We had the pleasure of staying with Assia and Nathalie in the Place des Vosges room at the Parc Royal Marais B&B for our three nights in Paris and could not have been happier with our decision! If you are not satisfied with some of the hotel options available in the Marais (as we were when we were looking for accommodations), Parc Royal Marais is the perfect solution. You have all the benefits of an apartment (larger, better value) with all the benefits of a hotel (a concierge, breakfasts, room cleaning, etc) and for us, it was the best decision. The Marais is a fabulous neighborhood and between our feet and the subway, we were able to get all over the city quite easily.
The room was exactly as pictured, which in our experience is rare, and we were very happy and comfortable. We were welcomed upon our arrival by Assia who explained various aspects of the room, the neighborhood and helped us narrow down a few options for lunch. If you prefer a shower over tub, the Place des Vosges room has a beautiful bathroom with a large rain shower head. High end bath gel, lotion and shampoo is provided together with luxurious towels (nothing worse than rough, thin towels - not the case here!) In the room, there is a little area with tea and bottled water (which was replenished daily, although the Paris tap water is very good quality), an empty mini fridge to keep leftovers or snacks and two closets.
Assia and Nathalie anticipate your needs and are extremely lovely hosts. One day we returned with a bottle of beautiful French wine we purchased on a tour and the next day a bottle opener was left to open it without us even having to ask! Each morning we enjoyed breakfast and lovely conversation. Assia is fluent in English and Nathalie is much better with understanding and speaking in English than she gives herself credit for ;-)
Some notes: (1) if you book directly you receive a lower price than available through third party websites (highly recommended to book directly); (2) the breakfasts are OUTSTANDING and something we looked forward to each day. You are offered many choices and we picked baguette, French cheeses, pain au chocolat and a gorgeous fruit plate and the quality was as fantastic as it was delicious. In fact the espresso and cappuccino, bread and cheese was some of the best we tasted in Paris; (3) if you are a light sleeper you will be very happy with the quiet rooms. While Paris is a big, loud, beautiful city - the location of Parc Royal Marais is such that you would not even know because it is very peaceful and serene.
Overall, this is a wonderful property with wonderful owners and I encourage anyone looking for an alternative to a traditional hotel to seek out this fabulous little spot! read more
