I've never been loyal to a hair dresser before, except back in the young days when my mum took me to the same place every time before I was old enough to pay for my own hair cuts but I really enjoyed my experience with Lynne, the owner of the salon. You guys that know me, know that I am pretty poor so I was on the look out for a cut and blow dry that wasn't going to cost me a fortune and I found it at Hands On. I initialy came here on my last stop at every local hair dressers to me as everyone else didn't have rokm at the inn. Upon entry I was greeted by a young woman who kindly told me that they could fit me in right away and I was seated for a short wait couple of minutes until my hair dresser was finished her lunch break. Shortly afterwards, I was seated in front of the mirror and Lynne gave me a broef consulation on my hair and asked me what it was I wanted. Me not being fussed, I let her have at it since she's the professional and I don't have the first clue. I got my hair washed (heavenly) and trimmed to good health then dried by the granny dryer and then a quick blow dry and we left my hair in it's natural curly style all the while I munched a biscuit and had some coffee. :-) I'm definitely coming here again as it was cheap, the staff were friendly and knowledgeable!

my usual barber (who used to work here but now has his own shop) was busy so I went in here for a…read morefull head open razor shave. what a disaster from start to finish. the short member of staff was rather fragrant in his body oder which matched the face cloths being used. There was even hair on the cloths. Not mine I hasten to add. The blade used was blunt and hurt like heck. My skin is still raw as I type. They gave me a whole head tint with foils to break up the colour. All the time they were drying and cutting it they kept asking me do you like it? I refused to answer until they had finished but what a result! Fantastic haircut, and anyone that can make my dark brown hair go to blonde and still look totally natural is a miracle worker as far as I am concerned! I went from long hair to a lovely short and sassy haircut done exactly as I had asked them to. My hair was very damaged but they never complained and spent nearly four hours making me look like a 20 year old (I am 42 this year). My husband only likes long hair but even he was very happy with the cut and colour I got. At £45 for all the time and work they put in it was actually a very reasonable amount of money and lots of advice was given for aftercare without the usual trying to sell you things, in fact the girl told me to avoid any hairspray or mousse as they dehydrate your hair which I did not know. So if hairdressers make you come out in hives and you have not been the nicest person to your hair, go to the girl who is an expert at colouring in Lush, she will not make you feel bad instead she will make you feel fabulous!
