Maybe the best haircut I have ever had…read more Paul and Tracey, and assistant James, could not have been any nicer if they tried. And they did (I need to stop refusing tea from people). The decor is also very inviting, with lots of light pouring in from the huge windows. A solid consultation kicked things off after an old fashioned handshake (another fail from me there), then the best part of a full hour dedicated to what hair I have left. Including my beard. Lots of great tips along the way on shampoos, styling, etc. Really feel like I got my moneys worth, as they say. There are so many hairdressers on Argyle Street, especially when you go down a bit further towards the city centre. But this is certainly one of the best, at least from my experience. It's evident that the staff are thoroughly enthusiastic, which is what can elevate a routine haircut to something a bit more social and fun. Assuming you like that sort of thing. No card machine as of yet, but there is an ATM across the road, so don't despair.

I visited this salon for the first time a couple of months ago. Paul cut my hair, I can't remember…read morewho washed it, but I have to say the salon is a breath of fresh air. It's got it's own vibe, such a friendly team, and a lovely salon. Paul and I reminisced about some common places from our past in London he let slip he has quite a glamorous past, working on fashion shows, and with some of the top stylists in London. It shows. Everyone complimented me on my new look, and my best friend said, "it's the best haircut you've ever had". BTW, this is my first online review, so I really am pleased.

Payday had come, and so had the desire to get my yearly hair cut... (I hate haircuts since I got a…read morebad one several years ago). I've never been loyal to a hair dresser before, except back in the young days when my mum took me to the same place every time before I was old enough to pay for my own hair cuts but I really enjoyed my experience with Lynne, the owner of the salon. You guys that know me, know that I am pretty poor so I was on the look out for a cut and blow dry that wasn't going to cost me a fortune and I found it at Hands On. I initialy came here on my last stop at every local hair dressers to me as everyone else didn't have rokm at the inn. Upon entry I was greeted by a young woman who kindly told me that they could fit me in right away and I was seated for a short wait couple of minutes until my hair dresser was finished her lunch break. Shortly afterwards, I was seated in front of the mirror and Lynne gave me a broef consulation on my hair and asked me what it was I wanted. Me not being fussed, I let her have at it since she's the professional and I don't have the first clue. I got my hair washed (heavenly) and trimmed to good health then dried by the granny dryer and then a quick blow dry and we left my hair in it's natural curly style all the while I munched a biscuit and had some coffee. :-) I'm definitely coming here again as it was cheap, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable!

I was in desperate need for a last minute cut, as i'm leaving town with my boyfriends family in a…read morefew hours. I walked all around the Partick area, and decided to try Tina Reilly for a stand by cut. The receptionist said there was availability and to take a seat! Get in!!! The salon itself is small, with a total of about 5 chairs. It has an upmarket look with a locals feel to it. Classy blacks and silvers through out, it's a nice place. I was only sitting for about 5 minutes before the receptionist took me back to get my hair washed. I was a bit mortified at the thought of not having a wee consult with the stylist before getting my hair cut. For those of you who have seen my hair, there's a lot there, and who ever is going to cut it needs to see what he/she's in for. Oh well, to the washing! Nothing fancy to speak of, but the way she dried my hair was a bit on the comical side. i felt like I was a dog and she was drying my long shaggy fur. I mean, I know i have really thick hair, but c'mon! Lighten up on the scrubbing! She sat me down at a chair and along came Emma. Oh Emma. I'm always weary of new stylists, but I've definitely found a diamond in the rough here. Very unassuming, she may even be a new stylist (I failed to ask), but once she combed out my hair, she asked what it was I was looking for. My typical response is "I'm growing my hair out, but it's at that blah phase- can you layer it?" Soon there after, i usually regret uttering the words "layer" because I usually walk out of a salon with "shelf" hair. What is "shelf" hair you might be wondering? It's when a stylist layers my hair, all one layer and it's like my hair has a shelf in it. It's hideous and i want to cry until it's grown out. I kid..... Anyway, Emma went at my hair like a baker to a cake, cutting and trimming and layering with ease. Wisps of wet hair fell to my lap, 2 inches at a time. I held my breath thinking that i might leave yet another salon mourning the loss of my hair, but I just let her go. If there's one thing I've learned in my many years of hair cuts, HAIR GROWS BACK. She finished and said she was going to dry it to see if it needed more layering. That's when my smile grew! She is a master hair cutter, dryer and straightener in my eyes!! My hair was perfect. Like the women on the streets who's hair i envy...mine now looks like that! Now, if i can recreate the way I look now tomorrow, once I've washed my hair again. Emma is a blessing, and you should recommend her if ever you are looking for a great hair cut! I will definitely be back!
