Deb at emerald door salon is a class act. This is the place to go for a boutique salon experience, intimate, clean, comfortable. My hair is complicated and long. Deb took on the challenge of highlighting and succeeded. Most colorists when highlighting my hair turn it brassy orange. Deb did a great job and gave me cool caramel blonde highlights and gave my brunette dimension. She's also super easy to be around and down to earth. Thank you deb for a great experience and such a quality job. I will be back soon. Victoria read more

Deborah did a fabulous job on my hair. I hadn't had a cut in quite a while, and I'd had a couple of bad cuts during my search for a stylist in Huntington. I was pleasantly surprised by the haircut I got at The Emerald Door. Deb thinned out my hair in the back and gave me a layered bob I can blow dry/style myself, even with 2 cowlicks! She did exactly what I wanted. Other stylists have taken phone calls chit-chatted with other people while doing my hair. Deborah gave my hair her full attention. It was a totally pleasant experience. I definitely will be returning to The Emerald Door! read more

I have been seeing Deb for over 12 years for my hair. She is fantastic! She has styled my hair for every event from my prom to my wedding day. Her salon is welcoming, clean, comfortable, private and affordable. I know I'm in for a relaxing environment, a good chat and a great haircut when I have an appointment with Deb. read more

I moved to California 3 years ago and every time I come back to New York, I schedule an appointment with Deborah for my haircut and highlights. She is an amazing hair stylist. With years of experience, she is proficient in cutting short pixie style hair and color among many other things she does. If she takes you as a new client, you will never regret. 10 years after I first scheduled an appointment with her, I still cannot find anyone better. read more

I absolutely love seeing deb for my haircuts and now my color!!! I come all the way from Pennsylvania to get my hair cut the way I want it, and done right! I have been going here for some time now and I LOVE the way my hair looks after. The staff has made me feel right at home since the first time I walked through the door. Today, I had The Emerald Signature facial with Corina. She's very professional, pleasant and soft spoken. Very caring and pays attention. She never left the room until it was finished. Corina did extraordinary job with cleansing and extractions. Painless!!! She's very patient and precise. I could tell that she really loves her profession. At the end, she gave me a wonderful face massage, that few (6) hours later, still feels like I had a facelift. I added the paraffin treatment for my hands, a must have! The room was very nice and relaxing. The spa very clean and welcoming. I highly recommend Corina's services. She just got herself a new client for life! read more

I scheduled a facial with Jamie after receiving a coupon as a gift! I walked into the salon and spa with a warm welcome and some light paperwork. The environment was very calming and especially clean. Jamie was lovely, professional and very helpful with any questions I had both about the procedure and how I can continue with proper skin care, especially with sunscreen! My complection is on the right track after my facial with Jamie. I feel confident and even purchased a single session for my mother as a gift! Thank you :) read more

I travel from the Bronx to see Deborah for facials once per month. This past week, I was running late to my appointment due to traffic and Deborah rearranged her schedule to make the trip worth it for me and to ensure I received a full treatment. Where else will you find customer service like that!? I feel like a new person when I leave Emerald Door. I am relaxed and can see and feel the difference in my face right away. I look forward to coming here and highly recommend a visit. read more

For waxing (the only service I have experienced here so far) just excellent. Wonderful organic products and professional treatment. I recommend highly and I will be back to try a facial. read more

I have been going to The Emerald Door ever since I found out I was allergic to a chemical found in most hair color. I heard they carried an all-natural hair color so I figured I'd give it a try. After five minutes I knew I had made the right decision. The atmosphere of the salon is very relaxing and the staff is absolutely wonderful. After listening to my concerns, Deborah assured me that the hair color was safe and took the time to show me the product. She is a very talented stylist and colorist and I was so happy with the end result. She even called me at home later that evening to make sure I didn't have any reactions and was happy with the color! I have been going to The Emerald Door ever since and I am always so happy with my hair. I highly recommend this place!! read more

Deb is an extremely talented hairdresser. Her cuts and color never disappoint! The atmosphere at The Emerald Door is private and peaceful. I have been going to Deb for 30 years and she is always on her game, professional, and does an amazing job. HIGHLY recommend! read more

I had an AMAZING facial here! Loved every second of it and plan to go back. This was my first facial and I didn't know what to expect. I was thrilled with the service. It was about an hour long and included an arm, hand and face massage. I feel rejuvenated and relaxed! read more

Don't bother telling them how you want your hair done because they will do what they want anyway. They think they know better than the customer. read more

Deb has been cutting my hair for 20+ years. Obviously, I have every faith in her talent. I live in Queens and STILL would have no one else cut my hair. Recently brought my daughter along, and one of Deb's capable, professional assistants did an amazing job.Have also given Emerald Door gift certificates to friends. In addition, the salon is sparkling clean and has an immediate calming influence. LOVE the Emerald Door and Deb!!! read more

I am terrified when it comes to getting my haircut, especially after a few disasters at other salons. Josie cut my hair and did an awesome job! I was looking to cut 6 inches and she checked with me multiple times to make sure I was okay with the length. It was my first time here and everyone was so nice, I will definitely be back again! read more

I LOVE the Emerald Door! I started coming to this spa about 5 years ago because I had heard about their fabulous manicurist, Tracey. I started with manicures and pedicures with the amazing Tracey - nail professional, therapist, gardener extraordinaire, plus more - and now have my hair cut and colored at this wonderful establishment. I have had fabulous massages, wonderful facials, and look forward to every visit! From the moment you walk in the door - greeted by smiles and coffee - to the moment you leave, it's a wonderful, relaxing, fun experience! read more

Best massage EVER! Massage therapist, Jamie, has a real gift! I have been getting massages for the last 15 years, all over the country, from local spas to high end resorts, and while I thought many were quite good, none have measured ip to what Jamie has been able to do for me. Granted, over the years my aches and pains have changed and increased, but still, Jamie's massages are the best - most relaxing, most enjoyable, and most effective. If this rating were for Jamie, I would have given 5 stars. When it comes to the spa/salon, everyone is very friendly and helpful, and the space is clean, cozy, and comfortable....but it could be more comfortable. Since space is limited for multiple services for multiple people at one time (and I want to share Jamie's expertise with my friends and loved ones, but don't want to go to anyone else myself), it would be great if there were a couple of big comfy chairs to sit in while a friend or my husband was getting a treatment after I had one myself. There are places to sit, and the staff is very accomodating, but it could be taken that one notch up. That being said, its not a negative...more a suggestion for improvement. This is a fabulous and unpretentious spa, with my favorite massage therapist ever! read more

Deborah, the owner, is great! She is quick, friendly and makes the wax as painless as it could be and the services are moderately priced. I highly recommend! read more

Deborah saved my @$&!! Got terrible highlights elsewhere and she turned them into a beautiful subtle ombre! Thanks Deborah you rule

I went to Emerald Door based on the good reviews I've seen and it was well worth it!! Deborah is an amazing colorist, my hair looks great. The salon is so welcoming and everyone makes you feel right at home. I will definitely be back and will be telling all my friends to come here. Thank you! read more

My mom decided to give them a second chance. This time the owner cut her hair and the results and service were much better. She definitely wanted to make it right which is commendable. read more

The worst Brazilian waxing Ive ever had. When I arrived the owner told me to put on the disposable underwear so she didnt have to touch me. I guess she never heard of disposable gloves. I thought by the way she bragged about how "great" she is when it came to Brazilian waxing thought it might be the best. When I got home couldnt believe how patchy everything was. Btw, the place is a complete dump. Tiny rooms everywhere with so much junk everywhere. read more

I came here with my mom on my birthday for a signature facial, after having read all the positive yelp reviews. Emerald Door certainly deserves them. Christina was wonderful--I am in my 30s with good habits (no smoking, excess time in the sun etc) so not someone who attends my skin with anything other than daily moisturizer and a weekly scrub, so it was nice to have some serious pampering. There is soothing white noise (ocean waves) and she spent time going over first what my skin needed and what I shouldn't be doing (i.e. using St. Ive's apricot scrub--ooops~!). Then, it was layer upon glorious layer of different facial creams, a mask, warm towels, cool towels, steam--each smelling lovely. It was not a "harsh" treatment but she did go deep to get out some dirt. A shoulder/neck and brow massage brought everything together. I think world peace could be accomplished if everyone just got one of her facials. She was pleasant throughout, a very warm personality but didn't force conversation, never left the room. I highly recommend her in particular, and would come back. My only areas for improvement would be the space itself--it is almost hidden next to a violin store and we walked past it once before finding it. The waiting area was a little cramped and uninviting for a spa--I was brought very nicely to another room to wait, but some candles or other spa-ish decor would be nice. Adding touches I've seen at other spas, like cucumber water after your treatment, would give it that extra something..I'm not saying that has be the case here, but just comparing it to other similar experiences. Overall great experience and recommended! read more

I have been going to Deb for over 20 years and she is not only a wonderful person but extremely talented at what she does!! I have followed her everywhere she has worked throughout the years, sometimes driving up to an hour which says it all. I have very curly hair and was never happy with my hair, Deb has changed that for me and I am forever grateful!! She has also cut my children's hair since they were little and they now will travel home from college just to go to her, she makes them feel comfortable and always listens to their requests yet gives them her honest professional opinion which I so appreciate. Aside from her talent, she is a truly genuine person who really cares about people and is dedicated to making her clients happy. I love Deb and the Emerald Door and highly recommend her to everyone!! read more

I went to the Emerald Door for the first time to get my hair and make up done for my mom's birthday party. Deb did my hair and Josine did my make up. They both listened to what I wanted and checked with me throughout to make sure I was happy with how it was coming out. They were courteous, professional, and detail oriented. That combined with the low key music and spa atmosphere made it a wonderful experience. I would definitely go back. read more

I have been going to Deb for at least 15 years. She is a very talented hair stylist who never rushes her work to get to the next client. She is flexible and always figures out how to fit me in. My husband, daughter, and teenage son also use Deb and we can't say enough amazing things about Her work ethic and talent. The atmosphere of the Emerald Door is clean, inviting and I always leave there more relaxed than how I come in.... the way an intimate day spa should feel! read more

Love love this place!!! Especially Debra amazing colorist & stylist! & she has the best personality point blank!

Deborah is the best there is!! I went from blonde to brown and loved it! I have done the same thing a few times at high end, expensive salons and paid triple the price as emerald door - and the job was no where near as good as Deborah. If you want a really good job with a very reasonable price, this is the place! read more

It was the worst haircut I have ever received. Not only did i tell her exactly what i wanted, but i also brought a picture. She butchered my bangs ,cut them so short they were standing on end. She only cut the back, didn't cut the angle in the front. The cut made no sense. I asked for a straight blow out with a flat iron.I had flips and waves and i looked so out dated and ridiculous, that i went back the next day and got my money back. Stay away , unless you want to look like a clown. Woman is clueless as to how to cut hair.Or do a blow out. read more
