Their mochi donuts must have been cooked in old oil that was also too cold because they were greasy and tasted like fair food. The cost of their chilled desserts are also a bit high. Well, I was in Altamonte Springs working on a project and saw this restaurant right next to my original choice for lunch. Of course I had to give them a try. Everyone I talked to was great and attentive. And took their time to explain menu offerings, etc. I went with the B1 - Special Combo with double the meat. Go big or go home. It was really good, yes, it could've used a bit of seasoning, but that is my preference, since I'm a fan of extra seasoned food. Nothing wrong with the sub. The veggies were super fresh as well. Was so good!! They have cell service, bakery options. The lady let me know that those are all made fresh daily in-house. Got a large Vietnamese tea or coffee. It was delicious. I found this spot after doing a random Yelp search for tea when I was in Altamonte. This place came up as the closest spot to where I was it was right across the street. The young man working the register could sense that I was new based off my questions so he recommended the Lychee fresh tea, you have to choose a base tea (green or black) he recommended green tea because it's less bitter. I ate the pastry and begin drinking my tea right away. Both were delicious. The sandwich I ate once I got home it was good very filling. The service is always fantastic as they are quick to acknowledge you and help with suggestions if you're new to Boba and Banh Mi sandwiches. I ordered the grilled pork Banh Mi and while the sandwich had all the components of what Banh Mi is supposed to have (pickled veggies, pate, mayo, fresh bread, fresh cooked meat, fresh veggies), the flavors were lacking. I'm Laotian and our flavors of sweet, savory and umami are very similar to Vietnamese cuisine. And if you go to a good Vietnamese restaurant, their food will be well seasoned and have those sweet, savory, umami flavors in their cooking. You can taste the lemongrass marinade on the grilled pork that Vietnamese meats are known for, but that was about it. It really lacked seasoning and it almost feels like they are toning down the flavors for the demographic of people who don't season their food lol. I stopped by the bakery/restaurant on Friday, December 16, 2022. I've been to the original location in the Mills/50 area of Orlando and my curiosity steered me into driving a few miles North. Upon entering I was greeted by a friendly cashier and ordered their Grilled Pork Bahn Mi (minus Jalapenos) and a Vietnamese Coffee. I have to say the sandwich was one of the best versions of the Vietnamese staple I've eaten. The baguette was warm and nicely toasted, the grilled pork was flavorful and the pickled daikon and carrots were freshly cut. It goes without saying the coffee was excellent and potent. Since I came before the lunch rush I also had the wonderful opportunity to speak to the owner of the Altamonte Springs location, Luan, who explained the company's business model and his vision for his particular restaurant. He also wanted me to tour his kitchen and see the operations in the back of the house. I witnessed firsthand the cleanliness of his establishment extended not only to the public dining area but also throughout the entire restaurant. I could see and smell the baked bread and the preparation of ingredients for the various menu items.
