I'd never owned a pet until I purchased a young ball python from Parker Exotic Pets. They were fantastic throughout the entire process. First with answering a ton of my questions about owning a snake, then with helping me pick out the right one for me, next with getting me set up with all the gear I'd need, and finally with providing ongoing advice and food for my snake. I'd highly recommend going to them if you're considering any kind of "exotic" pet from rodents to reptiles to arachnids!

The pets at this store are amazing! And the staff is awesome, knowledgeable and patient. They always answer my questions and are eager to help. I own many animals from this store and they take great pride in taking care of them and making sure they are healthy before they go home. Everyone wants to have a good experience as a pet owner, can you imagine bringing home a sick animal and having to deal with it? I really appreciate Jenn and Foo! Sure the store is kind of shut down right now, but it's a small business with not many employees. If they get sick it will put a lot of pets out of food and the care they need. I am sure I'm not the only one who depends on them to supply me with; dubias, super worms, horn worms, feeder rodents, fresh greens, rabbit food, substrate and sooooo much more! Be patient and understanding, they'll be open again for those that just want to look around and gawk at the animals all afternoon, but I'm glad they have not only my interest at heart as a customer, but for their employees and families. Thank you Parker Exotic Pets for caring!!

I just walked out of Parker Exotic Pet shops pretty disappointed. I called over the phone in advance and was quoted skinny pigs $50.00 a piece. When I got here, I was super excited to see the skinny pigs, I even had this guy look over the genders of the two hairless guinea pigs for me. When he opened the cage, this other lady totally just lost me at "those weren't for sale." Then she told me the real price was $95.00 a piece 2 for $150.00. She showed me the only two that were for sale, these were not skinny pigs. She kept on calling them "regulars, normals," which are literally guinea pigs. Or Santa Barbara skinny pigs. I was totally misled over the phone, with a totally different price and lied about the quantity of their inventory.

Love this place. Very small, not super commercial. Love the two guys at the front counter. Very helpful and always willing to talk to me and my kids for as long as we care to stay. Feeder insects are high quality and gut loaded. We purchased two scratch and dent dragons here. They are very friendly, healthy and we love them so so much. A+++

What a handsome boy. My baby Russian Rat snake. He is very friendly and very curious. What a face!

I went into this store a month ago, for advice on a troublesome Sumatran Red Blood Python. The owner was very friendly and helpful. While I was there she showed me an amazing Russian Rat snake. It was very friendly and very beautiful. A couple of weeks later, I had given up taming down the blood, ( I gave it to a friend's son) and went in to purchase the Russian Rat snake (Way cooler than it sounds...), and again was treated very professionally, by the young man who was there. After another couple of weeks getting my new snake comfy, while I was making my regular trek to buy a feeder, I asked the owner about ideas for a second snake. The owner had the young man show me a piebald Python that they had gotten. It was gorgeous, so I put down a deposit. So, now I am waiting for them to feel comfortable that it is eating and is healthy, and I will come back and pick up my second snake in a month. Don't go anywhere else in the Denver area. They can do anything exotic pet related, and can get anything that you will need.

Purchased him 4 days ago &he was beautiful in the display, but we put him in the tank;Zombie &floating sideways would they replace/get $back?

With that said, we were excited to once again purchased another animal. A week prior, we had come in to view the selection of different types of chameleons and make our decision. I'd been preparing for a long while for this as I am aware reptilian care is vastly different from arachnid and canine and I want to provide the right environment and care. After choosing one, we decided to come back the following week to complete the transaction. Upon arrival, I noticed the one I was looking at had already been purchased so I began to look at the others and I had questions as they weren't marked on their containers as to price and sex. I sought out an employee for assistance and went to the counter with my inquiries. I waited patiently in line for the next available employee and was greeted by a young woman with green hair and a slightly dismissive attitude but seemed friendly. I greeted her and stated I needed help and had questions about the chameleons. I explained my confusion and inquiries. As she began to speak, her face changed. She looked as me suspiciously as she asked if I'd cared for exotic animals before. I explained, yes, I have cared for two tarantulas for the past four years. She then replied, dismissively, reptile care requires a lot of attention and a specific environment and that none of the animals come with health guarantees and should my lack of proper care result in the death of the animal, there are no refunds. I explained my awareness and said I've been preparing for this particular reptile with the supplies already purchased, environment and container setup, and further preparations completed, i only need said chameleon now. I told her I'd previously spoken with her colleague the week prior (tall young man with long brown hair) who was very friendly, cheerful, and helpful in steak contrast with my present experience with her. I asked if he was working that day. She started he was at lunch and didn't know when he'd return. She then stated that she didn't think I should get a chameleon because of the level of care and lack of guarantees and she felt I wasn't a good enough candidate. Not sure where she got that idea. I was taken aback by her lack of helpfulness, questions to ensure I was adequately prepared, etc. She was derritiendo rude and seemed to not en by to help me further. As the other employees were actively engaged with other customers, i continued with my inquiries and asked her to come with me to the chameleon area. She sighed audibly and seemed further irritated that I hadn't gone away. Once in the area, I asked my questions and then she became more irritable and her answers became curt and she fell silent when I'd made my decision and selected one. When I looked at her, she didn't seemed to register my words. I repeated what I'd just said and she repeated what she told me at the counter about reptile care and that there are no guarantees should it die from lack of care. Why does she keep saying this and why the implications that I'm a chameleon murder? WTH kind of service is this? I began to get angry and decided to go soak with my husband who was on the other side of the store. I found him and explained what had just happened. He could see my confusion, frustration, and anger. He decided we should leave and we did. Here's the thing: with the state of the economy and consumer buying activities, currently, I'm not sure any business can afford to lose sales due to the behavior of their employees. Not only was she not helpful she was unnecessarily rude and dismissive. I'm not sure of what's going on in her life but there's no excuse for this type of behavior towards anyone. I wasn't being rude, impractical, or difficult to get so why was she behaving this way to me? My husband and I were set to spend upwards of $600 that day but decided to take our permanent business elsewhere. We'd been loyal customers for years but no longer will we darken your doorway. No longer will any of our coins be spent here due to the actions of this disgusting woman. We have told our friends and family, who do have various exotic animals NOT to patronize this business and have suggested elsewhere. Business owner, is your business setup in a way to continue to lose customers in this way? I have many suggestions but I suspect nothing will be done. I just thought you should know. I wish you luck.

So while I'm waiting around for this man to arrive for his shift I have plenty of time to notice how utterly filthy this place is. I get it that dogs are groomed here but there were tufts of hair from the entrance all the way to the back of the store where grooming is located. The check in area hadn't been cleaned in a very long time. Because the groomer was late the appointment took way longer than it should have which just caused stress for my dog. Someone else (must've been a manager) finally checked us in and said she would give Isaac the notes on my dog for his groom. I didn't have a lot of confidence but overall it came out nicely. I have a short haired dog so no haircut or shaving was required. He just needed a bath, brush and nails but it still took 2 hours. (Scenthound does this is 15-20 minutes). PetSmart: #1: require that your groomers show up on time for their shifts #2: fix the check in process so that whoever is standing around can perform this task (but if #1 is handled there wouldn't be an issue) #3: increase your standard of cleaning and require at least an hourly vacuuming of the hair. I was absolutely covered in long hairs by the time I left this place and was sneezing from everything that was floating around in there. Gross. The store in general: it is usually well stocked and I'm able to get in and out with what I came for. There happened to be a promotion for a free toy with my purchase and I don't think it's too much to ask for the cashier to mention it with ALL the other upsells, donations and round ups I was asked for. The basket of toys was right there and it was only a few more words to say "you qualify for today's promotion- do you want a free toy?" That would have gone a long way with your customer service after me spending hundreds of dollars here every month. I didn't see it until I was walking out the cashier is like oop you missed out. WITAF. Not cool. I come here because it's super close and I don't have time to run all over town to get my pet supplies and grooming. I will be switching to delivery for supplies and food but I hope they get this place cleaned up. There's random dog foods on the floor that my dogs enjoyed as we walked through the isles. No idea what kind or how long it had been there but this also shouldn't be the case.
