(Why would you want to chance getting hooked or tangled by someone's fishing line?) They've brought in sand for a makeshift beach which is nicer than sitting on rocks. The NO'S are as follows: No dogs, or other animals allowed. No bicycles, scooters, skateboards, rollerblades, roller skates No ATV's, motorcycles, motorized vehicles. No fires, fireworks No alcohol, No smoking, No e-cigarettes, and definitely no chewing tobacco. One nice thing about the reservoir is there are several hiking trails close by, but be careful... this is bear country according to the many signs that warn you.

Where is the shade? Ha! NOTE: the water is quite cold; we predicted about 60 degrees. Too cold for me but my kids enjoyed it on this 100 degree day! I appreciate any effort on the city to bring local parks and ponds for the public to enjoy.

Once through the paths, you come out to the small-ish lake where there's a path that leads you all the way around, with plenty of opportunities to go back out to another path. It was semi-busy when we went during a weekday afternoon, but we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. I'd like to come back with my bike and to bring my dog back to possibly swim. I saw a swimming area, but people were fishing nearby, and I knew that my dog would ruin their game! Lovely for a solo / family or date outing on a sunny afternoon or sunsetting evening.

As I understand, the hot springs are on private property, but the owner is ok with people visiting as long as they are respectful of the land and get out at 10pm. You park in the parking lot and then walk a few minutes through the trees until you get to the hot springs. There are some areas that are hotter than others and when you find the "hot spots" it's fun to sink your feet and legs into the pit. It's as close to quicksand than I've ever experienced.

There are bathrooms and also a playground for the kids. They have this cool train you can play on as well. The only thing I didn't see is a fire pit or grill to BBQ. There are a few other spots nearby that have these if you want.

I love to camp. Usually I just find a spot off a dirt road and call it good. However I do camp…read morewith people who like the comforts of an established campground. Current Creek campground is a large place with 4 loops. My favorite is D loop because it's closest to the lake. Bathrooms have flush toilets but no showers. Each camp site has a picnic table, grill, fire pit and concrete pad. The camp host station sells ice, firewood and some bare essentials. The star of the show is the lake. Usually you'll find me sitting on the shore waiting for a fish to bite. I've caught rainbows and tiger trout. But even if you don't catch anything the views are spectacular. If you should get lucky and decide to keep your catch there is a fish cleaning station by the boat ramp. Directions, there are 3 ways to get there all involve a bit of graded dirt road. You can take hwy 40 to the Current Creek Road and drive up next to the river, then around the lake. Next option is to turn off hwy 40 at the chicken creek area and take FS road #82. The turn is just before the UDOT facility. Lastly you can take center street from Heber past the Timber Lakes community. There is no cell phone service at the lake or campground. :)
