When it was time to take that next step and her family needed to choose the best option for a memory care facility their search finally ended when they found Silverado Memory Care in Escondido. Now that my dear friend has been living there she is so happy every time we come visit her. We just came to see her last night and she was relaxed while watching a funny movie with other residents. She and some of the others were laughing out loud about this particular movie. Recently one of her daughters attended one of their many fun events when they had an Elvis impersonator. I saw the pictures and could tell they had an amazing time! They were dancing and singing and interacting with "Elvis." Every time we have popped in for a visit and no matter what time of day or night everyone seems happy and well cared for. We have had good experiences with everyone that works there. They have all been kind, warm, friendly and helpful. My dear friend loves living there. She is at a stage of Alzheimer's where she has a need for a lot of wandering and walking and she is free to do so at this facility. She can also go outside in their beautiful yard and enjoy some sun and fresh air. I am grateful we can pop in to see her there anytime and know she is happy and doing so well. I moved my father from a larger, horribly run memory care unit to Escondido Senior Living. I had…read morebeen losing sleep and stressing because I picked the first facility under duress and I came to realize very quickly that it wasn't fit for him or anyone else for that matter. Cristina was a Godsend and helped me quickly transfer my father. I was so incredibly relieved and grateful that they had a room for him. It was like going from an absolute nightmare to paradise. The move-in went seamlessly and this was while Cristina was on vacation! She still gave me all the help, attention and care I needed and told me she was always there for us. In fact, when I toured, a resident approached us and wished her a happy birthday and wanted to give her a gift. This of course, left a very good impression on me. I went from a place where no one cared about me or my father to Escondido Senior Living who truly do want the best for residents and their families. When we arrived to install my father's belongings we were greeted by Austin, the director of memory care and he was incredible! I could tell he enjoyed his job and that he wanted the best for my father and everyone in his care. When my father finally arrived he gathered the caregivers on staff who were all sweet and charming and introduced them to us. We did NOT get any of this kind of compassionate and wonderful treatment at the previous memory care unit. Best of all, the caregiver/resident ratio at Escondido Senior Living made me feel that my father would always be in the best of care and the facility itself was much cleaner and much better maintained. Also, at Escondido Senior Living, my father has his own shower where there was ONE communal shower for 60+ residents at the other memory care unit. Finding a home for your loved one is such an important and gut-wrenching decision. Don't be like me and pick something in haste. If you are lucky enough to move your loved one to Escondido Senior Living don't hesitate! I would give them more than 5 stars if I could and the cost is very reasonable for what you get in compassionate care, a clean and safe environment and a stellar management staff.

As an example of this exemplary group of employees, my father had lost his wedding ring and they scoured the dining area with me to find it. Never complaining and never giving up, to no avail. But another wonderful staff member, their housekeeper, ended up finding it in their room. Additional staff that have been helpful would be the care team which provides support for every day living needs. What could be an uncomfortable experience, is nothing but positive for my parents. As far as administration, Dustin is whom I've dealt with and he is a pleasure to work with. He knows my parents (and their three very involved daughters) very well, and answers all my families questions about their care. My sister has had interactions with an additional administrator, and speaks very highly of her as well. I am so grateful to know my parents are safe, happy, and at home at Cypress Court and recommend this residential facility, a place my parents proudly call home, with no hesitation.

My uncle was a man of limited means, so finding an assisted living facility with memory care that worked within his budget was a lifesaver. We even saw a dramatic improvement in his overall health a few short weeks after he moved in. In fact, he raved about how good the food was (not something I expected to hear from someone in a care facility!). It was such a Godsend to know my uncle was being looked after and cared for 24/7. The facility was well maintained and staffed for the duration of my uncle's stay (he recently passed away.). I have to give a special call-out to Bree. She was amazing from the first moment we talked over the phone. In fact, after speaking with her and visiting the facility, I knew Hidden Glenn would be the right place for my uncle. Bree even helped me with the application and approval process while she was on vacation. Her dedication and empathy for our situation was amazing and so appreciated. We also worked closely with two of the nurses, Veronica and May, who were both stellar. May even took the time to purchase and read a book that was written many years ago about my uncle just so she could gain some additional insight into the man and his history. Talk about going above and beyond! I definitely recommend Hidden Glenn. My mom can walk but is declining because all she does is sit there. I would not recommend this facility for my loved one. Worse I've seen. I can't get her out because I'm not power of attorney. I am a retired nurse and my husband and I have been caring for our aging parents for the past eight…read moreyears. During that time, our family has experienced our share of hospitals and rehabilitation facilities. In our experience, Ocean View Post Acute stands apart. Never before have we seen such a strong partnership between Physical Therapy and Nursing. They make something incredibly difficult look easy. And we know firsthand that it is anything but. Our mom is a vulnerable 88-year-old navigating a difficult journey. The staff are responsive, attentive, and compassionate. They visibly slow down for her when she needs it, speak to her with dignity and respect, and encourage her while continuing to push her toward her goals. They do this even on the busiest days, when it is clear they are working hard to meet the needs of everyone in their care. No group of people is perfect, and neither is Ocean View. But what we see every day is the striving. The teamwork. The professionalism. The humanity. We don't know whether Mom will ultimately recover from her trauma. But what we do know is that Ocean View is giving her the best opportunity to do so. And in the end, that's all any family can ask of the people entrusted with the care of someone they love.

NO ACCOUNTABILITY FOR ANY OF THEIR NEGLIGENCE/MISTAKES!!!…read more First night my mother was transferred over she was woken up by a CNA named Arturo attempting to inject her with insulin, my mother spoke up and told him the she had already been given her nightly dose of insulin at the hospital before she was transferred over, he ended up injecting her with 15 units anyway. My mother called me right away scared and while he was still in the room put me on speaker and told me what had happened. When I attempted to tell Arturo over speaker that he had given her a double dosage he cut me off and wouldn't let me speak, I had to ask him to please let me finish, he didn't, he continued to cut me off. When I finally had the chance to speak and tell him what he had done he proceeded to tell me that I was wrong and that "it was impossible" for that to happen. Also note that because of allergies my mom needs a specific type of insulin which was provided to them but they gave her another type of insulin. STRIKE 1! The following day I was visiting my Mother. I asked to speak to a supervisor regarding the insulin incident, I was introduced to the floor supervisor Luz. As I was telling her about the insulin incident that happened the night before she seemed unconcerned and not bothered. I also provided her with a very important appointment my mother had. I provided the date, the time, the name of location and the address. Because of the type of care and procedure my Mother had she recommended that the facility take care of transportation and told me not to worry about it, they would handle it and make sure she gets there safely and on time. THEY DID NOT PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION AND DIDN'T BOTHER TO TELL US ON TIME. We had to scramble to get my mom there and back. STRIKE 2! My Mother needed to use the restroom and requested help from multiple staff members, every time she asked, each one replied "let me get someone else to help you". Her nurse that day Rose told her to go to the bathroom in her adult diaper instead of helping her get to the restroom. Eventually my mother could not hold her urine anymore and urinated, it overflowed to her sheets and she was left to sit in her urine for over 3 hours! When we brought this to their attention the response I was given by her nurse Rose was that they didn't think that she could put weight on her leg. I told them that it did not excuse them leaving her in her own urine for over 3 hours and they should have contacted the Dr for weight bearing concerns. STRIKE 3! My Sister and I were bombarded with calls asking about her medical history, medication questions, instead of contacting the hospital or her PCP. It went as far as contacting us for a phone number to a pharmacy that could have simply been googled! Every time we spoke to someone they had a different story or excuse. There is absolutely no communication amongst their staff, directors, nurse practitioners, or Dr's. It is complete crap show! I decided enough was enough and called to speak to the facility director Jason. When I asked for him, I was given the run around. I was 1st told that I could leave a message for him with the receptionist, when I told them I wanted to leave a voicemail they told me that he did not have one it would have to be a written message, then I was told to call back in a week, then they told me to call back tomorrow on 9.23.26, and finally got told that Jason would be calling me back tomorrow. After a long day of back and forth phone calls that both my Sister and I had, I went in person and demanded to speak to a higher up "Director of Nursing". She was well aware that I was on my way. When we sat down instead of discussing the issues that I listed above and that they were made aware of, she decided to sit down and discuss power of attorney instructions as well as advance directives. I had to stop her and remind her why I was there in the 1st place. Again they showed that as a whole THEY LACK COMMUNICATION, ACCOUNTABILITY, AND EMPATHY FOR THEIR PATIENTS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THIS PLACE IS HORRIBLE, GETTING MY MOM OUT ASAP!!!
