some shopping trips are about getting in and getting out, but one can easily spend hours at park royal. what makes park royal unique is that it's actually two shopping areas, north and south, connected by pedestrian walkways and a short drive. while both sides have plenty of shops, i'm almost always at park royal south. it feels brighter, more modern, and has a great mix of fashion, home, and lifestyle stores. my usual stops include zara, simons, winners, h&m, and osaka supermarket. there's also a cineplex on the south side. wish there was a uniqlo though. just outside the main mall is the village, which has more of an open air shopping feel. you'll find stores like home depot, anthropologie, and michaels, along with whole foods, starbucks, restaurants, and cafés. it's easy to turn a quick shopping trip into a full day affair. one of the things i enjoy most about park royal is that it feels less hectic than some of the larger malls around metro vancouver. the wide walkways, natural light, and open air sections create a more relaxed atmosphere, making it easy to take your time instead of feeling rushed from store to store. parking is plentiful and free, which makes it an easy choice when you want to shop without the usual mall hassle. whether you're picking up everyday essentials, looking for a little retail therapy, or simply need somewhere to spend a rainy afternoon, park royal is my favourite shopping destination on the north shore. often when i go, "i'm just looking," but we all know how that usually ends. maybe that's just part of the park royal experience. read more

Straight up confusing !! Every time I come here I get lost. Half of the mall is on one side of the Marine Drive, and the other half is on the other. Some of the stores are on the inside of the mall, some on the outside. Even staff working there, didn't know and couldn't tell me where certain stores were. The directory didn't help either. However, this may of been my fault, as I can't seem to read maps. Other then logistics, this mall does have some great stores - Free People, Hot Topic, Winners, Dollarama, MAC, Forever 21, The Bay, Urban Outfitters, Off 5th and many more! You need some time to be able to shop here, and that's just one of the sides! I would give it another star if it wasn't so confusing! read more

This mall is so chaotic on top of bad design. I don't like how Park Royal North and Park Royal South are separated. On top there are stores outside the mall (not connected to the mall). Parking is chaotic on top. There is a ramp that connects North and South but the one lane caused a traffic jam. The mall is just confusing. After the renovation, everything went downhill. Also note that their garage parking spaces notification are inaccurate. We went into one of the garage that said 215 parking spaces available and we couldn't even find one. We went to another garage that is not connect to the first garage we came from and it said 15 spaces available and again we found none. This is just frustrating. read more

One of the largest malls on the North Shore. Parking is plentiful in the multi story parkade. The mall is split into 2 distinct halves (N and S). The N side is more like a giant strip mall, though there is an interior section as well. Looks like they've renovated the place, which is a good thing as it used to look very 1980s. Nice open atrium on the S side. In addition, many buildings that were once standalone (including the parkade) are now swallowed up by the building expansion. In addition, the stores inside are now more upscale than before. read more

I'm rarely up in West Van but I do like this mall and the odd time will make a special trip up here. It's huge and they did do some renovations a while ago. There are two sides which does make it a little confusing especially if you're not familiar with it or are looking for a particular store. I like to come here and pretend I am rich... But don't we all?? With the new renovation and still more construction of the south side of the mall they are now supporting a lot of the designer brands and shops the carry them like Michael Kors, Kate Spade, Anthropologie, Urban Outfitters, Free People so on. Also has Whole foods, Cafe Artigiano, Home Sense, Lululemon, so on. Also YYoga has opened up. I prefer the south side in this very interesting "mall" / "village" concept. The north side is actually a typical mall layout and its indoors, it seems less people at the north side than across the street, but the north side has shops such as H&M, the Bay and so on. I was very surprised and quite pleased by the selection and price points offered at the various stores in and around Park Royal. One would think in the West Vancouver area, shopping would be extra expensive. This was not the case. I found reasonable men's wear, teen and ladies clothing at super reasonable prices. I've also heard after Christmas sales or end of season sales, you can find some really great discounts. If you do not find what you want inside the mall, dozens of shops are located on the exterior property offering everything from home hardware needs to high end shoes and everything in between. There are a variety of eating options: the indoor food court or numerous fabulous restaurants around the exterior perimeter. read more

I wish all shopping malls were set up like Park Royal. Decent civil engineering to pair with the extensive indoor mall spanning mostly two floors but occasionally three, there is bound to be something for everyone who comes here with a purpose. First things first, there are actually two Park Royal locations, literally across the street from each other. Park Royal North has some shops, including Banana Republic and Saks 5th Avenue, whereas Park Royal South has the food court, makeup stores, Urban Outfitters, a yoga studio, Bath and Body Works, Eddie Bauer and more. Like I said, there's something here for everyone with a purpose. I came here to get some food from the food court, which I'm going to write a review on shortly for A&W Canada (and believe me when I say, A&W burgers actually taste good in Canada, unlike in the USA, but your mileage may vary). I also swung by the washrooms (they're not called "restrooms" here in Canada) and they were pretty clean. Plenty of coffee and chocolate places wherever direction you go and it was not very packed for a Friday afternoon, but keep in mind, I currently live in Southern California and commute to Los Angeles on a daily basis for work. Two things I want to call out here though, 1) you need to have money to shop here. I would be kidding if I said I went on a shopping spree and spent thousands of dollars. I came here and spent $30 CAD for lunch, which at the time of this review is $23.24 USD when I converted on Google. You can see from other Yelp reviews here, "I like to come here and pretend I am rich... But don't we all??" 2) I came here as a tourist, not a citizen of Canada. So, to be fair, I saw in other reviews that there was some recent ban to restrict senior citizens from playing chess at the mall, which seems a bit bizarre but I don't know the whole picture either. This mall is just like any other typical malls out there. You got your clothing stores, electronic / game stores, jewelry stores, grocery stores like Kin's Market, food court, etc. So they have a variety of stores and they often times have something for everybody. But one of their biggest problems is that they had split the mall into two different sides, leaving the big stores like Future Shop & Staples and food court at one side and leaving the rest of the other stores onto the other side across the street. The only store across the street that's even worth visiting is maybe London Drugs, a couple of coffee shops and a few Bank Services like Royal Bank. There's no way to get to that other side of the mall unless you cross the street, which is fine but I always thought they should've built a type of bridge of some kind or something else for pedestrians to cross on their own at any time instead of having for us to wait when it's safe to cross the street. Also if it was raining or snowing quite heavily, then there's no way to get to the other side of the mall without getting soaking wet from the rain or be covered in snow. So that's part of the big problem they have at this mall. Bottom line is, besides the weird way they had built the mall, their mall does have a lot of selections of stores and you will most likely find the type of store that sells the stuffs you want. read more

We didn't know where to go after crossing the Lion's Gate bridge so decided to check this place out. We didn't realize it was an outdoor style mall so to a visitor, it could be easily missed. The parking is a bit confusing, there are stalls that are marked 30 min., 1 hour and then no time limit. There is a parking lot and angle parking along the stores and then a parkade. It was not clear whether the parking in the parkade was free or not and many cars were going in circles looking for a spot on a Friday early afternoon. The outside had a little water fountain in front of Kate Spade and then another steel display nearby. From the parking lot view, we didn't notice too many restaurants in this shopping centre except for Five Guys, Nando's, McDonald's and an Italian place called Trattoria. Some stores included Zara, Simons, Bath & Body Works, Best Buy, Shoppers Drug Mart and Michael Kors and Aritzia just to name a few. Nothing makes me want to return to this area for food or shopping. read more

Today was the first time I had been to this mall because it's only the second time I've been to West Vancouver. This is a pretty large mall that is split in into two distinct main indoor strips as well as larger big box areas to the south and west. The higher end stores are located in the south section such as Michael Kors, Anthropologie, Kate Spade. The parking structures have walkways to the stores across like the Brick but if you want to go to the north side of the mall where the Bay is you have to either drive there or walk across the street since they are separate structures (Across Marine Drive). This mall is very spread out because of it but most of the stores are on the south side of Marine Drive. There are a good variety of stores and restaurants though and we did some good shopping there today. read more

I'm a fan of Park Royal and it's new outdoor shopping area. It gives you the option to shop indoor like many other Lower Mainland malls whilst also giving you the opportunity to shop store to store outside like many other large American shopping centers. It is a little bit of a fuss that the mall is separated by a road and while most of the shopping is on the South side, there are a few shops that draw a crowd to the North side. All in all a nice mall to shop at. read more

It is always a mixed feeling coming to this shopping centre, as it is split on two sides, the North and the South side seperated by the big Marine Drive in West Vancouver. I give the South side of the mall a big thumbs up, especially the Park Royal Village side, with all the nice stores, and outdoor appeal, but I give the North Side a thumbs down. Malls being split in half, have never been a problem, like Metrotown before, with Eaton Centre, because at least there is a walkway to the other side, but in this case, there is a huge gap between the two sides. Even if you have a car, it's a good drive to the other side of the mall, if you needed a particular store that wasn't on the side you were already walking. To be honest, to have the best experience here, just stay in the "Village", it's wonderful year round, and there is bound to be something you like there. read more

Ever since the open-mall concept Village on the south side, I've been coming here more often. Does feel like a resort with the mountains, and ambience. Lots of construction going on, where the old White Spot is, and everything along Park Royal South. The food court here looks and feels upscale, lots lots of seating but unfortunately, too much fast food. One would think there'd be a Freshii or a Noodlebox but I digress. But the upscale casual are here, even the White Spot looks glamours lol. Milestones, some nice pub by Home Depot... Today, noticed for the 1st time the North is doing some renos by the London Drugs area. Undoubtedly, for their clientele, it's going high-end. As alluded to an older review, the Zara there is simply out of this world--a New York-style, fashion-show theme is what comes to mind. With a gorgeous Osaka/T&T supermarket, even their food court seems high end lol, that's a bonus to have a place to shop for groceries connected to the mall. And speaking of connections, that ramp to connect both sides of the mall, is worth every penny. And no riff raff here either ;) read more

TERRIBLE MISTAKE- Park Royal's recent decision to ban senior citizens from playing chess at the mall is small-minded and shows complete disregard for the community they are located in. If they had any marketing savvy (or shred of humanity) the mall would actually create a place for these seniors to play games and create a vibrant sense of inclusion. Rather than that, the mall management is coming across as petty and mean-spirited. Time for my family of five to to take our business elsewhere until this perplexing decision is changed. read more

My husband and I were looking to purchase an anniversary/engagement ring and had a lovely experience at the Michael Hill in Park Royal. The sales staff were knowledgeable and very pleasant, the showed us a wide variety of rings in the style I wanted. We were able to find a beautiful ring and stay on budget. The sale staff were not pushy and respected our desired ring style and price. Follow up: when we initially purchased the ring we were told we would be able to return it - no questions asked for 60 days. The sales person then insisted that I HAD to size the ring as it was unacceptably too big for my finger. I agreed, sized it down to her recommendation only to find that the ring is so tight it is uncomfortable. I went to return the ring only to be told that since it had been resized it can't be returned. Their solution? Size it back to the original size. Be careful, the sales staff seem to use shady practices to void their return agreement. read more

A pretty snazzy mall divided into two buildings. Still has an old style feel to it, The one side you have your out door village. with all different kinds of restaurants, Keg, White spot, 5 guys, etc. supermarkets, Osaka, and over 40 shops to feed your shopping needs. Then you got your Indoor South mall located in the same vicinity to further your experience! damn! But wait it doesn't stop there. just across the way is the North side of the mall (indoor) where u need to drive or walk across a bridge to get there, and there you have your H&M, London Drugs, The Bay, Rocky Mountain, its a smaller and a little more boring (my opinion) but hey, its all apart of the shopping experience... so i'm told... :/ read more

I've never been big on malls, generally, but I've always liked Park Royal. Maybe it's because you never feel too "lost in the mall" here - everything is pretty straight up and down, navigation-wise, and there are a couple of nice atriums (one on each side) for natural light. The North and South sides are separated by Marine Drive, but there's a ground-level crosswalk between the two, so you can park on one and easily walk to the other. The mix of stores here is also good - it's the sort of mall that I can come to in search of something, and actually find it. Big box stores include Winners, Future Shop, Indigo, London Drugs, the Bay, and Petcetera. The Shoe Company here seems to have better stock than other stores in the chain. There are also some high-end and independent stores in the mix, so it doesn't completely feel like the Mall that Could Be Anywhere. I love the market square area on the south side, as it has a magazine shop, a really good butcher, a couple of bakeries (one for bread, one for desserts), and a wine merchant. Park Royal's changed a lot over the years, but I guess I like it because it's still familiar. read more

Here's another mall with a dated looking interior in the Greater Vancouver district. It seemed like the people who own Park Royal wanted to preserve the heritage. Why? Well, it's the first covered mall in Canada! West Vancouver rains a lot, you know. Most of the interior of Park Royal looks exactly the same when it first opened in 1950 and 1978. Think of this mall as Oakridge of West Vancouver. Lots of high end expensive shops catered to West Van residents. The Mall is divided into two sections. The original North Mall and the newer South Mall which was opened in 1978. Ironically, if you want to go inside the South Mall from the North Mall or vice versa, you'll have to walk outside without a roof over your head. Some of the stores even use real life human mannequins in the display windows which I found to be a little creepy. FYI: Plastic is out. Real is in for West Vancouver. read more

As if in a perpetual state of construction getting used to a layout will just leave you frustrated. In the latest revamp i was surprised to find a severe lack of washrooms available. The only one on the ground floor was blocked off this morning and the other way up not he other side of the top floor. The latest revamp pushes it more to a "high end" mall by it's look. The people at your kiosk in Park Royal have very poor product knowledge and bad service, especially an Asian man (I'm also Asian) who acted like he was the manager, told me the feature I wanted was not included in a plan I wanted to buy. And when I pointed out on the brochure that it was actually included to him, he said "whatever." He has poor product knowledge, rude and condescending to customers. I give it a 2 star because another tech, Padman, was excellent but he does not work there anymore. Also a lady with drak skin and braided hair was also very good. read more

This mall is a bit quirky. I think one of the biggest challenges is that it is divided in two by Marine Drive. The south side of the mall has the most potential for shoppers as there is a recent addition called the Village at Park Royal which features some OK stores. There is a fun little overpass from the north to the south sides. Which is great as getting out of either lot onto the main thoroughfare is always a challenge. On a weekend parking is always scarce on the street level so don't forget to check out the roof top parking above both the north and south malls. The covered malls are both pretty dated. For example, I went to the ladies washroom in the north side I was really surprised to find a very small facility with only two stalls and a lengthy line up into the hallway. In one stall there was a hole in the grout between the tiles where I could see a gap in the sub floor. You know it's time for a makeover when the floor is slowing falling apart. However, I did notice there is currently a lot of construction going on in the parking lots. So hopefully good things to come. read more

Far far away in the distant land of North Vancouver, there lies a mall with some great potential. Yes, I am speaking of Park Royal. This mall is split in half - with one side of the mall being on the north side of the street and the other on the south... They have some decent shops (ie. Lulu and Aritzia).. Oh! And they even have an outlet of Les Amies Du Fromage (Cheese!!!). The best part about Park Royal is the newest extension that they've made which is called "The Village" - it has Whole Foods for good, wholesome fun, and Cactus Club, for some not so wholesome fun with a few other shops in between. It's all outdoors which is what gives it that villagey feel. If you've never been to Park Royal, I would definitely recommend making the trek out there just to see the Village - it's great! read more

Ignoring the temporary renovation to the mall, I love the outdoor portion or the 'village'. It's a great concept and lovely place to shop at especially when the sun is shinning. Love the stores and coffee shops here but I do think the variety can improve. Would like to see Ann Taylor here besides Loft. Cannot wait for Simons to open. Also more casual places to eat please. Always a delight exploring Anthropology. Love the Zara here as it is a large store. I especially love the mix of affordable and high end stores. It caters to a variety of demographic. Trippy mall people in there. Weird soda pop in some of the convenience stores. Realized that the place I was looking for was across the street. Oh, do I hafta go outside in the snow? There's no covered walkway? WTF? Isn't this west van? I thought EVERYTHING was covered in west van. I just killed some time as I bought a present for somebody before christmas. Then, since there was nothing else to do but drink weird soda pop or coffee... I did both. I didn't see a bar. I kind of wished there was one that morning. I have no reason to go back... Food Court: Newly named "Picnic" food court has a lot of options though a bit pricey for a food court. Seemed to nearly match a restaurant lunch special cost or even a bit higher. The best part of it was a salad/juice/burrito which I don't recall the name of but was the healthiest option. Whomever re-desgined the mall loves white everything! I was dissapointed when they removed the old foodcourt because it had nice seating around the fire place and was still like the rest of the mall newer. Food options: varied - sandwich, asian, fast food burger, tea/coffee/donut fast food, greek etc. Missing persian food! read more

I had my 5000.00 e-bike vandalized and left inoperable while shopping in this store. This left me stranded in West Vancouver as I live downtown. I went back into the store, explained what had happened and asked them to call me a van taxi to get my bike home. Well you think I was asking for the moon. I finally got one of the customer service reps to phone. They had to call to the managers office to get a cab number. Why a number wasn't more readily available for the staff I don't know. At all times I was polite and courteous. I waited for half a hour (I timed it) and still no cab. I went back into the store and asked the girl if she could phone again and I got a terse no. I work in customer service so I know what I'm talking about. The company I work for encourages our staff to go above and beyond in customer service. That service level is reflected in our reviews as ours are excellent. This sorry bunch couldn't get it together to perform the basics. Everything I was wearing that day I had bought at Winners/Marshals. I am a loyal Winners customer. This group needs to be re-trained in customer service. I'm 65 years old and had to push my 50lb bike over the Lion's Gate bridge. NOT IMPRESSED. read more

This mall is quite high end. Alot of the things that you buy here will be more expensive but better quality. This mall is a short walk from ambleside beach, which is a great place to go swimming in the summer or just go for a walk. There is a large variety of foods here, so if you are looking for a place to eat this is the place to go! Over all this is one of my favourite malls. read more

Hi....just wanted to make a comment after visiting the new Anthropologie store in the new development of Park Royal South. I live in Kerrisdale but on occasion like to visit Park Royal, in particular, the village area. One thing that has me puzzled and more importantly annoyed is the constant drone of music that is pipped out onto the street. Totally unnecessary as if there is not enough noise in our world. Each store has its own music and much of it is disturbing enough to drive customers away but somehow, someone has decided that we shoppers need music to park our cars and walk from store to store!!!!! Now upon visiting the above new store I find that it too has the piped music outside....very loud and totally unnecessary. I was also not impressed with the enormity of the stores such as Zara, Browns, etc. and hope that they are able to do the business they need to be able to pay their rents. I, for one, will not be returning to shop there and will be visiting the smaller versions of their stores in less sterile and noisy retail areas. What a shame that the development wasn't in keeping with the village which has a delightful array of small stores but without the ridiculous sound system. read more
