Riverside has a program for free shade trees every year if you turn in the Green April utilities statement (usually they're blue), and Park View is one of the participating nurseries. Over the years I've picked up bushes, herbs, flowers bushes, and free trees. This year i liked the sapling for a Flowering Plum Tree (no fruit despite the name). I also like the convenient location, and that there's a large lot across the street with a vast selection over and above the main area. Prices are reasonable and the staff are helpful with selection and care tips, too. Additionally, they have all the tools and plant food you can possibly want. read more

So I think it's time to update my review here. Good businesses stand the test of time. I tell you I just had an experience that I needed a particular root stock on a plum tree I wanted to plant in the backyard. I had called the nursery that is located about seven minutes from my house. It's not Parkview. I asked them if they had the particular root stock and tree in stock. Their response basically was we have that variety of tree Santa Rosa plum but we don't know what route stocks we have. I said can you look and tell me. Their answer was no if you want to see you can come down and look. After hanging up the phone and disbelief, I called Parkview nursery on Chicago Avenue and again I got the outstanding service that I'm used to there. I told the gentleman who answered the phone what I was looking for he said let him check. He came back in about a minute and told me that they had that rootstock, but asked me why I wanted that particular type of rootstock. I explained to my situation and the type of soil and he recommended a better root stock that I was not familiar with. I had even gone on the Dave Wilson Nursery the supplier of fruit trees and it didn't catch my attention. He was absolutely right the root stock that he recommended was 100 times better and they also had that in stock. Needless to say, I got in my car drove the 35 minutes. It was greeted with outstanding customer service by every employee I ran into. If you are looking for a true outstanding nursery, this is the place to come. They have caring employees who really want your landscaping/gardening adventure to be successful. read more

The park view nursery is a great location to buy garden goodies. There's also a separate area across the street so make sure to check that out. Everything you need for gardening! Over the years we've gotten a few trees peach, avocado, persimmon, guava and a blueberry bush. They have wonderful staff here to help with any questions or guidance. Pricing is compatible and the annual shade tree offer is definitely a perk. $35 towards any tree usually comes out around April every year. read more

Always a great selection. Knowledgeable people available to help. I have been shopping here for years. My favorite place for plants and garden veggies. read more

Been coming to this nursery for a couple of years, the vegetables starts are great, they're strong and strive well in my garden. Theres a guy who tends to the outdoor garden, I didn't know his name but he's very kind and always so helpful. Good selection of stuff, wish they would carry some San Diego seed company seeds though, would save me a trip to another nursery. Prices are fair, much better outcomes than going to the big box stores. I've also bought bulk soil which they delivered for $75. Bought 4 cubic yards of the premium potting soil, it's so worth it. Delivery guy was nice, super fast and easy drop process. read more

I woke up this morning and was like "I need to walk through the rose garden at the nursery". Instantly got up and went down the street. It is so so close to my neighborhood (Canyon Crest). I haven't been in years and oh my goodness, they have expanded!! Such a huge & oh so beautiful selection of plants and flowers to walk around in through the garden. It's so perfect and peaceful. Heading to the inside area, they have the most planters and pots I have ever seen. Size & color. So perfect. Inside where you cash out, they also have a lot of products and there as well. Including supplies and indoor plants. My favorite section inside was the wild bird feed & hummingbird water which is great to fill my feeders on my balcony. People working were very attentive. Was greeted nicely and asked if I needed any help as soon as I arrived. I was just strolling today but will definitely be back with questions about new plants because wow! Outside, there was plants I've never heard of! They also have a section with all food bearing plants!! & also, biggest cactus I've ever seen in person!! Felt like a kid in a candy store. Will definitely be back. read more

The service is amazing, called before heading their way, if they had a plant I was looking for and in fact they had several selections that I was looking for didn't know they carried different plants. Bought mine for a fair price I can say. My go to place to go for plants read more

Stopped by here after a not-so-good experience at their other location. The staff was super friendly and offered a smile as soon as we walked in. We had a staff ask us if we needed anything and he helped quickly guide us towards what we were looking for. The girl at the register was extremely friendly and helpful at checkout. She gave us information on other tree programs in the city. We went home with a new tree for the backyard! read more

Nice selection of plants and gardening supplies including bulk soil. Picked up a yd of topsoil but disappointed in that there is no beneficial organic matter. I wish they had spoken up first. What is termed as topsoil elsewhere is not what was delivered. We purchased trees, bare root rises, seeds and flower from Park View. Will need good fertile soil to add to our planters next. read more

This is one of my go-to places for my gardening needs; they have a great selection of seeds, starters and soil. The staff is very helpful. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Like most things over the years, their prices have gotten pricey. But their selection has also gone down a little bit with the quality of plants that they produce. I used to enjoy coming here for all my needs, but I think I'll start looking around to other places as they don't offer as as much as they used to. read more

The best nursery by far! Selection: Every time I visit, they always have a big variety of plants: veggies, herbs, etc.... I have bought mulch and most recently, 10 yards of rocks to be delivered. Customer Service: The customer service is fantastic! They accommodated to my schedule, they rescheduled when I needed it and they came on a second trip in short notice! Price: The prices are competitive to other nurseries, but I did find that the rock prices were lower than other places I called and the delivery fee was definitely better than the business down the street from my house. Hours: Open 7 days a week! read more

I love this nursery for any plant needs! Good prices and helpful service. I always go for the Fox Farms Ocean Forest potting soil. I've even purchased a couple plumeria varieties from this location! read more

I love the products that I have gotten from Parkview. My boyfriend and I stopped by after I told him to turn around so we can check it out as we were heading to a Walmart in the area. In the lot across the street, they had some roses and trees as well as a holding area for plants already paid for/reserved. But on the main side, they had various pots, herbs, succulents, and more to look through. I wasn't planning to buy any plants, but I was super excited to find they had various Medusa plants there! I had bought two online, but being able to see them in person was awesome! I ended up grabbing one with thick leaves and convinced another shopper to cave in and finally buy one for herself too. My boyfriend ended up getting two cacti for himself as well before heading to the checkout area. We did run into an employee that wanted to help pick out a container for my boyfriend's cacti, but we passed on the offer. Check out was fast since there was only one customer in front of us and the cashier was kind enough to give us a small box to put all our plants in. Definitely would come back, even though it's a long drive from the LA area :) read more

Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Love the variety of plants and recommendations that they provide. All my plants are thriving.

I love going to different nurseries. I wouldn't say this one is my favorite. You can occasionally find some hidden gems here if you're looking for outdoor plants. Their indoor selection is not big at all. They have very limited indoor items. Before going, I thought they'd have at least a little more variety. A lot of the plants they have are not very well kept. I got a beautiful Camilla from them and I wanted another. I came back asking them about that specific Camilla but literally none of the workers that I asked had any idea what I was talking about. They kept telling me each plant was labeled but when I finally got them to walk over with me to where the Camilla's were they saw that very few were labeled. To add on, the employees are not the most helpful. I found that the ones I talked to at least weren't super knowledgeable. They didn't know much about the plants they were selling or certain plants that I asked about. Like any other nursery, you can definitely find some hidden gems. I stop by randomly; I recommend you pay attention when you're there so you don't miss out on the hidden beauties. Sometimes it's plants other times it's pots and decor. Happy planting!! read more

Parkview Nursery - Canyon Crest - Japanese Camellia - Nurseries & Gardening Near Me - Riverside, California

This nursery had a good section of outdoor plants and pots. They still had a lot of veggie varieties compared to some of the other nurseries I've been to during peak summer heat. They also had a section of native plants which I find to be helpful since those varieties grow well in our area. I've been looking for small marigolds in 4-6 packs since my local Home Depot and nurseries hasn't had them in months and I was able to find them here. The house plant section is kind of small and none of the plants really stood out to me (I have a lot of house plants though). They carry bulk mulch and gravel; they do free local delivery in the city of Riverside but there's a charge for other surrounding cities. I'm looking forward to coming back in the fall to see what their selection will be like! read more
