Poor quality gel nails execution. Weird vibes with the green walls. Technician was very nice though (but again, not skilled).

Everyone loves Park Nails, except for me. I've had too many bad experiences here. I'll take you back to March 2021. They have a sign on their door that says please wear a mask. I was thrilled they had this because this isn't an in and out stop, you're committed to at least an hour in here in close quarters with other people. There was a woman next to me in the pedicure chair not wearing a mask and knowing I would be there for a while I asked her to put a mask on. I really don't care. If you're the only person in the entire salon not wearing one, there's a problem. She was so sweet and immediately threw one on. However, when she was going to pay, the owner of this nail salon apologized to her that I had asked her to put a mask on and offered her free service. I was humiliated. You have a sign on your door that says everyone must wear a mask, all the employees are wearing masks and then when I politely ask her to put one on you give her free service? I couldn't believe it. It was as if I was in the wrong while I was actually following their policies. Like I said, embarrassing. This nail salon charges exponentially more than others in the area. I was in last Wednesday for a gel manicure, they charge $40 for this. I had powder gel on when I arrived so they had to remove that first. They charged me an additional $10 for removing the powder gel without telling me they would do that. NO other salon charges you to have gel removed if you're going there to get another gel manicure, which I was. Their gel color selection is awful, their powder gel color selection is worse. And yet, they charge much much more than other salons in the area. For what? The horrible classical music playing on repeat? The nail equipment that they use on you and throw back into the same box they'll use on the next client? No sterilization, no cleaning, I was completely grossed out. They use the same pink reusable nail clips for each client without washing in between clients. They use the same nail clippers and buffers from client to client, I watched it first hand. My gel manicure is chipping and it's been 5 days. I don't know why people love this salon but for the price, they should clean their equipment and a gel manicure should last for a minimum of 2 weeks. Definitely the place to go for nails post quarantine! Park nails is the first nail salon I've ever been to that truly respected the idea of appointments and time management before Covid-19, so I figured they'd be a great place the start for my first visit after quarantine and I was not disappointed. Only half of the stations are being used, each one separated by shower curtains between areas and plexiglass between staff member and client. My temperature was taken upon arrival and hand sanitizer was pumped into my hands as well. The colors are covered by a clear curtain so you point to your color and your technician grabs it for you. Each staff member wears gloves, a mask, and a face shield (or their eyeglasses). I just got here and I'm already so at ease with what I see. Lots of cleaning is happening between customers of course and everything is individually wrapped. Grateful for this long overdue pedicure to be completely stress free!! WOW. I am so glad I listened to the other reviews and tried this place out. This was the best manicure i've ever gotten, i'm really blown away. Kevin did my nails with absolute perfection. I have acrylic nails and showed him a design I wanted. It was no problem for him! His gentle touch and precision with every little detail shows how talented and hard working he is. Most salons i've been to have me in and out, but the results are not great. Kevin took 2 hours making sure everything was perfect. SO happy with the results!! This place was recommended to me upon moving to Huntington. Location is perfect, only 1.5 miles away and I love how you can call to schedule an appointment! My appointment was 6:30pm and I was greeted upon walking in. I had Paul and Kevin who did my mani and pedi. I had to wait a bit longer with my fingers soaking but Kevin was apologetic. From someone who didn't really enjoy the process of getting manicures or pedicures, Park Nails has such a calm, relaxing atmosphere that I now look forward to my visits. Coming from another nail salon where things were a bit rushed and messy, Kevin and the team here are so meticulous and I know I am getting my money's worth. I visit Kevin for UV gel fills that somehow look good even at three weeks. Gina is also lovely and does beautiful work with pedicures and powder gel manicures. I used to come here years ago and I really like this place. I went 3 days ago for the first time since Covid and and they found every way to up charge my pedicure. All I wanted was a basic pedicure. $30 I was asked if I wanted a spa pedicures and I said no just a basic pedicure. I was than asked again if I wanted my calluses removed. Hell yes, isn't that part of a pedicure? Add $15. Whatever. All of the spa pedicures included some kind of callus removal and a massage. I don't a massage I get massages through my health insurance. Well while I was sitting down for my nails to dry the man started massaging my shoulders and asked me if I wanted massage 10 minutes, $75 and three days later the pedicure is already chipping. Kevin and his wife Cindy and their staff are the most kind and professional people I ever met in a nail salon. I been to many throughout my life. I read these negative reviews and get annoyed because I personally had many instances where I chipped or broke my nail and messed up my pedi and they will fix for you without hesitation and will not charge you at all. All you have to so is call and they will tell you come on in. Also the prices are the same as any other salon in the area. The additional services are if you want them. You are not pressured into adding a SPA pedicure or a massage. They offer it if you have the time and money you get if not fine. All salons have these options as well. Kevin always has the latest in designs which I am big on. He takes his time and does a great job. Instead of writing negative reviews and if they called they could have had a solution instead of frustration which prompts bad reviews which is not beneficial to small businesses. After several terrible experiences at another local salon which shall not be named (*cough* but it's in my previous review if you really want to know *cough*) I needed to get the damage the last salon did to my nails fixed. Enter Park Nails and Spa - renovated and under new management within the last year, as I understand it, and even closer to home for me. So convenient! The spa is clean and cutely decorated and there is plenty of parking. Bonus. They offer many enhancements that look very enticing, but don't harass you if you just need basic services done. Everyone was very kind and attentive and they did a great job fixing my wrecked nails. It's not as huge as some other local places, so be sure to make an appointment. Thank you Yelp for helping me find this gem. I called and was able to get an appointment on a crazy busy Saturday AND was seen on time. I had a pedicure first and the young man who did it was the best technician. I have super ticklish feet and not one time did I jump or felt tickled. He knew exactly how to hold the foot with firmness that removes that awful feeling. They do a wonderful job and the cuticle pusher and nippers are opened in front of you from their sterilized packet. The nail file used is new and the foot scrubber is a new adhesive pad attached to the hand held paddle. He provided a massage and then a soothing treatment with hot stones. I think I could have stayed there forever. The chairs they have are massaging ones but I did not activate my chair. The lady in the next chair had hers on and you could almost hear her purr. He did a lovely job with the application of polish, making sure to end cap them. Now, on to the manicure. I asked for the owner, Kevin, as his reviews were fantastic. Well, they were right. I had a custom set of gel nails built for me using forms. Not many technicians can do this well; but Kevin's were perfect for me. I originally wanted stiletto but after us talking, I went for the ballerina (or coffin) shape. I also asked for a longer than I normally wear because I have DragCon coming and I have to be RIGHT! You have to come correct or the queens will shade you to filth! So back to Kevin. He took his time and made sure to build strong nails and paid special attention to the stress points. Then on to the filing and buffing. Now let me just say I have felt heat so many times during this part of the process but Kevin just has a magical touch-going slow (but not dragging it out) and will hold your nail firmly so the heat isn't centered. He then checked each nail against the other on the same hand; then did this again but with finger to finger checks with the opposite hand ie pointer finger to pointer finger. This attention to detail and quality is so awesome. I picked out a colour that was gold and sparkly and just made me happy. He applied and cured; base coat, 2 coats of colour and then a top coat. Oh and THEN, lots of yummy cuticle oil (pineapple scented) {had me craving a piña colada in the worst way} and a hand massage AND then, a wrap up and clean up with a heated towel. Dead. I have left this Earth and am now singing with the angels, looking fierce. And the secret, I could not believe the bill. I expected a three figure price for both services; not at all. So that being said-I made sure to TIP Kevin and my pedi tech generously. I hope you go and have the same fantastic experience. ONE SUGGESTION: make an appointment if you go on a Friday or Saturday. Walk-ins are accepted but may have a wait. Ok, another suggestion. Talk to your tech-if you are sensitive or really aren't sure about a style- they are happy to offer their professional input. And this helps them take care of you and YOU get to have exactly the nails you are dreaming of! read more

This is the sort of place I never would have thought to go to if not for the reviews and I'm so glad I did. Not only did they accommodate me last minute, the pedicure i got was extremely well done and relaxing. The nail tech was very thorough in her work and actually like paid attention to my dry skin areas, tried to shape my nails consistently, etc. instead of just going through the motions. Three weeks later and my pedicure hasn't even chipped and my nails still look great. I love this place and I just keep on coming back every two weeks. The people: The owner, Paul and Sydney they are all very nice. If you feel like chatting they'll chat with you. The Pedicure very relaxing and I love the massaging chairs! They always give you a free 5 minutes massage with every manicure, that always ends up being longer. If you want you can pay $10 for 10 more minutes, that again it always ends up being more time. One time I paid for the 10 minutes and they suggested that I switch the regular chair I was sitting on to the massage chair and it was so relaxing getting a proper massage while getting my nails done. I felt like a celebrity so I asked them to take a picture so I can show it to my family lol. That time there were no other customers so my massage ended up being for like 30minutes! The place: Smells amazing, very clean, tools are sterilized, lots of colors options. They have mood color changing polish, cat eye effect polish, powder gel, regular gel. I searched for a reliable nail salon for about a year before Facebook led me Park Nails. I am a big fan of Kevin and the way he runs his nail salon. He has done my powder gel manicures and so have a few others there and all but one time I was extremely happy. The time that I wasn't happy seemed like the tech did not have the proper experience, and my powder gel wasn't "sealed" with a top coat or something. When I left the salon, it felt thin and more like regular polish than the powder gel usually feels like (hard, like acrylic). The same day, the gel on two nails had cracked, and three others had peeled almost completely. I called Kevin in the morning and explained what happened and he made time for me on a busy Saturday to come back in. A different tech (I want to say Tina?) did my nails and she was EXCELLENT! She was apologetic and sincere in making it right and I was very happy with how it came out. She was surprised I tipped her, but she worked hard and spent an hour on my nails -- it wouldn't have been fair not to tip! I think it's important that a business makes it right when customers are unhappy and that goes a long way with me, so I will definitely be back! As for the salon itself, it's clean, but the decor feels cluttered (LOTS of plants) and distracting. I do REALLY like that they ask customers to silence their phones and that the techs don't really have loud conversations amongst themselves while they are working. I went to this nail salon for the first time last week. I don't usually do this however, I was very disappointed. Not only is this nail salon more expensive than the norm, I had SNS powder nails done and in less than three days to thumbs already cracked. Not only that but the experience that I had with the lady that did my nails at the time of paying was very very disgusting. I just so happen to have a chair massage which was $15 for 10 minutes. When I gave her her top, she went out of her way to ask me where is the tip for the massage guy. I was very taken aback and when I asked her, what did you say, she had the nerve to repeat it,where is the tip for the massage. Last I checked tips are optional and never should be demanded. Truthfully the best part of my whole experience there was the massage. I had every intention to give him a tip but she didn't allow me the time. It is very disgusting to have someone demand a tip nonetheless it wasn't even her service. I will never step foot in that nail salon again. Very very disappointing.
