Please reconsider before even looking any further into this doctor. He's out for money and money only. I went in knowing I needed at least 2 crowns, he got me for 3. No big deal. At the end of that appointment out of the blue.... He says oh you need 4 more on the front teeth let's go ahead and do those while you're numb for 7k. Like what?? No where was that in the treatment plan. Also withheld my crowns while waiting for insurance payment after I have already paid. Knowing I was having trouble with the temporary crowns falling off and the bite not correct. While seating my permanent crowns, the doctor showed nothing but frustration and aggression. Made comments about the size of my mouth and other rude unnecessary comments that a professional of this kind should not say. The way he talks to his staff shows how he has no appreciation or patience. His license should be revoked. read more

I've been to a lot of dentists in my life and I can truly say that Dr. Parkinson and his team are the best! My exceptional experience began with the kindness and flexibility I encountered during scheduling. When I arrived for my appointment, I was greeted warmly, I was seen promptly, and the facility was clean and welcoming. Then I noticed how polite the entire team was not only to me but with each other. And everyone on the team was gentle, thorough, and knowledgeable. They ensured that I was informed, comfortable, and didn't have any questions/concerns whether I was getting a cleaning, a cavity filled, or my teeth prepped for a crown. Dr. Parkinson is an expert at his craft of dentistry. I barely felt the needle when I was being numbed and I kid you not, I felt NO pain throughout my visit! And after my visit, Dr. Parkinson met me at the front desk to answer any questions that I had. He even personally called me that evening to ensure that I was doing okay. Would not go to this dentist. What a scam artist. My husband and I both went here and every time we went he said we needed crowns and he was able to fit us in right away to complete it. Both my husband and I fell for it the first time and paid $1500/person to get our crowns. I continued to go for my routine cleanings and every time was told that my teeth were so bad that I needed crowns to prevent a root canal. (Being quoted around $1500). I continued to refuse. After having a bad experience, I finally found another dentist and was told I had no problems with my teeth. The procedure would be completely unnecessary. It's really sad this guy continues to pray on people and take advantage of them. Read the reviews and listen to them. Stay away from this office. read more

ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS DENTIST! I had spoken with him about getting a tooth pulled and possibly replacing it with via a few different options. After doing research, I decided I would go with another dentist for the replacement (that was located across the country), but I still needed a referral to an oral surgeon here locally to have the tooth pulled, and a temporary tooth made in the mean time. When I went back to have X-rays done for the referral, the doctor found out I was having the work done somewhere else and was extremely unprofessional, and refused to give me a referral. I have been a patient for many years and have always been extremely satisfied with Dr Parkinson's care. He is more than careful to insure your comfort and satisfaction. I go to him because he truly adapts to a difficult patient, me. Just today my bridge was inserted and he told me not once but three times if the feeling wasn't perfect when eating to come back in for a adjustment. This is the worst place. Due to the fact that it is family owned and operated they treat their customers like crap. The first time you go you may receive the "fake royal treatment." You they talk nice to you and tell ALL the reasons you should come to them instead of corporate dentists. The second time they will treat you like a number or better yet like pure crap. The front desk manager,Amber,is the worst. The dentist, who is the owner, had no qualms with his staff bring rude. She was his daughter of course. As a matter of fact he didn't even examine my daughter's teeth. When i questioned him on his staff he took his gloves off and said"Goodbye". I asked him if he had any problems with his staff being rude and he blatantly answered, No. The rudeness was mainly due to the fact that I was unable to inconvenience myself and go in an hour early. I stated we very well may be about 5 minutes late. Amber exclaimed,"Well she will not be seen today if she is not on time. l have a child in high school and she needs to be in school as she is a honors student. I am very hard to please dental patient, the hygentist knew immediately proceeded with caution and brought her best, best cleaning ever and you can teach an old dog new tricks. She took her time and explained everything...then Doctor Parkinson brought it...needed to get a crown third dentist who told me but I wouldn't accept. Easy no pain two hours out the door no insurance but painless financing. And after all the positive even got a call in the evening from dr. I wish I could give this place negative stars, because they are not even worthy of 1! From the other reviews it seems this is an ongoing trend with this office. Consumers beware, once they have your credit card number they will charge it freely and claim you missed appointments even though you cancelled them and then make up however many hours they want to charge you for. I was charged $130 and when I called and left not one, not two, but 4 messages, not once did anyone call me back. Every time I have called I got the answering machine and after a couple weeks when I finally did get through I had the pleasure of dealing with Amber, who was not only rude, but argumentative and VERY unprofessional. I have now left two messages for the dentist and he hasn't called me back either. I would guess because either because he thinks its ok and this is why is staff is so hateful or he never got the messages. Its definitely one of the two. My husband and I both had estimates for dental work and after seeing the estimates we decided to get a second opinion and boy am I glad we did. The second opinion was a $1000 less for me and $2,000 less for my husband. Do yourself a favor and definitely get a second opinion, because Arnold & Parkinson is in the business of ripping their patients off. read more

Easy to get an appointment when needed. Staff is mostly friendly and kind. I have a dentist phobia so to go to a new dentist was a fright for me. Dr. Parkinson does a great job, pain free. He is aware of my fear and always does his best to keep me calm. Never an issue with the hygienists and the dental assistants have been great as well. I and several other people I have referred here have been uncomfortable with the fact that each time we go we ALL were told we need crowns. Never happened elsewhere, so seems a bit odd to us. Also, on one of my crowns my insurance denied payment as it not "being necessary". This happens with insurances but what bothered me is no one called me from the office to tell me. When I finally called (about 6 weeks after the prep was done) I was told my crown was there but they were waiting for the insurance to approve payment. Now I had paid my share in full at the first visit so this upset me a bit. After 5 months had passed (with several calls by me to the ins co) and I still didn't have my crown I called the office again and was told if I wanted the crown now (it was a front tooth and I was afraid the temp was going to fall off) that I would have to pay the balance in full. which I decided to do. About a week later the ins. paid. While I asked to get a refund (almost $300). I was told it would take a little while to do that. I never got it. But, lo and behold I needed another crown after breaking a wisdom tooth and the money was applied to that. Ya can't leave patient's hanging in limbo not knowing what is going on...a simple phone call would make all the difference. Oh and they did a panoramic x-ray to send to the oral surgeon because I had to have a wisdom tooth pulled, but they never sent it. The oral surgeon had to do one the day I got there. So all in all, good dental work, prompt service, be prepared to need a crown (lol) but patient information could be better from the business end. read more

I have been using Dr. Parkinson since he was with Dr. Arnold in the Bells Shoals office. Once I learned that he was opening the office in Riverview, I was delighted to move with him to the Riverview office. His professionalism and caring attitude with his patient's is a refreshing change from most doctors today. Money is not the main interest with him. If you don't have insurance, he is willing to work with you on the cost and will take payment plans. The patient comfort seems to be number one with him and his staff. He takes the time to explain your condition and will make sure that all your questions are answered before you leave. My daughter saw Dr. Parkinson today for an estimate on the replacement of an eye tooth. When I called I was told there were different options and to try and apply for Care credit before the apt. This should have been the dead give-away. When she picked me up from work and I asked her how things went she said that she was given an estimate for between 4800.-5000. I nearly choked. I could get a full mouth of dentures for that price and he wanted that for 1 tooth. Must be made of the most valuable alloy in the world. She also said that he was giving her very steep discounts and that it would be normally around 10 grand without. She said that everyone there was sickening sweet and that the Dr. kept pressuring her to have the procedure started right away. When she explained that I would have to apply for the credit he pressured her to call me at work that the whole process would only take 7 minutes. Thank fully she had the smarts to get out of there. This place is a complete rip-off. Maybe he is trying to get the money to take an extended vacation with the family for the holidays. Just feel sorry for the few he is able to dupe. read more
