You sometimes have to wait if there's a bit of a queue but there are always at least two people cutting hair, and quite often it's dry cuts, so it won't be for long. The salon is inside the indoor market opposite The Galleon Centre, just 5 minutes walk from the town centre. Dry cuts are from £10, cut and blow dry £22, wet cut from £15, shampoo and set £15; there are different perms available, foil mesh highlights and tinting. Cheaper rates for OAPs and between Monday and Thursday.

A beauty room has now been added to back of shop when It was refurbished and this makes things so easy as you can get your treatments and hair done in the one premises. You really can go to Blades and be confident you get what you ask for, never ever been disappointed with a cut or colour from Cherie who has worked for the company 20 odd years after training with the owner Lorraine as a Saturday girl. it's defiantly Blades all the way for me for quality of product and value for money.
