Classic Spokane haunt. I have many fond memories of my grandfather taking me here for pizza as a child. I returned recently to find it much the same. We have been to PI 3 times now while we have been staying at the hospital where our baby is sick. When we need to go for a walk and take a breath this is where we have been going. I'm 70 years old and I've been going to the PI since I was 21!!! All my classmates would meet up there whether for a rehearsal dinner or a class reunion. We even met up at the PI on each Christmas Break, Spring Break, Summer Break during college. The PI has the friendliest atmosphere and a family setting off to one side if you want to eat burgers or pizza with the kids (or grandkids!!!). Be sure to try the ML Special pizza named for Mary Lou who ran the kitchen many years ago. Mary Lou is gone but the pizza is still one of the very best!!! read more

We stopped here last Tuesday because of the good things I have heard of this place and we were at the hospital visiting family. As we walked in I noticed that most of the people there were members of the geriatric brigade, not a big deal being that I am enrolling into the grey hair club for men these days. We sat down, ordered drinks, and some dinner. My wife ordered the Nachos which were fine, the only reason this is 3 not 2 stars, and I ordered the Patty melt. This is where I was really disappointed. I did ask the girl how it was and she said they were good. I would guess that would be a relative term, If I was comparing the hamburger patties to the desk I am sitting at in the moisture department.then we would be right on point. What I received was a grilled Swiss cheese sandwich with a couple of preformed frozen cooked to they are dried out completely hamburger patties, and some grilled onions. The sad thing is that the manager came to clear our plates and didn't even ask how it was. Almost like he knew how bad it was. My wife asked if we would come back to the Park Inn and told her that if we are in the area and just wanted a drink, then fine. But I will not be driving out of my way to come to this establishment. read more

This place is a local watering hole and when Mike, Steve and Chris were there it was legendary! A place to go where everyone knows your name kind of place. And cheap, strong drinks! Went there last night after not having been in years for a friend's bday. I ordered 2 large pizzas, mini corn dogs, jo's, and a double burger for the table. I wasn't sure if we needed one or two orders of the mini corn dogs for the table so I asked how many come in an order- he said he didn't know. I must have had a confused look on my face so he "clarified" by saying he didn't know because it's served by the pound. Again, about how many?? 3 pieces, 10 pieces, 20?? he said again he didn't know (!!), so he asked a server who happened to be walking by and she said "I don't know they're by the pound." Good Lord seriously?? I am about to cancel it when the other bar tender finally says they come with about 13-16 pieces (or some variation of that). FINALLY!! How hard is it to sell food to someone?!?!?!? So I give the bar back my card to pay and he goes over to the till only to come back and ask if I want to leave it open to which I reply no thanks, I think that's enough food. He seems a little upset and says he really wants me to leave it open "in case something happens." Excuse me?? "in case something happens, what does that mean?" He says, "well in case they forget something on your order." Huh?? Come again?? "in case they forget part of my order?" I ask, very confused. He says, "I know it seems weird but a receipt might fall on the floor and then if I have to refund your order it's easier if your card is left open." By now I am just beyond perplexed as I have never heard this before in the thousands of ordering experiences I've had in my life, let alone in all of the customer service jobs I've had as a youth taking orders. I think this is either highly suspicious, as in no way in h--- I'm leaving my credit card with this person, OR I am fully living and experiencing "idiocracy". I don't have enough words to explain how completely terrible this is for a business. If this was my business I would want to know that I have an employee who is basically telling customers the kitchen service stinks and if something goes wrong he is incapable of fixing it and taking care of me. If something is forgotten on the order, guess what?? Have them fire it immediately and bring it our after it's been made. Or offer me a refund if i don't want to wait. It's called customer service, basic customer service. I hope the owner reads this and can either train this person or move them to a different position where he doesn't interact with customers. Hopefully it's just a training issue. But wow!! Probably start with telling them about how many corn dogs come in a pound!! And never say "I don't know" to a customer. read more

I spent some time at the Providence Sacred Heart hospital. The Park Inn is just across the street so I walked over for dinner. The building was full of people but I found an open stool at the bar. The tap list is written on the wall over the bar, and it was hard to choose because they had some great beers on tap. The bartender was there right away and I quickly had a beer and a menu in front of me. They had a special menu enclosure for Oktoberfest, and I ordered the veal schnitzel. I thought the meal was a little greasy but very flavorful and a good companion to the beer. Yes, I would order it again. The employees seemed content and competent, with a good camaraderie buzz among staff. The guy next to me at the bar whined to the bartender about the size of his sandwich (it was too big) and she handled it really well. I wouldn't want to try to have a conversation there because it was loud with a zillion comfortable conversations going on at once, but it was perfect for me that night. I watched sports on a TV over the bar while I enjoyed my meal. I hope I get back to Park Inn again. read more

Park Inn serves unbelievably yummy food. My mother used to live next door to Park Inn many years ago, and often got their pizza. Fast forward decades later, and we still hit up the Park Inn whenever we're in town. The place definitely shows its age, but don't let that deter you. Their menu is full of amazing, classic American food, including enormous homemade chili cheese burgers (seriously, don't think you're going to polish this thing off in one sitting!), chili dogs, broasted chicken, and several different types of deli sandwiches. The star, though, is their pizza. It is so stupidly delicious. The crust is ultra thin and crispy, with wonderful sauce, high quality meat and veggie toppings, and tons of mozzarella cheese. The edges get ever-so-slightly burnt, but in a good way. They have a few different combinations on the menu, or you can pick your individual toppings. Our favorite toppings are sausage, onion, and mushroom. It's all very reasonably priced at $23 for a large, three topping pizza. The large is more than enough to satisfy three adults! The pizza does take much longer than other items on the menu, so even if you're planning on eating in the restaurant, it's a good idea to call your order in ahead of time so it'll be almost ready for you when you arrive. The service is always wonderful. While occasionally it can be on the slower side, especially if they're busy, everyone is always friendly. This past time, we planned on stopping in for lunch on our way back out of town. However, because it was so hot and I couldn't leave my dog in the car, we had to get the pizza to go. We called in our order, and by the time we arrived it was ready. The gal gave us styrofoam cups with ice for our drinks, a small stack of napkins, and a few paper plates so we were ready to eat on the road! Overall, I cannot recommend Park Inn enough. No matter where you are from you can feel right at home when you go to the Park Inn. My boyfriend were visiting Spokane for the weekend and had a truely horrible experience at a bar across the street and were about to call it a night when we decided to try one more place and hopefully end up enjoying the evening. We sat down at the u-shaped bar and we were served right away. It also made us very happy to find out that a pitcher of beer at the Park Inn was less than a glass of beer at the place across the street. We spent the rest of the night at the P.I. and were so happy we did. Everyone was so friendly and really made us feel welcome. I know for sure that we will go back to the Park Inn if we are ever in Spokane again. I think we might even make it one of the destinations on our next road trip east. I used to love this place. We went there today for my daughter's birthday-party of seven. They said the place...the entire place was reserved. No sign, nothing on their website to let people know. From what I experienced from my one visit to the Park Inn, I was impressed. The staff I interacted with were both very helpful and pleasant. I didn't get a good look around this bar because I was so focused on the Zag's B-Ball beating Saint Mary's for the WCC. From what I noticed it was a cozy little spot with some good beers on tap. They had mini pitchers which were about two and a half beers for like $7 bucks. My wife and I shared two Elysian Space Dust IPA mini's which were cold and delicious. I forgot this beer was a little over 8% ABV, but cheers to catching a nice buzz on a Tuesday night! You don't need to go up to the bar to place an order, they will come to you. Overall, when we got our tab after eating and drinking, we were surprised at how cheap it was, so that's always a good thing. read more

This is a neighborhood pub in Spokane just down the hill from the hospital. Looks kind of plain from the outside, but nice inside with padded stools, neon beer signs and 4 tv screens. Dark wood panelling on ceiling and walls. Not modern but neighborhood feel. Had a roast beef sandwich on dark rye. Was amazing. They cook their roast beef in house! Comes with lettuce, cheddar cheese, tomato and onions. You can get a small pitchers for $6. The pizza is reportedly also good. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Two thumbs up. read more

Been going to the PI for over 50 years to get their legendary pizza. It recently changed owners. Went there yesterday and was deeply disappointed. Crust was burned black, hard as a rock, barely chewable, the pies shrank on the platter, there was way less cheese and way overpriced. Very sad read more

We did not have a lot of options and decided to give this place a shot. I live in Spokane and never get the chance to come here, so I thought it was a great opportunity. When I called to place a to go order, I was immediately greeted by a woman who sounded annoyed with me. She let me know that they were slammed and that it was going to take over an hour for any to go orders. I would have been Completely OK waiting... Seeing that we obviously had nowhere to go for the rest of the night. Instead of having great customer service and explaining that they were pretty busy, but could get my food done in a certain amount of time, she just said "so do you still want to order or not"... Kokanee Gold by the pitcher, free popcorn, video game bowling AND golf, and a pinball machine? how can you go wrong? supposedly this place has food and there is even a restaurant side, but I've only ever been to the bar side. The nachos are huge and tasty, and the pizza is often kind of burned but still delicious (or maybe it's after a few pitchers that it is so delicious?). this is a great place for watching a game or getting together with 50 of your best friends. my most helpful tip is to not let go of your pitcher on a crowded night; often they run out and then you are SOL if you don't have one already. read more
