Not even kidding... she's a golden doodle and every time I bring her to a different PetSmart, they just cut her face and body to look disproportionate and odd, once it grows out she's fine... butttt Kristen at the grooming salon did such a beautiful job! After booking online 10 days in advance I received a phone call from the groomer at 715pm the night BEFORE a 7am appointment to cancel due to what they called overbooking. I've been using this salon for 10+ years. I get that things happen but the way she explained it was fishy. Started off asking about my dogs needs then told me they could not do him because their system didn't notify them until Friday. Mind you she called on Sunday. She offered me a grooming academy appointment in the future somewhere in another store, not at the scheduled time. No follow up just sorry, not sorry. I guess my tenure with this salon is over. Location: 5520 S Parker Rd, Aurora, CO 80015 I came in last 5pm with my wife and two dogs. We were getting prescription food that petsmart only sells and they know this. My pup had a small accident so I went to the clean up station and found them missing supplies. Not tracked or restocked. I used the bag to pick what I could but had to clean the floor with a non absorbent towel and also got my hands all dirty. So after having my hands covered in poop.. asked if I can wash them. I know all petsmart have restrooms. I have had to wash my hands many times. Never due to lack of available supplies and petsmart unwillingness to figure how to properly clean. Honestly it's quite literally their job so idk what they're doing. So I was basically told to go to the chick fil an across the street and beg them to wash my hands instead. The girl also just sprayed hand sanitizer on bounty and said it's ok to rub poop into your hands with this. That is just not smart. Pushing germs through your skin into your blood. So I went to chik fil an and had to explain the embarrassing situation. They were confused. The employees there said they had used petsmart restroom without buying anything. So I went back to the car. Confused. Spoke to my wife. She told me the cashier also told her that they had a restroom they let customers use all the time. Even if it's just to wash their hands. This is all I needed to do. So I went back to talk to the cashier. He confirmed this. He said he had a hearing issue and he didn't hear I needed a restroom. He also told me that he can get the manager because he knew this was messed up. When I spoke to the manager. She didn't care. She said that new employees don't know and it doesn't matter. And she said she can choose not to let me use the restroom and she won't. Blatantly discriminating against me. If petsmart wants to dispute this. They should provide video footage to Yelp staff for Thur Aug 1 2024 from 5pm to 5:30pm. You will be embarrassed to share this video. Took my dog here Oct 2024, he was groomed by a male groomer, my dog hasn't been the same since his experience there, he threw up after, and after close inspection his grooming was trash! He wasn't given the furninator, his paws and nails were not touched, excess hair and the nails were not grounded which I payed for 80 dollars for no furminator. Went to pick up an online order. The sign for pick up was between the entrance and what I assume was a manager's office. I stood and waited. No one came so I popped my head in the office and was told I need to stand in the regular check out line. That's extremely poor customer service! I was asked to leave this facility this evening. I was hired privately to work with a family and the asked me to help them find some products for their new dog! I was showing them products that would help them with their animal had a brown haired associate without a name tag approach me, she told me if I were a trainer I would have to leave as I was their competition! Do NOT go here for grooming! We were loyal customers for years and my dog always received great feedback about being so well behaved for the groomer. For our last visit, we got Christy (grooming manager, I think). She was horribly rude. Imagine my surprise when she took 4 hours to groom a shih zsu and then complained because he was sitting/laying on the table. I've been taking 10 pound Phoenix for her spa day at the PetSmart Grooming Salon regularly for a couple of years now. All the young ladies who work there are really nice and always do everything I ask of them to make sure Phoenix is well taken care of. She's about 12 years old and has arthritis and they are very gentle with her. She reluctantly comes back to me looking so relaxed and pretty with her new hair cut and clean teeth. And she sure smells pretty! I like the fact that you can make an appointment online - that way, when it's midnight and I remember that I need to make that appointment, I can just go online. Took our dog here to get groomed on a whim. After our dog was done, they opened the gate before we could put him in his harness and he ran out immediately. He ran all around the store and then out the front doors. No employees attempted to help and just glared at us...Finally, another customer helped us get his harness on. If that person didn't help and he went further out the front, he could have been hit by a car in the parking lot. After we got his harness on, we went to pay and the cashier seemed annoyed that our dog was sniffing around the register. Like maybe don't work at a pet store if don't like dogs... Almost all the tanks have multiple dead fish just floating at the top or down on the bottom. One tank was full of at least 20 fish. I bought a fish which I should not have done considering the conditions of the tanks. The fish I bought has torn up fins and is not well and continues to decline. The animal husbandry in there was truly appalling and I feel horrible for the conditions those fish live in. UPDATE: fish was dead not even 24 hours after purchasing. Seriously appalled at these conditions. Manager lied on the phone to me saying I caught them on a bad day but the tanks were the exact same 5 days previously when I was there getting a snail. I brought my standard poodle to this place for the second time but I did a haircut at on him this time and I regret it. I usually go to Glendale and I have been taking my dog there for about 2-3 years already and they have never done this to my dog. They usually try to brush his hair instead of just shaving him. And that's what they did at Parker... they shaved him without my permission. These lazy people shave him instead of brushing his hair. Worst place to take your pup for grooming. They act like they're doing me a favor by grooming my miniature poodle. The last time I took my pup, the grooming manager said I need to get my pup to the vet so they can prescribe him some trazodone before I can bring him back. There was also a bald spot under his chin and she claimed that the hair in that area was falling off and my pup needs to see the vet for that as well!! Lady, are you covering my vet bill?!?! But there was no skin irritation and I suspect they accident buzzed that area too closely. Ughhh never went back again. The staff just sucks most of the time especially in the grooming area. They said they called me about my dog being done, granted they quoted me 4 hours and my dog was done in less than 2. I wish I could give this place negative stars. This PetSmart is tremendously and horrifyingly terrible. I took my wooly malamute in to get his matted fur combed out. Note that the matted fur was ONLY on the inside of his hind legs. These idiots didn't give my dog a bath first to loosen up the matted fur. Instead, they blew air on him saying that it would suffice in "blowing the tangles out." Which, not only is a stupid idea that even a halfwit would know, but it leaves the animal open to more pain during the brushing. Since the fur isn't wet, the tangled would have more resistance in coming out, and blowing air on the long haired dog will only make more tangles. Not only this, but these dumbshits started shaving my dog! Anyone with decent common sense would know not to shave a goddamn northern breed. Yes, they have long fur, but that fur keeps them insulated from the cold AND the heat. It also puts my dog at risk for sunburn. But apparently, these people don't care about anyone's pet's wellbeing except their own. The groomer was so incredibly lazy it actually hurt. She didn't want to brush my dog so instead she shaved most of the fur off him. Even the parts that had no matts. Like I said, the matted fur was only on the inside of legs. Since these guys clearly have some sort of fetish with shaving animals, they could have spot shaved the mats on his legs off. But you'd have to suppose that their fetish is even worse than I initially thought. Because when my dog was done with his "grooming" the only fur that remained unshaven was on his head, a strip along his back, and his feet. Yes, they even shaved his tail which was extremely unnecessary. I was pissed. These good for nothing morons put MY DOG at risk just to satisfy their animal shaving kink. In no way did I ever specify that I wanted to take home a giant naked mole rat. While my dog was at his appointment, I complained to the grooming manager about this abuse. She admitted that shaving a northern breed wasn't right and told me she would make it right. But she didn't. She did nothing to help my poor dog. She left my dog to some irresponsible, unprofessional, lazy piece of shit groomer who had no idea what she was doing. I made my dissatisfaction evident to the shaving lady, yet, I was still expected to pay. My dog was beautiful before this appointment. Now he is going to look nightmarish for the next few months. He's also in harms way for the next few months until his fur is able to grow back. They ended up shaving about 4 trash bags worth of fur off my poor boy. The vet service is also horrifying. I had a friend who took her dog in for a check up but they ended up running all of these unnecessary tests just for some more money. I strongly encourage you to look at the photos I also posted to see what they did to him. His last picture was from before the appointment. He does have lots of long hair that is manageable, especially after a bath, so no shaving was necessary. The "professional groomer" thought that shaving was the best way to "groom" my dog because she was lazy and worthless. She didn't want to deal with brushing all the hair. Completely pathetic! "Professional groomers," my ass. These people seem to be part of a corporate greed scam and appear to not care about the welfare of your animals. They simply only care about the money. I brought up that he had been sick the next day after being groomed and to watch and make sure no water gets in his eyes. I felt so bad leaving him. There are some staff members I really appreciate; they are warm, relatable, understanding, and patient. I wish I remembered the names of them because a few girls working there are really good at their jobs - which is hard! Customer service jobs suck, I really appreciate informative and kind customer service representatives because lets be real - some people are assholes and shit happens. People are people. The store is very clean and organized, impossible to be clueless while shopping there. This is a positive review in majority, I will continue shopping there but if I am being completely honest, it is only out of convenience. Some staff members really need to check their attitude. I don't remember their names and I legitimately don't want to call them out personally. I don't know their lives or situations but please if you find yourself in a bad mood it is important to take the space you need (as much as one can during work). Capitalism is a prison for us younger people, especially women, to adapt to; conforming to the concept that most customers expect submissive treatment in order for them to spend like 15 $ in average is nearly impossible and totally degrading. I am not saying that those who are having a hard time should comply to the implicitly sexist, racist, homophobic, ableist, and xenophobic atmosphere bullshit Americans call a meritocracy (because ultimately it is NOT a true meritocracy), i'm saying that one can at least for the sake of being around another human being - treat them how they would want to be treated. We all get upset, we all have bad days, bad enough that the ability to work under capitalist constraints is impossible. Please be civil as best you can. I had several employees ignore/scoff/sigh/laugh/and sass me throughout questions I had about pet necessities. I may be an average customer who should not be held in any position above any other, but I am also a human who deserves at least some level of humility that doesn't include being treated like a nuisance. Also for that matter, I am a pretty nice person and typically my actions/questions don't warrant that kind of treatment. This suggestion may be more directed at management than it is personal employees, but if you cannot find the integrity to treat someone with basic politeness to not make them feel guilty to ask you to help them, maybe you should find another position! Incompetent. I was all set up to adopt a kitten and was told first come first serve for those who put in applications. I visited one day, was going to come back the next day with the right supplies to pick up my little guy, but they went ahead and adopted him to another home after telling me I was guaranteed to get him. They didn't reference pending paperwork when processing the other persons adoption, and I showed up to the cat being gone and already adopted. Went in to get help with my Beta Fish. She is 5 months old and doing well. I wanted to know about live plants. I was told the fish would be better off in a tank that has a filter to move around the water. They said we could add one other female fish. After an hour of taking all the advice in, we got a new tank and fish. took it home and followed the instruction to a T. This AM the fish are sideways, we rushed them into the container they had come in and a few hours later they DIED! this is all due to their advice, I wil NEVER go back to PetSmart ever again! read more

It's a PetSmart. As a rule, the merchandise is all the same. However, in the grooming salon, I think it's like with any groomer - you don't know what you're going to get until you get your dog back the first time. We've been there and had some less than ideal grooming results before. But recently, our Rottweiler has been seeing Kimberly for his routine bathing - and the results have been wonderful! While it's true that it's hard to mess up a Rottweiler, it can also be hard to make bathing and drying something fun for them. My dog really enjoys going to be made handsome. Kimberly now recognizes us when we're in the store just browsing and my dog recognizes her, too. They've become friends - and if she ever leaves the store, you can be sure I'll be following if I'm able! read more
