Michael was formerly with Kimera, and after Kimera closed. I followed him to Salon O. He was friendly and great with coloring and cutting. Unfortunately he is currently out of state with his daughter in Missouri I believe. It's a very nice salon, but my hair looks a mess just 5 weeks after the next person worked on it. Will not be coming here again.... We came by on a Sunday afternoon for a haircut. The salon was nearly empty, with the stylist sitting around. The moment we stepped in, the receptionist immediately yelled "THE DANCE STUDIO IS AROUND THE BACK!!" gesticulating wildly with his arm. When I said we were actually here for a haircut, the receptionist said okay, turned back to his casual phone call, and stopped acknowledging us....? Not a glance our way. We had to stand around for a few minutes before the hairsweeper came by to ask if we had an appointment. When we said no but we just wanted to ask about a haircut, we were again just left to stand by a receptionist that had only said (yelled) seven words to us. No acknowledgment by anybody else. I must emphasize -- we would have been happy to wait! After all, we didn't have an appointment. Even a "just sit while I handle this call" or "sorry, we're not taking walk-ins" would have been splendid. But the lack of acknowledgment that we even existed as customers in the salon was something I'd never experienced. I won't immediately conclude that this was racially charged (though an Asian woman in a mask getting openly ignored by the reception felt a little -too- close to the opening scene of Crazy Rich Asians for comfort). But even if it wasn't, the service was curt, barely existent, and very odd. After some time of nobody telling us to "sit and wait" or anything, we said goodbye to the receptionist and left. The receptionist did not say goodbye back. So weird. The stylist did not look up the entire time. Honestly very confused by this visit. Is the salon trying to seem selective and snooty..? There were zero customers and there were still two hours to closing. Went to an adjacent salon and got the haircut I wanted. So weird. read more

I picked Salon O because of its convenient location and Yelp reviews. I had my haircut with Albert and he did a great job. I went to schedule a second appointment and found out that he is no longer at Salon O. I decided to go with Corinna since I've seen her giving other girls with long hair layered cuts. The salon accidentally booked me with Kaitlyn and I had to reschedule another appointment with Corinna. Overall, I felt the salon was clean, prices are a little higher than other places, but you can leave feeling refreshed and not worry about someone messing up your hair. I hope in the future Salon O can text appointment reminders with the stylist's name listed so there's less wasted time or misunderstandings. read more

This is a pretty nice, upscale salon in Woodbury, and the prices reflect that. It's beautifully decorated with glass chandeliers and lots of white marble. I made an afternoon appointment on a Friday and was promptly shown to my hair washer, who did a thorough job. Tracy then cut layers into my hair. Taking her time and making sure it was even and the layers properly framed my face. Then she expertly added my extensions in, knowing exactly where to tease and where to lightly brush my hair into place and then curled it. I was happy because she did exactly as I'd asked, just wished that there had been a bit more volume as my hair did fall flatter later in the day (got my hair done at 1 pm and my party was 7 pm ... so I guess it's understandable). read more

I went back for magic sleek treatment on July 27th. I couldn't leave a review before because of a family emergency. This was my 3rd time going & I know they must have changed the product they used. My hair was bright yellow and it didn't control my frizz at all. I had to use color wow to manage it. I'm furious. To spend that much and have a horrible outcome is outrageous. I went here to get my makeup done/bridal trial by Krystle who is not only amazing but gorgeous plus she has same name as me spelled differently so that's bonus points right there lol! also got my hair done to complete the look by I think Valentina (I'm horrible with names) it came out amazing. the salon is so nice inside very glamorous. plus tons of parking in the back. I can't park to save my life so a nice big lot is always good to me. I've been going to Salon O and seeing Alyssa Riviccio for the last year now, and she's honestly a game changer. I have naturally reddish/brown hair, and I had wanted to go blond for quite a while. Had a great relaxing time getting my haircut and coloring with Danielle! She did a great job, I didn't have to wait at all! I even called right before my appointment since it was freezing outside and my car wouldn't start and they pushed it an hour later. Everyone in the salon was super nice! The salon has tall ceiling with a chandelier. It is bright and beautiful! The offer you a beverage of choice so I had white wine... Nothing wrong with that ! I was willing to wait but they got a cancellation while I was there and I took it! I'm so happy I found this salon. It's clean and I can't say enough of how amazing Naina is. So happy and grateful they accommodated us as a walk in. My daughter is 7 and needed a haircut badly. Danielle was very good with her, the cut was gorgeous with slight layering and angled towards the face and the blowout was super fast. I am sure the salon is great but had a bad experience with their stylist Alyssa (with long purple hair). She was loud and very intense during the quick consult and basically told me I didn't know what I was talking about in regards to how to cut my hair. I recently moved from NYC where I frequently went to Warren Tricomi and Butterfly Studio - 2 top notch salons who never made the crazy suggestions she had. I was desperate since I am about to go on a long trip and finally said let's go with long layers to play it safe. I go to get my hair washed and realized I forgot my phone. Second visit was equally impressive. Brian remembered me, even thought I'd only been there once. Tweaked the layering a little, per my request, and this cut is even better. It always takes a few cuts for a stylist to learn your hair and this was amazingly good. I am now a regular. BTW, the blowout was amazing! First visit - I was impressed with the volume of highly positive reviews, especially for Brian and his curly haired clients. They were quite right. I have long shoulder length fine soft curls that needed a boost. His trim and layering were perfect, as was styling advice he gave during the cut and dry. I'm so glad that I took the chance because this is one of the most talented women I have ever met! She didn't start chopping my hair like most hairdressers, she cut little bits at a time and asked me if I wanted to cut more. I felt so comfortable and at ease with her. I called Angela at Salon O to see if she could save my hair and my sanity (I saw her Instagram photos and new she was the one who could fix this mess). She graciously took me in right away and said she's here to help me. She reviewed my hair color (bright red) and came up with suggestions on how to make it look better and me happy. WOW! I just got home and had to write this review, I can't stop looking at myself in the mirror!!! I can't even begin to express how amazing my experience here was. I haven't gotten my hair cut in over a year and haven't gotten it colored in about twice as long. The staff was amazing. I had ombre color put into my hair and it looks absolutely FANTASTIC! I can't say enough how pleased I was with the level of care and service at this salon. Everyone was incredibly pleasant and professional. This review is long overdue as I've been going to Salon O for years! Besides being a beautiful salon, the staff and stylists are so welcoming and make you feel at home the moment you walk in. There hasn't been a time when I wasn't offered a beverage (coffee, tea, water, soda, wine, etc) immediately after sitting down. I always look forward to getting my highlights with Jill...she is the absolute sweetest, and always does a phenomenal job. While I've only used Jill for color, I've had multiple stylists (Brian, Louis, Justin) cut and blow dry my hair, and would trust anyone in the salon. All are detail oriented and make sure they know what you want before they start styling your hair. After a horrible experience at another salon, I am waiting for my hair to grow back so I can get it corrected back at Salon O. Never again will I trust anyone else with my hair! I am home for the summer and I was in desperate need of a haircut. Being that my regular lady is all the way back in Oregon, I had to find somewhere local. Most hair salons are not open on Sunday so that narrowed down my search a lot. Salon O was open, nearby, and I called them do see if they had an appointment and they told me to come in a half hour. Very easy to find and right on Jericho Turnpike. Walked in was greeted by the receptionist and sat down. The Salon itself is very classy and attractively decorated. Waited no more than 10 minutes before Louis introduced himself. Super friendly guy, listened to what I wanted, and executed it perfectly. Wash, cut, blow dry $55. It's a little pricey but then again it's Long Island (Syosset area to be more precise) and this is how much every place chargers unless you go to one of the chain hair cutting places. I was very happy with my haircut! And ask for Louis, he is a good conversationalist and not in the awkward way where they feel obligated to strike up a conversation that ultimately ends in random silence 2 minutes into your haircut. read more

This salon is below normal standards. Sadly they fill in people left right and center. Quick job poorly done and move to the chairs on the side. They rushed me out with my root touch up, with color dropping through my neck to shirt. Even the wash was done poorly. Oh how terrible can some one be with their quality to work. Although Owner seems nice but she must watch her employees if the jobs done right or not or else they will loose their customers and reputation both. I'm never going back ever!!!! read more
