Parkgrounds is a staple cafe in Reynoldstown. There is ample seating outside under the covered patio or in the yard. Pretty much everything is under shade, so it is very lovely, and dogs are welcome outside. Inside, there are many little couch areas and tables to sit if you'd prefer to be inside, away from the elements. You order at the counter, and then you can either wait for your food and drinks or have a nice employee bring it to you. They do have a selection of alcoholic beverages you're gonna have or all the typical café drinks. I love their chai latte. We like coming here for breakfast and are big fans of the biscuit with bacon, egg, and cheese. It's real bacon, and it's salty, not too salty. They put a ton of cheese on the sandwich and fry the egg perfectly. The biscuit is extra flaky so the combination of all those things make it very lovely sandwich. read more

Service was friendly! There's lots of seating outside, from smaller round tables to picnic tables. I got the turkey sandwich, which was unfortunately a little dry. I got cucumbers and hummus on the side, and the hummus texture was also just a bit drier than what I would prefer. Visited this coffee shop after a Saturday morning Target run. I love that the outdoor area is super dog friendly and they have decaf espresso! I ordered myself a decaf latte with almond milk and an R Town biscuit. The drinks came out pretty fast but had a wait on food. I've never had a biscuit with tomatoes, egg and cheese in it but I enjoyed it actually. I would definitely come back here for more and maybe bring my pup next time. read more

Living with dogs also means living in neighborhoods where dogs are easily accepted at local businesses and there is plentiful space when it comes to parks. Park Grounds is one of those extra dog friendly businesses, but the establishment also tries to balance it by having a covered patio where the furry friends are not allowed. Starting with first impressions, the rusty bike rack and the largely torn up interior create a general emotion of rustic and hipster vibe. The exterior is also quite hard to notice from the street as a non abandoned building. While I am not sure if hipster is even a term these days, I can clearly say that this is a coffee shop for those who prefer a unique atmosphere. Ordering coffee, the folks are very nice and coffee price seems pretty reasonable. Coming out to the patio where dogs are not allowed, there are loose boards and other discarded items, that I would summarize as trash, laying on the left side of it. There are people who were sitting and working there, but it just did not seem like a great place to chill although it was better then the torn up couch inside. Stepping out to the dog friendly patio, there is certainly a smell of dogs everywhere and while the chairs are not particularly clean, there is a gorgeous old tree creating an amazing canopy to sit under while listening to the sound of the birds. In fact, I'd argue that the tree is the main thing making this patio a place where one may want to spend a minute or an hour. Once the latte came out, the staff working here were kind to bring it over and serve it in a mug. The size of the latte was quite small despite ordering regular size and it was filled about 3/4 of the way in the already small mug. Even the foam did not reach near the top. While I do not want to appear stingy, this just seemed odd presentation wise. Perhaps there was a hidden message, but either the price needs to be adjusted or this latte was just not made to the right size. Trying it out, it was hard to describe it as a amazing. The flavor of coffee was fairly subdued and lacked expression, which was strange as I believe they serve CounterCulture fresh ground coffee. Tasting this latte, would have never guessed that. As a whole, the tree canopy creates a wonderful atmosphere and the team working here is kind. It's a small family run business with a single location, trying to give fair prices in todays inflationary world and there is certainly something to be said about that. Park Grounds is a unique spot, in some ways summarizing the culture of Reynoldstown neighborhood. The abandoned house vibe is something that some might see as a flaw, but perhaps others would find it to be part of the appeal. It is certainly not like any other coffee shop. read more

What an awesome little spot to work for an afternoon! After a morning meeting out of the house, I decided to spend the rest of my work day out in the Atlanta sun and stumbled upon ParkGrounds. Nestled on a tight, quiet corner of the neighborhood, you could almost miss this place if you weren't looking. Part cafe-vibes, part park-vibes, this combo was an ideal match for me. As I walked up, I was so excited to see that there was so much space to sit and enjoy the day and ParkGrounds. I should have brought my crazy dog to enjoy it with me! Upon entry into the cafe, it was so intimate and quiet inside. There were a few tables and seating options, including a bar-like area. I was tempted to cozy up inside, but instead, stuck to my guns and headed out back to enjoy my sandwich al fresco. The team member that took my order was super patient and was doing double-duty as she also dropped off my final order to my table. Outside seating was abundant as well, covered and uncovered. My sandwich was good, I may try another item on my next visit but it was still yummy! Paired with their free wifi, it was a nice way to spend a breezy afternoon. My only con? Parking! I've had ParkGrounds on my Yelp bookmarks list for literally years - and now that I finally got a dog... I stopped in during the long weekend to let my dog socialize with other dogs. Also - since my dog didn't have all the proper Bordetella and Listeria vaccines required for Fetch Park at the time (she is now up to date on both, but still haven't been to the snooty park yet) ParkGrounds seemed to be the next best option. Outdoor seating was plentiful - we found a table easily. There were plenty of tables but they filled up quickly since it was a holiday. Everyone was super receptive and friendly with their pups and others. Food & drink options are just. I ordered a latte and the grilled cheese sandwich. The chips that came with it were addicting. The sandwich was hot and cheesy and I was grateful. The latte kept me warm while watching my pup play with other pups and people. I do appreciate an affordable "dog park" that offers coffee and food at a reasonable price while watching unleashed pups enjoy each other's company. Parkgrounds is a really welcoming, cozy, neighborhood spot with great sandwiches and pretty solid coffee. I've been there a couple times for breakfast, and their breakfast sandwiches are awesome. Tons of options including vegetarian ones, and I like that you can choose what your sandwich comes on (english muffin, croissant, or bagel). They're really hearty and filling. The environment is very relaxed, and you won't encounter a stupid long wait like you might at a ~brunch~ place on the weekends. They also have pastries, and beer! My friends and I stayed at an Airbnb a few blocks down the road from ParkGrounds, so we visited here a couple times while we were in town. It's totally unpretentious and very comfortable. The patio is a wonderful space to hang out, and we saw groups of friends with dogs and with babies there at various times when we walked by. The little library inside is also a lot of fun to look at--if not to read from, then at least to judge what people have donated to it. If I lived in the area, I could totally see this being my go-to coffee spot. read more

So glad it's not a dog park anymore! Most of the dog owners didn't pick up after their dogs. Some dog owners are the absolute worst kind of people. You don't want to have a pastry and coffee while be assaulted by poo stank! Now it's just an unassuming, unpretentious, cafe. It's chill. The staff is nice. The atmosphere is that local, laid back environment you'd probably prefer over the angry rush at a Starbucks. Hopefully they will expand on the food menu a bit. Why wouldn't they. They already revamped the place and made it nicer. Hope Reynolds Town appreciates this little nugget. Wish there were more of these joints closer to me in North Decatur. read more

I was really looking forward to checking this place out. When I arrived, I was underwhelmed. It is street parking here, no parking lot. If you come on a rainy day or after it rains, it gets super muddy and wet outside in the dog park. Onto the dog park, they do provide trash can and poop bags. But if your dog is smaller, 20lb or under, the dog can fit through the inner gate and escape. If your dog is less than 10lb, don't come here, the dog would be able to escape through both gates. The size of the dog park is not very big. No grass. Has one bathroom inside but you cannot bring your dog to the patio section or inside the shop. I thought that was strange, dogs should at least be allowed indoor leashed. Tried two types of beverages and a sandwich. Sandwiches are reasonably priced enough, $7. Drinks were good enough, about $4 for a latte. The folks who work in the shop are OK, hit or miss. read more

I've been here several times since my last review. Have always had a good leisurely time here. But today was different. We decided we would not sit at the bench as it was in the sun and chose to sit further towards the back near the pile of chips. To my horror, we were surrounded by dog poop that owners do not pick up! Please for crying out loud, pick up your dog's droppings. NO LONGER A DOG PARK !!! So sad to say this. It was fun for all the years when you could get a coffee and let your furry friend play in the enclosed park. The food is very average and limited, but available. They have some beer and little wine bottles and limited bar too. The staff is very nice. But, they revamped the park and removed all enclosures so it's just a dog friendly patio environment now. How to even order anything when you have a dog with you is a mystery. They aren't allowed inside and there isn't outdoor waitstaff. Walk two minutes in ANY direction to find special cocktails and amazing food on a dog friendly patio. Was hoping they were going to finish renovations and make the dog park enclosed once more, but it's been a couple months now, so it must be complete as is. Feel bad for anyone who drives here for the dog park to find out it's not there. Please enclose the space again friends read more

Likely find parking on the streets. The "lot" is small, if you can even call it a lot. Once you step close to the facility, you'll smell a bunch of animals (dogs). On this particular sunny day, they were barking but their presence was limited to the fenced park. I would not come back for the drinks. The almond milk chai latte is bland. Might as well just drink almond milk by itself and not dilute it with anything. There are 3 love seats as well as tables and chairs and bar stools. There is ample natural lighting from the big windows. The place is not too loud. Interesting place to read, use internet (free wifi), and/or people-watch. It looks like a nice place to bring dogs. You can bring food and drinks out on the patio where there are seats within the dog park, too. Don't try to bring dogs inside. It's frowned upon (and unhygienic probably). read more

Our car actually broke down out front, and one of the employees (manager maybe, or owner), tried every way she could to help us. I've only been here for coffee during the day. I keep meaning to pop in for evening beer and eats but it hasn't worked out so far. Maybe it will happen. But even so, I think this place is great. It probably says something that as I write this, I'm the Duke of ParkGrounds. I show up a lot. The people are 5 star friendly, the atmosphere is just about perfect and the coffee is good. Oh, yeah. There's a dog play area in the back. We are currently dogless but my wife and I have sat back there so she can get a dog 'fix.' It gets a bit scrappy at times, so I prefer inside on one the sofas. Yum! I love the huge backyard to watch the pups run around whilst waking up with your fave cup of joe. We need more of these! My friends live in the neighborhood and I think it's a great way to meet neighbs with dogs! There is an inside area for non-dog owning coffee connoisseurs and a patio between the cafe and the yard. Holy shih tzu!!! This place is amazing! I love the new remodel and can not wait to see what they do with the fenced in dog area! I haven't been here in at least 5 years so kudos to the owner for really upgrading everything, it looks fantastic! It is located in a great quiet neighborhood and the outdoor sitting area is under wonderful huge old trees and offers plenty of shade. The iced lattes are great and I always get a pastry. The place is bike friendly with bike racks to lock up your bike and also dog friendly. read more

Decent sized area for dogs for a coffee shop. Definitely agree with the whole hit or miss on well behaved dogs and attentive owners. Lots of growling/barking piles of large running dogs. Didn't get a good look at the menu but some of the food pictures I saw on yelp looked great! I've been here twice and will not go back. There is a sign on the door telling customers to watch their dogs, but that rule is not enforced. A dog climbed on my table and ate the pastry that was sitting there. The dog also jumped on me to get the remaining bits of the pastry when I stood up. The dog's owner was nowhere to be found and the staff was no help. I asked the barista if he knew how I could find the owner and he said, with his back turned to me, "I'm not going to be any help. I've been inside all day." It's not the staff's fault that someone's dog was misbehaving, but he could have made an announcement for the person with the brown dog to come get it or something. Also this place is DIRTY. A lot of mud and dirt, even on the tables and benches. Coffee was just alright and definitely did not make up for the unruly dogs. I would not recommend. Also, we could not connect to the WiFi. We asked the barista twice for the password and the network, but what he gave us didn't work. He was very unhelpful and didn't seem to care.
