Plenty of seating in the front corner area
Craig G.

Love this local bakery. They have great light breakfast and lunch options including pastries, breakfast and lunch sandwiches, soup and salads. The coffee is always spot on. They make a fantastic breve that is balanced.... Not bitter with a good half & half to espresso ratio and light foam. The cinnamon roll is a winner and a breakfast sandwich to complement made a great Mardi Gras breakfast. We even devoted the cinnamon roll to be a quasi-king cake. The staff is always welcoming and friendly. The space sits on a corner in the downtown area providing plenty of seating for two or a group.

Kouign Amann ($10.00 ea.). NOT WORTH IT.

I want to start by saying that the lady that helped me was super sweet and amazing. Unfortunately, the guy that was running the register before her was grumpy and short tempered with a customer before me. Their product was delish. I just really wish that they did not charge so much for their Kouign Amann (Butter sugar croissant). Had I known that it was $10each, I would have much rather get their croissant breakfast sandwich for the same price. Kouign Amann × 2 $20.00 ($10.00 ea.)

Super cute place - Park Street Pastry lives up to the hype! The smell of fresh baked goods filling the air of the entire area makes everything you look at make your mouth water. I got a honey bun, and it was the best honey bun I've had in my life. And with fast and friendly service, what more could you ever ask for?

Iced Latte for my afternoon walk

So excited to try Park Street Pastry for the first time this morning! I'd written this place off for years - I had tried to come several times, but they were never open. They close early at 2 PM, and are only open Wednesday -Saturday. I finally happened to be in the area on an open day, and it was like the place came to life. Looking through the windows on the days it is closed, I didn't think I was missing much, but now that I'm here when it is open, it is full of life. There are lots of people here enjoying coffees, pastries, and food. Their menu is a pleasant surprise, I had no idea they offered more than bakery items - they have omelettes, made to order breakfast sandwiches, full lunch items, and more. I was also surprised to see that the dining area is more roomy than I expected with various tables and seating option - perfect for groups and bringing a book or your computer. I just came in for a quick iced coffee on my walk, but I can't wait to come back with friends, or to do some remote work. I'd love to see them expand their hours to offer this awesome 3rd space all week long.

We love Park Street! The owner Doug has always been an approachable, friendly guy. Park Street has the food and drink quality of a legit pastry bakery paired with the ambiance of a local gathering favorite. They have plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, with a variety of small and large family sized tables. With cinnamon rolls as big as your face, cappuccinos to take you to Italy and their Saturday special: biscuits and gravy, you have GOT to check them out. Friendly service every time.

Sad that it isn't opened later but I understand definitely not enough pastries to be made and sold due to such a high demand. The breakfast sandwich was delicious but next time I will order it without the cheese and light egg because it's a pretty hefty amount the add-on. All the pastries we enjoyed we're absolutely decadent!

Love the expansion! Breakfast croissant sandwich is always a win. The lemon tart was phenomenal. Owner has a dry personality but once you get him talking he is warm, kind, and you can tell he is passionate about what he does.

Key lime tart

LOVE Park Street Pastry! I often get lime tarts, cinnamon rolls (the BEST), and OMG, they make kouign amann, so buttery and delicious. They have espresso drinks, breakfast, lunch.

As a native Alabamian, I'm always up for some southern cooking. I was planning on this being as…read moresweet as Van promised! We really enjoyed our Saturday afternoon meal! It's a lovely restaurant. It seems a bit out of the way with mostly corporate buildings around. The restaurant has a nice modern aesthetic. I like the purple hyacinths hanging from the ceiling in one area. It was very steady for an off time in the afternoon. First, our server Olivia was amazing! Very attentive and we were extra needy this day so I really appreciate her patience. We even dropped food on the floor. Oops! She was so nice about it and cleaned it up immediately. We had customizations and extra requests. No problem for her! She went above and beyond. I hope she sees this because she was such a joy! The food was also very good. We started with the biscuits and one peach compote and one blueberry. Both were yummy. They were traditional drop biscuits and I love a good biscuit! We also had an order of fried green tomatoes on goat cheese grits. You get 4 very large slices. I could only eat one. The grits were yummy but there were not enough of them in relation to the friend green tomatoes. They were also encased by a sauce. I'm guessing a remoulade. I don't really care for remoulade sauce so I'd have removed it had I known it came with the dish. It really overpowered the goat cheese taste in the grits. The tomatoes were very al dente and I would have preferred them cooked a bit more. The dish was still good but my least favorite and I would normally love anything with those ingredients and fried green tomatoes are a favorite so the remoulade (or whatever it was) sauce was a real problem for me. I would definitely get them again without the sauce because they are great otherwise. But that sauce just overpowers every other flavor! I got the chicken tender dinner and others in my party got the bone in fried chicken. Everyone liked their chicken. The tenders were a big size. 4 of them but I hit 2 meals out of them. Everyone liked the Parmesan rosemary potatoes. I really liked the bacon green beans. The only side we weren't impressed with was the Mac and cheese unfortunately. The cheese was not good. We got coffees and a chai. All of them were very good. A bit pricey for the amount you get though. Even with the smaller complaints, I'd still give th a 5 because of the outstanding service and the dishes were overall very good and large portions. We will definitely return and I hope to try out a breakfast item next visit!

But when I pay the kind of prices they charge at Silo, I need to be wowed and I just haven't been the two times we've dined here--hence, only 4 stars. We hit the club for brunch with a group, and while the ambiance was pure "Country Club Chic," the execution was a bit more "Sunday Morning Sand Trap." The Liquid Courage I started off my round with two drinks. the Bloody Mary. It was fine--tasty enough, but it certainly didn't change my life or inspire any poetry. However, things got interesting with their Tequila/Cold Brew/Liquor 43 concoction. Topped with an egg foam cap, it was actually pretty solid. A bit of a gamble, but sometimes you have to roll the dice when the menu is trying that hard. The Culinary "Hit and Miss" Then came the food, or as I like to call it: The Great Consistency Crisis. The Steak: I asked for medium-rare; I received medium-well with a "char" that felt more like a personal vendetta against the cow. The Potatoes: Apparently, potato portions are determined by a lottery system. I received about half the amount of the person next to me. Maybe I didn't look hungry enough? The Eggs: My over-easy eggs had crispy, hard edges and arrived at a temperature I'd describe as "lukewarm at best." We also had to hunt down salt and pepper like we were on a scavenger hunt. Honestly, I probably should have just hit the buffet and cut out the middleman. The Service Our server was perfectly nice, but he appeared to be roughly twelve years old. Since he wasn't legally old enough to understand the complexity of a craft cocktail, he couldn't give us any info on the drink menu. We just had to "go with our gut"--which is a dangerous game when tequila and cold brew are involved. The Verdict I'm not saying I won't be back, but consider this a fair warning: if Round 2 involves another charred steak and a side of "room temperature" eggs, I'll be sending it back for a rerun faster than a shanked drive into the woods. 3/5 Stars -- Great for people-watching, questionable for potato-equity.

It was like walking into a casino, where it's so cold you forget that you're just another sucker losing next month's alimony payment. The menu is outstanding, with lots of options for vegetarians and savages alike. We opted for the huevos rancheros and breakfast tacos. Both excellent, and not too spicy! Coffee and spiciness don't really compliment each other. Maybe that's just me. Our server was good tempered, gracious and conversational. Ok, so maybe she forgot my coffee, didn't offer refills, didn't bring my toast out early as requested, and just told us what we owed rather than giving us a bill. He asked for toast before the meal, and that didn't happen - at least it did come with the meal. We also never got a bill where we could see totals of everything, we had to ask for that separately. Our server was very nice, she just wasn't really on top of things. I'm wondering if maybe she couldn't hear us well, the music is a bit on the loud side outside where we ate. But food was so good. I have learned to order extra bacon with my BLT as it is one of the exceptions to the "ample portion" rule. I generally give this place a 4 or 5 stars, but as I am rating this particular experience, it only warrants a 3, due to the lack of attention from our server. We were seated promptly, as always, and our server greated us in a timely fashion. I ordered eggs over easy with biscuits and gravy. I usually have bacon, because theirs is so good, but opted for sausage as our server said the gravy had little sausage, when I asked. Now here's where it gets disappointing. My biscuits, which were huge, had very little gravy, but I didn't get a chance to find out just how little until I moved the tops over to the side, by which time our server had already left. I had finished my eggs, which were perfect, hoping she would return and I could ask for more gravy, but she never made eye contact the two times she passed our table. When she did stop by to ask if we wanted more coffee, she walked away as soon as my wife said no thank you. I started to ask for the gravy, but as soon as she heard the word "no", she was off without a backward glance. When she passed back by, I tried to make eye contact, but she kept her gaze foward and wouldn't look my way. As this is one of my favorite places, I will definitely return, but ask for a different server if seated at this ones table.
