One of the things I really missed after living in California were the açaí and pitaya bowls, laden with fresh fruit, granola, honey, coconut, and just a lot of delicious ingredients that made it so easy to be vegan. So when I discovered that Indy had a place that made açaí bowls I was "shook" (as my students say) and was even more delighted to really I could walk from my apartment! Greenleaf is small, but mighty, and the staff of two to three women are constantly churn out fresh and delicious bowls, smoothies, juices, soups, salads, and cold coffee. I also love the location and can usually visit the hardware store and drop off laundry just before stopping in for food. I love all the açaí bowls, but the Soma, Sunrise, and Majik (with a cup of extra granola) are incredible; this is the kind of food you feel good eating and feel even better later. There is no post/meal crash because the ingredients are wholesome and good for you. While I recently moved out of Indy, I hope this spot endures and feeds the hearts and minds of the next generation of locals and Bulldogs :) read more

Where to start! My friend and I came here after leaving brunch and I was so happy because I thought this location was closed, so when we found out it was open we walked over so fast! Greenleaf is one of the few places in Broad Ripple to get an açaí bowl. While this is typically a staple of the west coast, açaí bowls have permeated their way into the Midwest, thank goodness. Greenleaf is not the best açaí I've ever had, but it is solid. Here's my take: -The portions are pretty good for the price point. -The açaí itself doesn't taste bad, but the flavor isn't anything special. It also melts really quickly. I prefer my açaí base on the thicker side, but these get soupy very fast. -The toppings are good! You can tell from the picture that they don't shy away on the portions, which is great. They do have juices and savory bowls here as well. I'd definitely come back here and give it another try. read more

Beautiful bowl! I love açaí bowls so I was excited to try this place. Unfortunately, I found that the banana mixed into the açaí paste really overpowered the flavor. Some of them I've had before, others like the coconut, complemented the açaí well and I wouldn't have thought of adding. This bowl is nice and large. Definitely a meal portion if açaí. I was also a little bit confused in regards to customizing the açaí itself or toppings. The lady at the counter wasn't super helpful, just kind of saying people don't normally customize the bowls and any additions are extra. I would love to try a bowl again if I can omit the banana in the açaí mixture. It was more of a smoothie consistency than what I normally think of when I think of açaí. Was excited to see a juice bar come to the Broad Ripple area after the beloved Natural Born Juicers closed. I came here on a Friday morning around 8:00a and I was the only one there. For those early risers though, they open at 6:30a all days but the weekend. They had a nice variety of items on their menu such as fresh juice, craft shots, smoothies and bowls. I was a bit overwhelmed and felt kind of awkward since I was the only one there and the cashier was just standing there waiting for me to order so I ended up going with sunrise bowl. I think I would have appreciated some guidance from the person taking my order as it was my first time and I was clearly unsure of what to get. I got it to go and it was MASSIVE. A 24 oz bowl is a lot of acai. I think I would have preferred it in a smaller cup or bowl. It was also a fairly runny consistency and I felt like it needed to be thicker with better or more toppings. I am glad I tried it and I think if I go back next time, I will customize a bowl and maybe order at the kiosk or online so I can take my time deciding what to get. read more

I have been eagerly awaiting this location to open after enjoying smoothies from Greenleaf downtown. We arrived mid morning for a smoothie bowl breakfast. There are several tables and bar seating for dine in at this location. You order at the front, pay, and have a seat at an open table. It's a casual atmosphere and could also be a great grab and go spot. There's a small fridge on the side for grab and go pressed juices. It looks like you can also order ahead and the same fridge is used for order ahead juices. We ordered the blue majik smoothie bowl (cold), the banana coconut oatmeal bowl (warm) and the classic berry smoothie. The classic berry is fruity, smooth and exactly what I'm looking for in a fruit smoothie. The coconut oatmeal is warm, comforting, and generously portioned. The blue majik is a generous portion, delicious fresh fruit and delicious smoothie bottom. They gave a variety of cold and warm options and juices as well. With items ranging between $8-$11, it's reasonable (but not a cheap eat necessarily). Overall, we were pleased with the quality and portion. I was pleased to see Greenleaf move in on Pennsylvania, as I'm always eager for new coffee/juice places in my neighborhood. The building primarily caters to the to-go crowd, which is great during a pandemic. There are also spaces for indoor/outdoor seating, when appropriate and a nifty touchscreen to submit orders. I've stopped in twice and tried the following: Southwest quinoa salad / Greenleaf (OG drink) / Cashew Milk (bottled). Between the two drinks, the Greenleaf was definitely a bit more satisfying. I've grown accustomed to the different cashew milk of competitors, so I felt that the cashew milk was slightly lacking in sweetness. However, the southwest quinoa salad was the saving grace and highlight of both experiences. The dressing they use is fantastic-- I need to figure out how to recreate at home. The price point is comparable to buying lunch at any local spot, so it doesn't hurt the wallet, but you don't feel any of the bloating that can come with sandwiches or other heavier meals. I've thought about checking this place out for a while and I'm glad I did. I was inspired to start making my own smoothies at home and saved a ton of money. I went in and wasn't greeted after several minutes of waiting. There were two girls chatting behind the counter, but I couldn't see them. They had no idea I walked in and have no idea I walked out. I went straight to Costco, bought my own smoothie supplies and now make my own at 1/4 of the price and with service I can count on. I frequented the downtown Greenleaf location and during Covid I learned of the Greenleaf location just a few minutes away from my home! With online ordering, text notification when your order is ready, and contactless pickup, they make it easy to have a healthy lunch. I love all acai bowls but I crave Greenleaf's Soma bowl. It is full of fresh healthy ingredients and you can taste the difference. It is not frozen berry sorbet like some places (I hate when it's mostly ice!) The toppings are generous as well as the size, 24oz! It could easily be split in two. I've even eaten the second half the next day. Acai will oxidize when exposed to air for a long time and turn brown like an avocado but it does not affect the taste. I also live for their Morning Berries Oatmeal bowl. read more

This place is one of my favorite juice bars in the city. Not only are the juices amazing, but the customer service is exceptional, and a place that is filled with diversity. Today I went to Greenleaf Juice, where a young man, African American, with locs, helped me around 3:12p. Friendly, polite, conversational, and made sure my order was taken of. The next customer he helped, wasn't as nearly as kind. He made a condescending comment, "you must be new here" Implying as if the Greenleaf employee didn't know what he was doing, wasn't fully capable to fulfill his request, or do the job. This young man continued by saying, "No, I've been in college." And continued with a smile. This employee displayed phenomenal customer service, even when this customer displayed forms of micro-aggression. I hope this place continues to welcome all people, of all colors, and protects their employees. Especially the ones of color that deal with customers that project racism, prejudices, and inequalities in any form. If this would have happened any other way, the employee would have been at fault. As a patron of this establishment I commend him, for still handing this customer and situation with a smile. But I hope your employees are able to operate in a safe space.
