This is an area we are unfamiliar with and let alone we ended up pulling into this sketchy area as it was the closest off the freeway. It was so scary and we had to abandon our vehicle due to not being able to get roadside service right away. My family and I had to leave our vehicle behind an alley and run to find a safe place to find a tow company. I called a few places and they told them our situation and they were quoting $600+ plus to tow and drive us back to the Valley. I ended up finding Hawks via Yelp and decided to give them a call. I ended up speaking with a nice individual and he quoted us half the price. They came to our rescue and had to bring a flatbed due to the type of vehicle we had. He drove us all the way from Lynwood to the Valley. After going through such a traumatic and sad incident with my Father the Owner of Hawks drove us to our house safely he was kind, compassionate, he kept my sons spirits up and made us feel at ease and just safe. I was so impressed by the excellent service I received. The street the truck had to be towed from was a two way busy street in Downey on Downey Ave. I didn't know how the truck was going to be able to get towed since the traffic in the evening there never stops and the position the truck was parked made it seem it would be difficult. AM PM Towing gets there and Richard helps us, it took him less than 10 minutes to get the truck onto his tow truck. I was so amazed by how fast he did evening. He was very kind and professional. My first experience with A&F towing was great but unfortunately my last two have had consistent…read moreissues. During both recent experiences, the AAA virtual assistant said the technician had arrived, but the technician was nowhere to be found. Only after waiting 15-20 minutes did the technician call to say he was at the location and after confirming the address, he stated both times, "the navigation took me to the back street". I didn't catch the name of the first technician but the recent one was Merschad. I suspect he was the technician in the first poor experience due to the same line being used. On top of wasting time by sitting around not actually servicing peoples cars, the technician charged a $50 labor fee. When calling A&F directly, they claimed that independent vendors had the right to charge fees due to a need of special equipment. The car being serviced is a Honda Accord. What special equipment do you need to change a battery aside from a wrench... Overall I am very disappointed in the low level of professionalism by this technician. Having to wait is understandable. Being forced to wait even longer because the technician wants to sit in his car is inexcusable.
