Alexa, out server was kind and engaging, keeping us hydrated as we snacked on wings and Parmesan Truffle Fries. We moved inside for some Modelo's on draft. First of all, being situated in the Royal Park Hotel only adds to the charm of the location, especially at the holidays when everything is decked out for the season. Park 600 itself is a lovely spot, while it doesn't match the level of the hotel, still lovely. The menu caters to breakfast, lunch and dinner, so you can eat at any time throughout the day and they have a pretty decent cocktail program that adapts to the season/trends that keep the menu fresh. They of course can make many of your favorite drinks and they have an ok wine selection also. The food has always been very good here. I have never had a bad experience and have always left very content. The meals are rich, full of flavor and very well done. I think the price points on the menu are a little over the top, but for a hotel restaurant, probably on par. read more

The Spookeasy popup was such a frighteningly fun event! Lines are long with limited seating, but it's worth the wait. Dressing up in costume is not required and kids are allowed. Limited food and drink menu - the popcorn was to die for. The decor is drop dead gorgeous - we can't wait to return for the Holiday popup. Important to note: We also went earlier in the week, on Monday, and the Spookeasy room was not open, which was a bummer. We ate in the normal restaurant area and the perk there was that kids eat free on Mondays. Beef tips were ok. They say it's served with focaccia, but it doesn't at all resemble that. Gorgeous hotel bar beautifully decorated from mid November to January for Christmas with delightful themed cocktails. They serve a limited menu during the pop up but rest assured it's all very good. We walked in the park600 restaurant at around 10:30 PM on NYE. The kitchen was closed at 10 PM but they were serving pizzas and of-course the bar was open. We ordered the wild mushroom oven fired pizza. The oven was located at one end of the restaurant and I enjoyed watching pizza in the making. It had a decent spread of arugula and truffle oil and was delicious.They also brought fries upon request. We enjoyed our dinner and drinks but the star of the show was our dessert - Cranberry orange Panna cotta which was rightly recommended by our server All tables were served with complimentary champagne which set up just the right mood for a quick midnight toast. Our server was extremely polite and professional. The decor was beautiful and for the level of service and quality of food, I found the prices reasonable. Kitchen was closed by the time we reached but wood fired pizza was open We ordered wild mushroom pizza and waiter was kind enough to take our fries order as well. Always, 'a pleasure' to visit the Royal Park Hotel for something to do. Elle our server made us feel very welcomed. Very personable and one could tell she enjoyed being around people. Brunch on Sunday was our mealplan. No buffet was offered but what the limited menu had was DELICIOUS. Starting with the Bananas Foster French Toast (two of us had) a Country Breakfast (Eggs came out wrong, but not bad enough to send back) and a Eggs Benedict. Came to Park 600 to celebrate our anniversary. My husband made reservations and also let them know what we were celebrating. He said it was easy to make reservations. Parking is the same as the hotel, so you may have to park in the structure. Parking is free. The restaurant is in the front of the hotel. When we arrived the hostess wished us a happy anniversary. Seating is either inside where the bar is or outside the bar area and by the windows that look out either to the parking lot or creek. Staff was friendly and attentive. Great drink and food menu! Even had some non-alcohol drinks - I got the Peach Mint Palmer and it was so refreshing! Got the French onion soup and sadly wasn't impressed. Not much depth of flavor and the broth to substance ratios were off. Both ordered the burger and upgraded to truffle fries. The burger was cooked well and delicious. The truffle fries were equally good and seasoned nicely. For dessert we were treated to a Chocolate Tuxedo Cheesecake. Very nice touch of having Happy Anniversary written in chocolate! The cheesecake was smooth and very rich. Park 600 is unique in that you can come for a casual meal or to celebrate something special. It's pricey though! read more

I've been meaning to write a review for this place as I've been so many times. I always loved Park 600 and would have given it 5 stars, but our last visit a few nights ago left a bad taste in our mouthes, pun intended. So giving it 4 stars based on all visits overall. Service and food used to be the best, but it took over 50 minutes to get our first appetizer, and it was a slow night. Our server was nice enough to take it upon herself to take it off the bill at the end, but she wasn't nice enough to check on us at all after the rest of the food came out. We felt like she got annoyed with us customizing a drink (and we weren't even being picky or asking for much) so she left us hanging for the rest of the night. Their pizzas are on a separate menu that we had to ask for, and it took about 20 minutes for someone to bring that menu out after asking for it twice. Food has always been great, but they constantly change their menus and get rid of their best items, so none of our favorites were on the menu this time, even the pizzas. The 600 burger didn't have any flavor and the bread on it tasted stale. Calamari was just okay. Parmesan Truffle Fries had no Parmesan or truffle flavor (you can even tell the difference in the seasoning of the fries from my picture a few days ago and the picture from last summer, even the aioli sauce). This is an update to Park 600 and a review of the Christmas pop up. We originally planned to go down to see the tree lightening but it was windy and yucky and we chickened out. Lol. First of all, if you want to go to Park 600 make sure you make reservations. This place gets very busy particularly on the weekends. The service is typically a bit slow but everyone is kind. We ordered drinks and mine came out right away. For some reason, a single pour of bourbon took a really long time. We got our French onion soup, and his bourbon finally came. By this time I was ready for my second drink. Not even two minutes later, our main dishes came. What on earth? W restaurant of this caliber and prices should know to bring the main dish some time after the soup or salad. So by the time I finished my soup, my chicken Marsala was ice cold. I almost asked them to microwave it but I am always afraid to send food back. I was done eating by the time my wine came. Keep in mind, drinks are a minimum of $15 and meals are anywhere from $28-60. I expect better. We went across the hall and stood in the very long line for the Christmas pop up. It went surprisingly quick. I think most people come and order two drinks and leave. So the wait is not terrible. They do have snacks if you're hungry. I highly recommend the the gingerbread old fashioned. This was delicious. I loved the decorations and the Grinch themed section. I am a big Grinch fan so this made me smile. As predicted, we had two drinks each and left. This was a great way to get in the spirit of the season! Check it out! read more

I last visited this restaurant 11 years ago and it was much more upscale venue. Unfortunately , the restaurant has become much more casual dining but prices for entrees are still priced in the $25-45 price range. Had the seafood platter for an appetizer which had an amazing smoked trout and white fish pate. For an entree had the Ginger Sesame-Seared Salmon which was served overcooked. The server was very apologetic and once she had it corrected the dish was very good. My date had the Miso Black Cod. The Miso sauce was delicious and was paired perfectly with Kimchi forbidden rice. I was a little skeptical coming here since the reviews weren't that great, and I honestly don't see why this place wasn't rated higher. Yes it is more on the higher price scale but this is a restaurant inside the royal park hotel right in downtown so...either way it was worth it to us! Steak bites are a MUST! Beautiful location, delicious food and drink, understaffed when we were there but very friendly staff. We were able to walk up in the early afternoon and were immediately seated. The staff was very kind but service was slow - they let us know they were understaffed which is understandable. At the end of our meal, we ended up walking to the front to close out our tab and they were kind enough to comp a couple items for the inconvenience, which we didn't even ask them to do, so that was greatly appreciated. The food was excellent. We were early enough to enjoy the brunch menu. The eggs on the Smoked Salmon eggs Benedict were perfection, potatoes could be a bit crispier. The Bacon Chicken Ranch pizza was tasty, but a bit salty. The bread and oil were the perfect touch. We also got a pomegranate martini and an espresso martini which were both delicious. Their espresso machine was down so hot coffee was not an option but hot tea sufficed. Unfortunately they didn't have the beignets, which we were hoping to try. When you come here, you should definitely make a reservation because it seems like it gets very busy especially on the weekends. We had a reservation at 7 and our table wasn't ready til a few minutes after we got there. Our server was very nice and personable! And our food was amazing! I got the calamari and cranberry kale salad with seared salmon. Both were delicious! The half size of the kale salad was definitely enough for me paired with the calamari. Outstanding service. The food was delicious. We sat outside and had a beautiful view of the river and surrounding area. In addition to the fine breakfast, the hotel accommodated our group when we were not able to go to a restaurant when a transformer had blown. Beautifully set inside the Royal Park hotel. The hours are always changing due to the pandemic. Check before you go. Vegan pot pie is more like soup. Two squares of phyllo dough as the "top". And this is the ONE vegan option on the menu. Barrel aged Negronis are long gone. Most menu drinks have Makers Mark (they clearly have a contract with this distillery or distributor now). I would not get a Negroni from here again. The ones from years ago were actually good. It's pretty loud and cavernous. You have to yell to other people in your party. Though the patio seating is nice in the warmer months. Expensive and just okay per the omnivores in our party. If you are staying at the hotel, you have a good and drink option. Don't recommend driving in for a special trip to this restaurant and bar. read more

The food was yummy for the event and we learned from the chef about plating too. We ordered a Mediterranean quinoa falafel Nike with seared blackened salmon, Parmesan truffle fries, crispy cauliflower, sauté of wild forest mushrooms. Isaac is the coolest, friendliest bartender, he would bring us our food, drinks and would often break out in dance too. The Mediterranean salmon bowl was good with the beet root hummus. Royal Park is offering a Holiday Pop-up Bar Thursday-Sat until 12/31 and it is GORGEOUS! There are no reservations and first come, first serve but even for a Saturday night, I only waited about 30 min and it was worth it! You feel like you've stepped into a whimsical, Christmas wonderland as soon as you walk in! They were considerably busy but the service was friendly and prompt, and the drinks are festive and strong! This review is for the High Tea: Back when the Royal park did High Tea year around the service was exceptional and the amount of sandwiches, the scone size and dessert variety was amazing. They bought back the high tea for a short time during this holiday season which we were very excited for as we had missed it while it was on hiatus and we were not impressed especially since the price was raised dramatically. The tea is now only at 2 times (11am and 1pm) which means everyone is being seated at roughly the same time and it took forever for us to be served our champagne and to select our teas, there wasn't even water or water glasses set at the table. We were thirsty and had nothing for drink for over 15 mins while we waited for staff to finally come to our table. We ended up starting to eat our food before we even had beverages because the wait was so long. Back in the day, the table would be pre set with the champagne and there would be water on the tables and they could quickly help you pick your tea(s) and this service could be provide because seating times were staggered. They had far to few staff to handle a bulk seating. The sandwiches were still the same good quality though you only get one hot item instead of 2. The scones were laughable small (the size of quarters and only per person). The tea tray for the desserts had the cheapest options - chocolate covered strawberries, mini quarter sized muffins and some sort of honey tart. It made for a very sad show. They did eventually bring out 2 additional desserts but it was well after we had finished everything on the tea tray. For $72 dollars a person I expected the same great service and exceptional food. This fell far below the mark and I don't think I can recommend it to anyone at this point in time. If it was staffed better and the food selections improved I would consider going again. read more

My dish, Brazilian steak kabobs, leaned heavily on spice almost masking the flavor of the meat. A requested medium well done plate ranged to almost rare (did they cut back on the flame??). My wife's dish, a chicken scallopinni facsimile, was not thin (was this be kind to poultry week?), and instead of artichoke hearts, baby spinach leaves were substituted (neither noted in the description or by the server). I suggest that a visit here recommends you be careful what you ask for and ask a lot of questions since it seems they are still sorting things out. read more

Leave room for desert! Amazing meal, the Lobster Ravioli wasn't just ravioli but had a lobster tail too. The flavors were great, the service first rate. But then came desert... The pastry chief Sonya, is an actual French Pastry Chef with real French accent. It doesn't get more authentic than that. The best Creme Brule we've ever had with berries and macaroon. Her creation of a Snickers cake had a moist dark chocolate cake with a dome of hard chocolate filled with creamy peanut-buttery goodness. The Opera cake was light and delicious. I don't get out to Rochester often, living in Ann Arbor, but when I do I always make a beeline for Park 600, especially in the summer months when you can take advantage of that gorgeous terrace overlooking the creek. Love finishing my meal with a lovely stroll by the water too. Most recently I enjoyed their delicious quesadillas and a cocktail at the bar between meetings in the area. The quesadilla was delicious and filled beyond just chicken and cheese. So fresh and delivered to me so quickly out of the kitchen that I had to wait a moment before I could dig in because the food was so hot. Not a bad problem to have, although it was torture waiting! The cocktails? Excellent. The desserts? MIND BLOWING. I'd go back there for those alone. Other highlights? The pizza and the deviled eggs, which I've definitely ordered on more than one occasion. We were staying at the hotel and went to the bar for a cocktail & pizza. The lighting was very bright and cold white making the ambiance cold & unwelcoming. There was a fireplace but it was completely hidden by the huge open & extremely messy bar. There was a large bowl of semi peeled citrus fruits on the bar itself and the ones at the bottom were moldy. The bar tender was courteous and our drinks were served promptly. We saw our pizza going in and out of the massive pizza oven which competes with the bar for dominance. Then the pizza vanished. It showed up in front of us 15 minutes later, swimming in oil, burned and cold. We took a few bites of the small area of pizza with solidified cheese and left the rest. We sat at the bar & there were dirty tables around and a loud obnoxious couple holding court. It was a really disappointing experience. The place could be so much nicer with a neater bar arrangement, adding nooks, & better lighting.
