Stopped by today for late lunch. We had 2 awesome platters, beans, salad, baked potato (THE BEST) and sweet tea. Portions were huge and delicious. Will be eating leftovers for dinner tonight and tomorrow. Will freeze the rest. Service was great and prompt! Oh, blue cheese dressing is the BOMB!

Brisket sandwich. Large portion. You can see the massive side of fries too

Lacks in flavor. The portion is too large. You're more paying for quantity than quality.

My son's sprite came out quickly, and the bar drinks followed. I loved my holiday punch drink! The restaurant was still decorated for Christmas, but it made it more charming since we are in town to ski for the weekend. She brought out bread, but it wasn't warm, so that was odd. My son and husband still ate it; I did not. The escargot was ok ; not as good as other places we have had it. The fried deviled eggs were INSANE. We loved them so much. My son got the ribeye and a baked potato. He ordered it medium rare, and it was more on the rare side, but he still enjoyed it. As he kept eating, it cooked up a little bit. He ended the night with a cinnamon roll bread pudding with ice cream and caramel. The server lit a candle in it. Overall, we had a great time!

Had the $8 salad bar and first glance arriving at the bar was.........where is everything. The majority of items were mostly gone or not well stocked. Lettuce had a different taste and ended up not eating it. The homemade pimento cheese was absolutely awesome, in which Joel said we needed to try. Our table order several things; escargot, trout with apparagus, alfredo with sauce, filet mignon, pan blackened chicken with maple brussel sprouts. We each tasted each others foods and the flavors just weren't there for me or our family. If anything, each dish needed salt or a just something. The one time will not deter me from trying again as the atmosphere and service were top notch.

The mozzarella sticks had very little cheese. Two of our steaks were undercooked. One was ordered well and was given rare. The other was ordered medium and was given rare. They did fix them after requested. The steak did not have enough seasoning. About 5 or 6 different servers kept coming to our table every few minutes asking if we needed anything or if they could refill our water. The disruption of conversations from being constantly asked negatively affected our experience. While I understand our reservation was later in the night and that this could have been the reason for this poor experience, I had higher expectations for this steakhouse. Sadly, this was an enough to deter me from coming back. Every server was pleasant though.

Knowing that we only had a few hours to celebrate our anniversary, my father in law told my husband…read more"go take her to The Peddler". He followed those instructions and ended the night saying "that's the best steak I've had in a restaurant". Between the excellent service and food, this was one of the best anniversary meals I've had at a restaurant. We were told to make reservations, and fortunately with the local college in summer session, we were able to select our ideal time slot. Upon arrival, we were promptly seated in their area with a rounded glass wall/ceiling that allowed for a beautiful view of Boone. The restaurant has a warm interior with a mix of wood booths or tables. The rolls they serve at the table reminiscent of the Sister Schubert's yeast rolls, and I was not mad about that. We split the 12 ounce ribeye, and got a side of their French onion soup. It came out with a nicely bubbled and browned layer of cheese covering a piece of bread atop the soup. The entree comes with unlimited salad, and I loved how you got to select your salad on a piece of paper from one of their amazing ready-made selections or they had a create-your-own space. I opted for the Cobb salad. And even after all of that food, we still opted for dessert because why not? We split the Mountain Mama Cinnabun. The massive cinnabun comes out with a nice layer of icing on top and two scoops of vanilla bean ice cream. It was all we could do to eat "two spirals" of the cinnabun and one scoop of ice cream before we had to call it quits. With all of the beautiful scenery, wonderful salads, and expertly prepared entrees, I would say the wait staff equally provided to the excellent experience. We had our dedicated table host, but in addition to that was The Peddler who takes your food order specifically, additional folks who bring out your food, and other servers whose job it is to keep your glass full and table cleared of empty dishes. All of the wait staff were extremely polite and not overbearing. All in all, it was a delightful experience, and I hope to bring more of the family up next time so they can experience that level of service and food too.

I had it with the Cajun cream sauce and blackened salmon. Absolutely delicious!!!! The other dishes were blackend salmon with Pomodoro sauce and the sea bass. For my entree I ordered the Chef's Pasta and opted for the Cajun cream sauce with blackened salmon. The pasta was cooked perfectly and the sauce and salmon made it the perfect combo. Would definitely get this entree again. The service was great and our drinks never ran dry. Our waitress made several suggestions for the table and was super attentive and kind. When I learned this was still around when planning my work trip, I knew I was coming here for dinner. To be honest, I was surprised Johnson City had one because so many of them came and went out of business in Nashville over the years. Nashville is obviously bigger than Johnson City, so I wonder what the secret formula is. Regardless, I'm glad I dined here. Coming in at 8:30p on a Monday meant it was super slow. I was one of 3 patrons that evening. The other table was a couple and the woman didn't even eat. I felt super bad because you had this multi-person wait staff and only 2 guys eating. My waiter did tell me that everything in Johnson City slows down at about 8pm and they were busier earlier in the evening. Regardless, it was a good experience and I'm glad to have supported a locally owned restaurant. Everyone was kind and while it was no Fogo/Texas de Brazil/Rodizio chain in terms of decor, the food was great. My main complaint were the chicken and pork ribs, as they were really dry. The beef however, came out really good every time. For those of you that have been to Brazilian steakhouses, you're familiar with the thin slicing the gauchos do. Well because it was just me, they were able to give me nearly a whole chunk of meat. So I probably ate about "5-6" personal sized steaks. It was also great because I only wanted the picanha, ribeye, and pineapple. They brought those cuts to me every time. I'm debating going again tomorrow just because I haven't been to a Brazilian Steakhouse in over 3 years! I would highly suggest coming here if you like meat.

Was told they ran out and wouldn't be restocking it, so I ordered a Sam lager. Ordered a crock of French onion soup...pretty good but a little too salty. I also ordered a wedge salad with no onions, because when I got it before it was loaded with onions. Before the bartender brought out the salad, he showed the kitchen "no onions" so they had to remade it, but for some very odd reason, whoever made it, loaded it with salt. What's up with that? Whoever is making the salads should probably be trained how to read a slip before just randomly making something. There is salt and pepper grinders at the bar and on the tables, so it's absolutely ridiculous that they would choose to put salt on it to begin with...a ridiculous amount of salt. The bartender, Jeremiah, who was good, asked how everything was and I let him know I couldn't eat the salad. He apologized and a manager came out to check on things and I explained that I have dined here many times and ordered this salad several times before and it never had salt on it. He said something to the effect that it's been prepared this way for a while but was happy to have them make another one or remove it from the bill. I chose to not get another salad. I also choose to never go back to Outback again. Sorry to say, this will be my last time dining here. I was torn between 1 star or 2 stars
