The vibe and atmosphere is beautiful The service is mid towards good... i saw so many returning customers for hair coloring so they must be pretty good But i specifically went for hair curling and she didn't put enough fixing spray even though i insisted So all those money was for nothing cause i was going to attend a wedding later that day and the whole curls opened and i had to do it myself read more

Michael was formerly with Kimera, and after Kimera closed. I followed him to Salon O. He was friendly and great with coloring and cutting. Unfortunately he is currently out of state with his daughter in Missouri I believe. It's a very nice salon, but my hair looks a mess just 5 weeks after the next person worked on it. I just got a cut and color with Korrina and she was great too! She took her time cutting and texturing my hair and I really liked it! read more

Went to Salon O in Syosset had apt with Danielle. The girl knows hair and- how to cut it. Gives good suggestive tips and networking and is pleasant to talk with. Ahh If my hair could just always look this good. read more

Will not be coming here again.... We came by on a Sunday afternoon for a haircut. The salon was nearly empty, with the stylist sitting around. The moment we stepped in, the receptionist immediately yelled "THE DANCE STUDIO IS AROUND THE BACK!!" gesticulating wildly with his arm. When I said we were actually here for a haircut, the receptionist said okay, turned back to his casual phone call, and stopped acknowledging us....? Not a glance our way. We had to stand around for a few minutes before the hairsweeper came by to ask if we had an appointment. When we said no but we just wanted to ask about a haircut, we were again just left to stand by a receptionist that had only said (yelled) seven words to us. No acknowledgment by anybody else. I must emphasize -- we would have been happy to wait! After all, we didn't have an appointment. Even a "just sit while I handle this call" or "sorry, we're not taking walk-ins" would have been splendid. But the lack of acknowledgment that we even existed as customers in the salon was something I'd never experienced. I won't immediately conclude that this was racially charged (though an Asian woman in a mask getting openly ignored by the reception felt a little -too- close to the opening scene of Crazy Rich Asians for comfort). But even if it wasn't, the service was curt, barely existent, and very odd. After some time of nobody telling us to "sit and wait" or anything, we said goodbye to the receptionist and left. The receptionist did not say goodbye back. So weird. The stylist did not look up the entire time. Honestly very confused by this visit. Is the salon trying to seem selective and snooty..? There were zero customers and there were still two hours to closing. Went to an adjacent salon and got the haircut I wanted. So weird. read more

I've been to many salons all over the country, but Salon O is just stunning and a first class experience. I'm a model in NYC for 30+ years and hair is an important part of my life. The salon's beautiful decor and super friendly staff make the experience even better! Dawn is a pleasure to work with and my hair looks amazing. Salon O is the perfect place for a simple blowout , cut or color. See Dawn...LOVE her! read more

I got my hair fixed from my normal salon, I wouldn't take the risk of spending more money for a job I wasn't happy with for a second time. That's the purpose of YELP to inform other customers, it's not always for good reviews. It was my experience to share. I also tried giving another call and the owner wasn't around. read more

Very talented stylists. A little on the expensive side but they get you in and out quickly very accommodating! read more

I picked Salon O because of its convenient location and Yelp reviews. I had my haircut with Albert and he did a great job. I went to schedule a second appointment and found out that he is no longer at Salon O. I decided to go with Corinna since I've seen her giving other girls with long hair layered cuts. The salon accidentally booked me with Kaitlyn and I had to reschedule another appointment with Corinna. Overall, I felt the salon was clean, prices are a little higher than other places, but you can leave feeling refreshed and not worry about someone messing up your hair. I hope in the future Salon O can text appointment reminders with the stylist's name listed so there's less wasted time or misunderstandings. read more

This is a pretty nice, upscale salon in Woodbury, and the prices reflect that. It's beautifully decorated with glass chandeliers and lots of white marble. I made an afternoon appointment on a Friday and was promptly shown to my hair washer, who did a thorough job. Tracy then cut layers into my hair. Taking her time and making sure it was even and the layers properly framed my face. Then she expertly added my extensions in, knowing exactly where to tease and where to lightly brush my hair into place and then curled it. I was happy because she did exactly as I'd asked, just wished that there had been a bit more volume as my hair did fall flatter later in the day (got my hair done at 1 pm and my party was 7 pm ... so I guess it's understandable). read more

An immaculate salon. From the moment you enter, you are greeted by a warm, professional, and courteous staff. The employees at the front desk are genuine. upbeat, and ALWAYS accommodating. I went back for magic sleek treatment on July 27th. I couldn't leave a review before because of a family emergency. This was my 3rd time going & I know they must have changed the product they used. My hair was bright yellow and it didn't control my frizz at all. I had to use color wow to manage it. I'm furious. To spend that much and have a horrible outcome is outrageous. Everyone seems to be controlling costs because of the business they lost during Covid. But to use a different product on a client that gave rave reviews before is unacceptable. I will not be going back read more

Just had the BEST haircut ever from Dawn!! She's terrific. Salon O is a beautiful, comfortable space.

I've been going to Salon O for over a year now and couldn't be happier. The cut and color I receive from Dawn is perfect each time and I can't tell you how many compliments I get .... even months after I get my color done! The service, cleanliness and professionalism can't be touched. Try it - I promise you won't be sorry! read more

I went here to get my makeup done/bridal trial by Krystle who is not only amazing but gorgeous plus she has same name as me spelled differently so that's bonus points right there lol! also got my hair done to complete the look by I think Valentina (I'm horrible with names) it came out amazing. the salon is so nice inside very glamorous. plus tons of parking in the back. I can't park to save my life so a nice big lot is always good to me. I'm very happy with the makeup because most salons I've been to in the past never had a good makeup artist I mean I'd go home and be like I could do it better. it's great to know that if I ever want my makeup done in the future be it for my wedding or anything else can easily come here and it's reasonably priced! and there are many times me and my girls want to get glammed up for a night out now we finally know a place. read more

Pretty sure that I've never written a Yelp review for anything in my life, but felt the need to post here - as I originally found Salon O on social media. I've been going to Salon O and seeing Alyssa Riviccio for the last year now, and she's honestly a game changer. I have naturally reddish/brown hair, and I had wanted to go blond for quite a while. After 2 less than ideal highlight sessions at other salons, my entire head was a disaster. It was brassy, and absolutely the opposite of anything that I wanted. Alyssa literally fixed everything and I left after my first appointment beyond thrilled. If you need a new stylist, she's your gil. Also, she does a killer blow-out! read more

Had a great relaxing time getting my haircut and coloring with Danielle! She did a great job, I didn't have to wait at all! I even called right before my appointment since it was freezing outside and my car wouldn't start and they pushed it an hour later. Everyone in the salon was super nice! The salon has tall ceiling with a chandelier. It is bright and beautiful! The offer you a beverage of choice so I had white wine... Nothing wrong with that ! They use Kerastase products to wash your hair and everyone seems very professional. It was pricey $205 but worth it! Also, make sure you bring cash since they don't put tips in the card. read more

I came here for a consult with Naina to see what appointment to book. I was informed that her schedule was booked and the next appointment would be in November. I was willing to wait but they got a cancellation while I was there and I took it! I'm so happy I found this salon. It's clean and I can't say enough of how amazing Naina is. She's so sweet and did an amazing job. Everyone was super friendly. At first I thought the salon would be pretentious given its grandiose decor. But I was pleasantly surprised with how nice everyone was. I loveee my hair. Thanks again Naina!! read more

So happy and grateful they accommodated us as a walk in. My daughter is 7 and needed a haircut badly. Danielle was very good with her, the cut was gorgeous with slight layering and angled towards the face and the blowout was super fast. I went to the salon on February 22nd I made my appointment a month prior Irene the woman who did my hair was wonderful she did a great job and made me beautiful krystle the woman who did my makeup was rushed she actually told me that she had a client that she was running late for she caked on the foundation she put on my eyelashes didn't put any mascara on it didn't even look like I had eyelashes I should have took a picture you made me look 10 years older please don't go there I had a wedding to go to I went there to take away some of the pressure and I left there with anxiety if I could put zero stars from her I would the only reason why I get one star was for my hairdresser read more

Such a beautiful salon , Amazing service and sweet staff such a warm environment of talented people

I am sure the salon is great but had a bad experience with their stylist Alyssa (with long purple hair). She was loud and very intense during the quick consult and basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about in regards to how to cut my hair. I recently moved from NYC where I frequently went to Warren Tricomi and Butterfly Studio - 2 top notch salons who never made the crazy suggestions she had. I was desperate since I am about to go on a long trip and finally said let's go with long layers to play it safe. I go to get my hair washed and realized I forgot my phone. When I got back to her station she was bad mouthing me loudly to another stylist who was working on a client. Soooo unprofessional. I told her this wasn't going to work out and left. read more

I love going and getting my haircut there so many friendly and professional staff and fellow customers can't recommend this place enough!!!

Second visit was equally impressive. Brian remembered me, even thought I'd only been there once. Tweaked the layering a little, per my request, and this cut is even better. It always takes a few cuts for a stylist to learn your hair and this was amazingly good. I am now a regular. BTW, the blowout was amazing! First visit - I was impressed with the volume of highly positive reviews, especially for Brian and his curly haired clients. They were quite right. I have long shoulder length fine soft curls that needed a boost. His trim and layering were perfect, as was styling advice he gave during the cut and dry. The scalp massage was a nice first touch at the shampoo station. Great experience and will definitely return. read more

The precautionary measures that the salon is taking is exemplary. I felt safe and secure. They provided a mask and there was hand sanitizer in multiple places. Of course my hair came out perfect with Dawn styling it. read more

I recently had the pleasure of getting my hair done by Irina. I was hesitant at first being that I only used the same hairdresser for years and years. I'm so glad that I took the chance because this is one of the most talented women I have ever met! She didn't start chopping my hair like most hairdressers, she cut little bits at a time and asked me if I wanted to cut more. I felt so comfortable and at ease with her. This woman is so talented and patient. They say you get what you pay for, this is indeed true. She is knowledgeable and up to date on all new cuts and styles. She made my thin, fine hair appear thicker and bouncy!! I'm so glad I found Irina!! I will never go anywhere else now. read more

WOW! I just got home and had to write this review, I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror!!! I can't even begin to express how amazing my experience here was. I haven't gotten my hair cut in over a year and haven't gotten it colored in about twice as long. The staff was amazing. I had ombre color put into my hair and it looks absolutely FANTASTIC! I can't say enough how pleased I was with the level of care and service at this salon. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and professional. You can really tell that the stylists and colorists here care about their craft and are passionate about the work that they do. I had an excellent consultation and got exactly what I wanted. I will definitely be coming back and would highly recommend Salon O!!! read more

This review is long overdue as I've been going to Salon O for years! Besides being a beautiful salon, the staff and stylists are so welcoming and make you feel at home the moment you walk in. There hasn't been a time when I wasn't offered a beverage (coffee, tea, water, soda, wine, etc) immediately after sitting down. I always look forward to getting my highlights with Jill...she is the absolute sweetest, and always does a phenomenal job. While I've only used Jill for color, I've had multiple stylists (Brian, Louis, Justin) cut and blow dry my hair, and would trust anyone in the salon. All are detail oriented and make sure they know what you want before they start styling your hair. After a horrible experience at another salon, I am waiting for my hair to grow back so I can get it corrected back at Salon O. Never again will I trust anyone else with my hair! If you're hesitant about making an appointment at Salon O, I'd say go for it. With a talented staff, gorgeous decor and reasonable prices...why not? read more

So I recently had my hair colored by a colorist elsewhere and it turned out to be a color disaster. I called Angela at Salon O to see if she could save my hair and my sanity (I saw her Instagram photos and new she was the one who could fix this mess). She graciously took me in right away and said she's here to help me. She reviewed my hair color (bright red) and came up with suggestions on how to make it look better and me happy. Needless to say she worked a miracle and it turned out even more beautiful than I expected. She was kind, caring and very professional through my whole process. She is my Savior and I highly recommend her services Oh and the rest of the Staff couldn't be any nicer. read more

I am home for the summer and I was in desperate need of a haircut. Being that my regular lady is all the way back in Oregon, I had to find somewhere local. Most hair salons are not open on Sunday so that narrowed down my search a lot. Salon O was open, nearby, and I called them do see if they had an appointment and they told me to come in a half hour. Very easy to find and right on Jericho Turnpike. Walked in was greeted by the receptionist and sat down. The Salon itself is very classy and attractively decorated. Waited no more than 10 minutes before Louis introduced himself. Super friendly guy, listened to what I wanted, and executed it perfectly. Wash, cut, blow dry $55. It's a little pricey but then again it's Long Island (Syosset area to be more precise) and this is how much every place chargers unless you go to one of the chain hair cutting places. I was very happy with my haircut! And ask for Louis, he is a good conversationalist and not in the awkward way where they feel obligated to strike up a conversation that ultimately ends in random silence 2 minutes into your haircut. read more

I have been going to salon O for about a year now . The salon is very clean and has beautiful decor. I see Alyssa (hair_by_alyssaaa). She has never let me down. I'm going to start that I'm very particular wih hair. I'm scared to try new people for my hair and my eyebrows! That being said I had to find a new stylist because I moved and from the yelp reviews I decided to go with Brian. He is great, you won't be disappointed if you try him .. He listens and answers all your questions if you have any.. I have long hair and curly .. He cut it very nicely ..took the right amount off and layered it well that when I do it curly it will be full not heavy like it was ( because I didn't cut it for a while) very nice blow out as well. He gets 5 stars. The 4 stars are for the shampooing experience it was a bit rough.. Although it was lunch time and I think she wanted to put in the order.. Wasn't a very awesome experience .. I usually love he shampooing part because I feel my head feels super clean and also massaged.. Didn't feel that way when I got the up from the chair. Oh and the conditioner what ever she used smelled horrible. I'm used to gentle cleansers no harsh ones I made the switch about a year ago and that conditioner was just awful which brings me to the products: Also a note to the salon.. I asked for gluten free shampoo.. It wasn't available I didn't truly understand if they were out or just not ordering it anymore.. So I asked Brian if I could bring my own products and he said yes so my advice if you are sensitive to the harsh chemicals in the popular brands bring your own for shampooing and also for styling I think I'm gonna do that next time. Overall, good experience. Try them if you are in need of hair work read more
