Was in the area for an appt and arrived early. Walked over to Parched as I hadn't had lunch. Didn't really research the store before going in so didnt know what they offered. While smoothies were not ideal in cold weather, still a healthy and quick option. I was greeted as soon as I walked in then asked for a few minutes to peruse the menu. The place is bright and has comfortable seating arranged for groups or individuals. I settled on the Malibu smoothie and was surprised when told that their smoothies come in a glass that I could take with me. They use paper straws which while great for the environment is not exactly sanitary as they're sitting on the counter and not wrapped so anyone can touch them, etc. The lady serving me also put the straw in my smoothie which was ok but maybe better to keep the straws out of sight and offer to guests as needed. The smoothis itself was delicious, not too sweet as you get at other places. The paper straw even held up until the smoothie was gone. If I'm back in the area, would definitely visit again. read more

This shop is California AF. This shop sells two things, smoothies and bowls. They have a small dining area with tables/chairs and couches. You will also find tons of parking available in the private lot that it shares with the other businesses in the strip mall it is located. It it located right next to the military recruiting office. They have some signature smoothies including Sunset Blvd, Newport, Santa Barbara, Malibu, and Calabasas, in addition to a few signature bowls such as an Acai bowl, blue bowl, and dragon bowl. I ordered the Hermosa smoothie, which it took about 10 minutes for them to prepare. Now they serve all of their smoothies in glass cups to save on waste. You can take the glass with you and they have a punch card that they punch when you return the glass. Ten punches (returned glasses) = a free smoothie. If that is California (not just the names of the majority of the smoothies), I do not know what is. My smoothies was pretty good and the staff there was very friendly, patient and helpful. I liked the shop's atmosphere (and did not feel like bring the glass back) so, i decided to dine in and enjoy my treat right there on the spot. For me, this was a wonderful alternative to my usual fast food. I recommend checking this place out. You will not be disappointed. read more

Love love love this for the eastside of Indianapolis. I moved to this side of town early 2022 and I knew I was going to be missing out on the normal places that I liked to go for smoothies/acai bowls until I found Parched! I initially saw their business online on either Instagram or Facebook and I was hooked! A lot of places similar to Parched lack topping options and Parched did not fail me when I saw that they carried Goji berries!! I LOVE Gogi berries for my acai bowls in addition to honey for a sweetener. Everything about their bowls are healthy and refreshing. I typically get bowls to start my mornings since I am not much of a breakfast person. These bowls fill me up for half of my workday :D! If you had told me that I'd find a place like Parched in this corner L-shaped strip center right at East Washington Street and Mitthoeffer, I'd likely have laughed. I know. I know. I might be stereotyping this side of town just a bit, but I've been on Eastsider for quite some time and this retail area has seen everything from a CiCi's Pizza to a spycam shop to a variety of Mexican restaurants and more. However, here we go. I'm wrong. Parched is here and it's incredibly cool. I was in the neighborhood looking for a place to grab a birthday meal and had opted for Art's Skillet on the opposite end of the building. I looked over and saw Parched and had to check it out. Parched is a new kid on the block, a smoothie shop that is sustainable and artsy and even looking to display work by local artists. 100% of their smoothies are served in reusable glass jars with metal lids. As a fun bonus, you're allowed to keep the jars. However, if you return 10 jars then you get a free drink of your choice. Parched cleans and disinfects their returned jars. They go back on their shelves. Thus, they don't waste disposable or single-use products. They also sell reusable, metal straws and give out compostable, paper ones. As someone who's slightly spastic with a disability, I appreciate the lack of a guilt trip over the use of straws while also getting to be sustainable. Parched smoothies are made using fruits, vegetables, and only natural ingredients. There is no artificial crap. The interior is simple yet artsy and fun. They have a flower wall that begs for a photo to be taken. My phone was dead at the time and I have no doubt I'll be heading back in the near future to get that photo. This strip center has a variety of accessible parking spots and curb cuts. It's an older building but generally well kept and seems to be getting a bit of a renewal. They have art on the wall and are aiming for more - most of it is to be for sale. I noticed that they have an upcoming event night for New Pal High School later in October. You can order online. They have 9 different designated smoothies, a handful of add-ons, a couple of juices, juice shots (dine-in only), and some other extras. As I'd just eaten, I avoided a smoothie but can't wait to go back and try one. To be honest, a smoothie probably would have satisfied more than that fritter trying to pass as a tenderloin. I did grab a $5 Venice Beach with pineapple, matcha, and mint. It was a delight and I would easily order it again. In checking out their menu, it's obvious they have something for just about everyone - or at least everyone who embraces juices/smoothies. I'm excited to see Parched. I'll admit that I was surprised to find it here, but it's a welcome addition to the neighborhood with healthy products, a mission of sustainability, great service, a communal spirit, and a warm, hospitable environment. I ordered the hermosa, expected a good smoothie but it tasted like it had No flavor, No sweetness, it tasted like a crayon! My boyfriend ordered a strawberry banana smoothie that was sweet cause they had no smoothie like that and it was barely sweet it was tarty tasting and tasted like coconut mostly. Never would I ever expect to find such a cute little smoothie on the east side of town, but I'm happy that I did! I was very nicely greeted when I entered the building by, I'm assuming, an owner. We made small talk while she made my to go orders. I think my most favorite thing about this place is that they use glass jars and encourage patrons to return them. The smoothies were pretty good and a nice size. She gave us lids and paper straws. It looks like they're putting together some fun events. It is a cute clean little spot in the strip near the Mexican grocery store and the bowls are YUMMY!!! 1 thing I didn't enjoy that I've never had in any other açaí bowl was chunks of either ice or frozen açaí. Second is a suggestion, please add granola as a topping.
