I've enjoyed the Parkside Public restaurant on several occasions over the last 3+ years. I love the draft beer choices, the great inventive burger compilations, the homemade chips, and have even enjoyed the turkey burger and a salad on an occasion. Cool old building. My 3 star rating stems from my last visit, where the burger patty seemed a little too small and perfectly formed - just didn't have that fresh patted out loose beef feel. I've also had a single horrendous service experience - an early afternoon late lunch with 5 girls, who arrived in 3 waves. It probably took him 15 minutes to actually get everyone a single beverage, and we had to ask him to please take our food order before he wandered away again. Food was good but our server never checked back in - no beverage refills, no pick up of used plates. As we were going to sit and enjoy a few birthday gifts after lunch, I actually bussed our table and carried the dirties up to the bar. Places where I bus my own table definitely don't rate so well! It's also made me hesitant to pop into there before theater or appointments, because I don't know how slow the service will be. I'm sure I'll be back on occasion, but with Big Orange down the road, they may have to spiff up their burger patties a bit to keep in the hunt. And an better eye on service would benefit as well. read more

I will definitely be back! Not sure why I haven't been here before? It is in the downtown Rogers area. Prices are a little high (around $10 for burger and chips). Great place for lunch but I think it would be an even better place for dinner and drinks. They have a nice bar area and booths as well. Love the vibe in this place. So This was my second visit. Cute little downtown vibe. With interesting wall decor. I tried the Arkie 2 which is a chili burger covered with chili and melted cheese. Critic to the chili there was too many beans and not enough chili to make the burger sloppy. I usually prepare to eat a chili burger with a fork. I asked for extra onion which I assumed would be chopped. What I got instead was an extra red onion ring. (Which they charged me .50 for). Not the best chili burger and I would probably never order again. I would perhaps try something different on the menu. Food 4 stars Service 2 stars There is nothing more frustrating than an establishment with really good food, a cool vibe, but has staff members that take patrons for granted. My family decided to come to Parkside at 1pm on a Saturday to celebrate my wife's birthday. We had to wait to be greeted, however we were give a table quickly. Our waitress took our order quickly and with a smile. However, that is when the experience went sideways. We waited and waited for lunch to be delivered for more than a half an hour. Finally, we asked our waitress what was wrong (we had another engagement to attend and one of our members needed to get home). She explained it was a shift change and the tickets were piled up in kitchen. That is understandable. However, no apology about our experience. At last (50 minutes), our food was delivered by a staff member and practically thrown on our table compete with a frown and an attitude. My FIL stated, "it sure took a long time". He sarcastically responded, "Everyone is getting their food late!" and stormed off. Again.. no apology complete with a F you attitude. Our waitress did come over to ask how was the food. It was fine despite being very cold. Again a list of excuses for the slow service. Never once during our hour and half lunch were dishes or glasses ever removed from our table either. We brought up the attitude of the employee and she said we will make things correct. They did take some items off the bill and we do appreciate the gesture. However, never an apology for making my wife's birthday lunch a stressful event. It's unfortunate because we have had great meals at Parkside. I originally chalked it up to a bad day. However, after reading reviews about this restaurant I noticed this is a common problem during shift changes. We will give them one chance... however, if we experience the same issues... there are plenty of other choices in downtown Rogers. read more

Zero stars. Came in on a Saturday morning, three of us. Two are hard of hearing. There was one other couple in the place, about the same age as my party. Music was AC/DC blasting so loud we couldn't talk. Asked the server if he could have it turned down just a touch...oh, no way, the manager will just turn it back up. Asked anyway, he did turn it down and the manager turned it right back up. We left. Went just down the street to the 1830 House, had an incredibly tasty meal served by people who wanted us there. Dropped $150 on lunch. You could have had that money Parkside if you didn't hate your customers so much. Shame on you. read more

Ate there with a group this week, none of us where impressed. Had the blue cheese burger. Bun fell apart immediately when I picked it up, bacon was tough like jerky, patty was well over cooked and very dry. Totally disappointed as we were hosting guest from out of town that wanted a down town Rogers experience. Service was good, onion rings were tasty. I eat here often. Never had a bad meal not bad service. I was there yesterday when Grace D left her review. They were not playing AC/DC. Yes the music is often loud, it's part of their "schtick" What Grace left out is when she announced her departure from the restaurant she said very loudly "f@ck you" towards the manager, in front of multiple young children. We were so excited to try this place in hopes of finding a great burger without driving to Hugo's in Fayetteville. Unfortunately, we didn't feel it lived up to the hype. Burgers were pretty basic, as were the fries. Service was great though we waited more than 30 minutes to receive our order! The beer selection is nice - wine selection, not so much unless you're a fan of Bota Box wine. The '80s theme was fun and my nephews and niece enjoyed watching the old school on the TVs. How have I not been here before now? First time patrons Was greeted right away at the front door by the host. He ushered us to a great spacious booth but the bar drew our eye. Not many TVs so it's definitely not a sports bar. They have a good collection of craft beer (local, regional and national brands). Menu looks great and diverse. Speciality is burgers and "dirty fries". The menu offered a few salads that all looked great as well. BUT I found this place because I searched for wings so that's what I ordered. I got a half dozen with the Louisiana sauce, which is just buffalo sauce made with Louisiana hot sauce. The wings came out crispy which provided a great texture. Flavor was great; not too much heat but just enough. Blue cheese dressing was just a little runny but very good as well. I'm glad I came here and got them. Girlfriend had a cheese burger. It was fantastic. Patty was thick and tasted fresh. Tots were crispy and perfectly salted. Service was on point. The host became our bartender/server as the entire dining room staff seemed to flow into all the positions as needed. Very cool to see a service team work well like that. Dinning room seats about 60 so space is limited. T was the hottest day of the year and I noticed several box fans around the dining room and got the impression that the a/c in this old building was working as hard as it could. The box fans were perfectly placed and kept us cool with only a slight noticeable breeze. It was nice and not at all warm. Restrooms were very clean and well lit. First time here and I have to say the atmosphere is wonderful!! Love the retro vibe, music and movies on the TV that fit the theme of the bar/ restaurant. Lots of interesting things on the menu makes you want to come back to try them all. I had a Cobb salad and added chicken. This salad was PACKED with meat and it was large enough to take home half. My husband had some kind of loaded hotdog and ordered the garlic and cheese fries we were a bit disappointed that the cheese on the fries was hard by the time the food got to the table. The service was extremely slow. We waited a long time for everything - drink orders, refills and food. The pricing seemed out of range for just getting a burger/sandwich, only. You no longer get chips (or substitute of fries). If you want fries you have to pay extra for a basket. When our food did come out most of it was cold and we sent some back. When we sent the food back, our server never returned. We had to go wait at the hostess stand to get any attention and ask for our check and tell them what's going on. The food was fine but the waiter "forgot to take our order." He also didn't bring waters when we asked the first time. We were stirring for an hour and we STILL did not have our burgers. When he realized he forgot our order he said "oh sorry we'll rush it and it will be out in 15 minutes." We waited another 30 minutes and NOTHING. From the onset the building looks clean, well-renovated and welcoming. The servers were polite and accommodating not pretentious at all. We are from out of town, arrived on a Sunday evening to find many businesses closed. Parkside hit the spot. We had a burger with bacon and peanut butter and ordered it with a side of bbq sauce and the Ozark IPA... it was delicious. We ordered an arugula salad and tater tots. The salad was fresh and fantastic (I love arugula). It should be known that the salad was LARGE. The tater tots were well seasoned with a crispy outside and fluffy center. Two lows: one, a description of the joint said it was a place where they are "spinning records" and we saw lots of vinyl, but none playing. And secondly, the music was great, but too loud. Went there last night for a relatives birthday because he loves their wings. The lady that seated us acted like it was a problem that she had to wipe down a table for us to make a place to sit. The waiter came over and took our drink order and we got our drinks and a couple of appetizers pretty quickly. He then took our full order for 6 people. Then our waiter told us his shift was over and he would be handing our service off to the same woman that seated us. Over an hour later, we asked about our food, but the order was never put in with the kitchen. Similar to other reviews where this happened, there was no apology just a lot of excuses. And finger pointing to say what happened, but they never acknowledged it was a problem. Very disappointing. The food is good. Not great, but good. The wings are generally very crispy, which is one of the main draws of the place. But the service this particular night was absolutely horrible. Order their eponymous burger. So tasty! It was a Friday afternoon, and I'm new in town. I quickly grew tired of the fast food scene. Don't get me wrong, a drive thru comes in handy when time is tight. But today, I had an hour for lunch. I phoned in my order and it was ready in 15 minutes. I was greeted at the host stand, I told them I called ahead, and he asked me to sit at the bar. The chair wasn't even warm when the check, and my order arrived. As I drove back to the office, my mouth started watering as the smell of fries and burger permeated the Town Car. When I settled in and took a bite of that burger, I was pleasantly surprised. That burger had a lot going on. The peppadew pepper and cream cheese, paired with the tasty burger and bun were a match conceived in culinary heaven. Oh yes, I will be back.
