It was a difficult decision, but the Executive Director, Bree, and her team made the entire process easier. My uncle was a man of limited means, so finding an assisted living facility with memory care that worked within his budget was a lifesaver. We even saw a dramatic improvement in his overall health a few short weeks after he moved in. In fact, he raved about how good the food was (not something I expected to hear from someone in a care facility!). It was such a Godsend to know my uncle was being looked after and cared for 24/7. The facility was well maintained and staffed for the duration of my uncle's stay (he recently passed away.). I have to give a special call-out to Bree. She was amazing from the first moment we talked over the phone. In fact, after speaking with her and visiting the facility, I knew Hidden Glenn would be the right place for my uncle. Bree even helped me with the application and approval process while she was on vacation. Her dedication and empathy for our situation was amazing and so appreciated. We also worked closely with two of the nurses, Veronica and May, who were both stellar. May even took the time to purchase and read a book that was written many years ago about my uncle just so she could gain some additional insight into the man and his history. Talk about going above and beyond! I definitely recommend Hidden Glenn. I also can't thank Bree, May, Veronica and the entire staff enough for their help, responsiveness, and kind care of my uncle at the end of his life.

That's what they eat.. my mom has no where else to go. Don't have doctor for facility. I've seen one nurse. Staff steals. I've worked in lots of different skilled nursing. People who are bed bound just are left in bed. They are human and should be dressed and put in comfy their chair and have garden to sit in. It's more or less a place you're left to. Die at. My mom can walk but is declining because all she does is sit there. I would not recommend this facility for my loved one. Worse I've seen. I can't get her out because I'm not power of attorney. I feel so bad for my mom

I moved my father from a larger, horribly run memory care unit to Escondido Senior Living. I had…read morebeen losing sleep and stressing because I picked the first facility under duress and I came to realize very quickly that it wasn't fit for him or anyone else for that matter. Cristina was a Godsend and helped me quickly transfer my father. I was so incredibly relieved and grateful that they had a room for him. It was like going from an absolute nightmare to paradise. The move-in went seamlessly and this was while Cristina was on vacation! She still gave me all the help, attention and care I needed and told me she was always there for us. In fact, when I toured, a resident approached us and wished her a happy birthday and wanted to give her a gift. This of course, left a very good impression on me. I went from a place where no one cared about me or my father to Escondido Senior Living who truly do want the best for residents and their families. When we arrived to install my father's belongings we were greeted by Austin, the director of memory care and he was incredible! I could tell he enjoyed his job and that he wanted the best for my father and everyone in his care. When my father finally arrived he gathered the caregivers on staff who were all sweet and charming and introduced them to us. We did NOT get any of this kind of compassionate and wonderful treatment at the previous memory care unit. Best of all, the caregiver/resident ratio at Escondido Senior Living made me feel that my father would always be in the best of care and the facility itself was much cleaner and much better maintained. Also, at Escondido Senior Living, my father has his own shower where there was ONE communal shower for 60+ residents at the other memory care unit. Finding a home for your loved one is such an important and gut-wrenching decision. Don't be like me and pick something in haste. If you are lucky enough to move your loved one to Escondido Senior Living don't hesitate! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could and the cost is very reasonable for what you get in compassionate care, a clean and safe environment and a stellar management staff.

As his health declined, the staff remained patient and kind. During my regular visits, I never saw or heard a caregiver speak sharply to any resident. Despite his limitations, they always tried to include him in activities and keep him engaged. Although it is a fairly large facility, the staff genuinely seemed to know all the residents by name. Overall, I was very happy with the care he received.

My tour guide, Leslie, answered all my questions and couldn't be nicer. She invited me back to have lunch or dinner so I can check out the food which I will do soon. When she reported it, they used trickery, deceit, lying tactics, manipulation to get her to change her mind. But my mom had written notes, remained steadfast on what happened -she was assaulted by med tech Veronica, and they tried to cover it up. We then reported it to the state of CA (omsbudman) and Ivy Park Escondido staff retaliated against my mom and me. Ooooh, they're good. Alicia, the new director, yells at me on the phone, while being all sweet and smiles to my mom. Adrianna, from corporate- the regional nursing supervisor from Redlands interviewed my mom acting like my mom's friend, being sweet and nice. But she also tried to trick my mom and said she had the wrong date. My mom didn't back down. The next day Adrianna was incredibly rude to me. All of the 'upper' management, have been acting childish, immature, and wanting to pick fights with my mom and me since she reported the assault. Then they tried to give her an anti-psychotic (Seroquel) that she doesn't even take!! Stay away from this mad house. You'll be sorry like we are that we gave them so much money. But I'm taking them out of there and I'll tell anyone about staying away from this Crazy Town.

My mom was elderly, immunocompromised, and recovering from surgery. During her stay, she developed an infection and was clearly becoming increasingly ill. Despite her worsening condition, we felt that her decline was not taken seriously enough and that there was a lack of urgency in getting her the medical attention she needed. When her surgeon identified an infection at her post-op appointment, my mom was sent back to rehab rather than immediately being transferred to the ER. She then had to wait more than a week for a CT scan to determine what was causing the infection. During that time, we watched her health deteriorate drastically. We repeatedly witnessed how sick and weak she was becoming, and as her family, we felt helpless. She needed someone to recognize how serious her condition was and advocate for her before she became even more critically ill. My mom ultimately passed away. There are no words to describe how heartbreaking it is to know that someone you love was so sick and vulnerable, yet you felt like the urgency of her condition wasn't recognized or acted upon quickly enough. We trusted this facility to care for my mom when she was at one of the most vulnerable points in her life, and we feel that she deserved a much higher level of attention, monitoring, communication, and advocacy. She was placed in a wheel chair to receive a CT scan the morning I came to pick her up. Couldn't open her eyes, barely communicate, and the nurse said nothing to me. Just went about things like nothing was wrong with my mom. Our family will live with this loss forever. We only wish that our concerns had been taken more seriously and that more had been done when there was still time.
