turned in and baked. This was a very poor restaurant.
