We stayed at Bonne Nuit during a quick weekend getaway from nearby Amsterdam, which is only 3 hours away by high-speed train. Worth it. Do it! It was our first time in Paris and it was everything we dreamed it would be. Bonne Nuit and its wonderful hosts, Jean-Luc and his wife, made it even more magical. We arrived around midnight, but Jean-Luc stayed up to personally greet us and give us a brief, whispered tour of the beautiful house. We loved it from the moment we saw the lion-head door knocker on the front door to the stone entry way to the winding, creaking staircase leading to the rooms. We stayed in the Enclos des Templiers room, which overlooks the inner courtyard. The details in the room--the exposed wooden beams, the stone sink, and the absence of a TV--made it simply perfect. The mattress and pillows were perfection. We woke up both mornings to a light breakfast, personally served by Jean-Luc and his wife in the dining area of the house. This is where we also met a couple from Florida and a girl from Hong Kong. Bonne Nuit obviously appeals to a global audience and we could see why! One of the best parts of Bonne Nuit's location is its proximity to the most amazing flea market we've ever been to. Mere steps away are some of the coolest, more interesting treasures you will find anywhere. This flea market is simply spectacular and is worth at least two days' time, if you have it. No joke. We bought several postcards here and Jean-Luc was kind enough to mail them for us after our departure since we left on a Sunday and the post office was closed. So sweet! True hospitality. The B&B is very close to the République metro stop and from there, you can easily criss-cross the entire city. A wonderful stay, through and through. You will definitely get your "bonne nuit's rest" here! ;-)

But they did have a double door with a small hallway to block the noise. The cons would be with strong wind pressure on a rainy day, you could still here the door movement. The bathroom was designed probably for handicap access with slightly higher toilet and a shower capable of likely wheelchair rolling in and adjustable shower head height. There was a very slight smell coming from the bathroom, but enough to notice it and have to close the door. The nice thing about the room was comfy bed, plenty of lighting and three chairs in a room probably no bigger than 180 sq feet. Plenty of places to leave your jackets, backpacks and shopping bags etc. And the most unusual good thing was that the room had a private-ish patio. I think only the two guest rooms on the first floor could access it. Had a nice open air sitting area, unfortunately December weather can be cold or rainy. My rate was ~$165/night inclusive of tax, no breakfast. A decent price for a last minute booking in a busy part of town.

Absolutely amazing first experience abroad. I want to come to Paris again and when I do I want to come here. ** ( I speak some French but wanted to write this in English to express my feelings accurately - because this place deserves it. Found this place right here on Yelp. Good ratings, looked like a good location…read more We arrived by train, and getting the #63 bus drops you right around the corner from here. Which was convenient. Check-in was fine. We were on the third floor, and they have a lift!. Lift holds 1 person with luggage or two without. No, I'm not kidding. We were three with luggage. I got some exercise using the stairs several times. The room was very small. The extra bed was not much more than a cot (steel frame with wood slats), and not very comfortable. That was disappointing and is partially why I can't go to four stars here. Even a basic rollaway bed would have been better. I used the bedspreads to augment the padding to make it more comfortable. The ceiling fan spun the wrong way, and was incredibly noisy. So we didn't use it. They floor fan was OK. There is no A/C, so if it's really hot the rooms could get uncomfortable. Fortunately it was moderate while we were here. There is no fridge or microwave in the room, and the breakfast is what we would call "Continental". Not worth the cost, IMO. Better to wander a few blocks and get some better food. Staff friendly and helpful. Location seems good (Latin Quarter near Notre Dame). I would stay here again with just two of us, but not any more than that. The extra bed is terrible, and you still have to pay for it. One peculiar note...if you get a Yelp check-in coupon don't be surprised if they don't know anything about it. They claim they didn't authorize it. They honored it anyway, but it seems weird such a coupon would pop up and they don't know about it. Getting to CDG airport is about 60 euros by taxi, but we were warned the metro would be crowded and trying to use it with luggage would be challenging. So we did the taxi. But I suspect this would be true of most hotels in the heart of Paris. CDG seems to be well outside the city.

Free wifi, an elevator (you have no idea how much luggage I arrived with and I am usually a really light packer), great location, and not too expensive. Sometimes it is difficult to gauge hotels with stars. It is like a burger in a big city, you can not compare a 15$ Huntsmans burger with two cheeses, hickory smoked bacon and fresh baked bread to a Dicks Deluxe. This is just not fare. So with this hotel, no it is not the George V, but for what it is, it does really well. The only thing I thought was funny was they do not let you book by phone, it has to be done online. Okay, this is not a big deal but for my grandparents it would be a deal breaker.

No matter how well someone sells their hotel/B&B online, you never know what you'll get until you actually open up that door and see it in person. B&B Bouchardon did not disappoint. My first trip to Paris, and my boyfriend's third, we really wanted it to be special. We've traveled a lot of places together, have made some mistakes here and there on choosing places. After a short climb up 5 stories in a tiny elevator, we were greeted into a lovely atmosphere and we instantly knew we'd made a good choice. The room is a little on the small side, but it's beautifully decorated and you really couldn't beat the local apartment feel. The rest of the apartment is also gorgeously decorated and very comfortable. The next morning, we knew we were in for a special treat when Jozsef presented us not only a delicious breakfast, but an absolutely beautiful one. I took pictures so that I can try to recreate the spread for guests at my house in the future.... it was that good. Jozsef was very personable, friendly and easy to talk to. He knows Paris very well and was readily available to offer tips on sightseeing, ordering food, etc. I loved that we felt as if we were staying in a friend's apartment rather than a rented room from a stranger. My boyfriend proposed to me on this trip and when Jozsef found out, he happily presented us with a bottle of champagne as a congratulations. This really topped off our already amazing experience and if we ever go back (I'm sure we will!) we'll definitely be staying at Bouchardon. They may never get us to leave next time!

Staying here was a TRUE pleasure…read more Even from my first email interaction I could tell that this was likely to be an excellent stay. We received a questionnaire in advance, as well as detailed information and tips for our arrival in Paris and getting to the apartment. I'm a big planner and was able to run some of my possible restaurant choices by Jozsef a week in advance and he provided feed back as well as some additional recommendations (one of which turned out to be my favorite meal of our entire trip). When we arrived, we were warmly welcomed with fresh beverages and excellent chatting about our trip and plans. Our room and bathroom were in excellent, spic-and-span condition and there were goodies in our room as well...think renowned Paris chocolatiers ;-) The apartment set-up is really excellent. The area of the house the guest room is in can be completely closed off from the rest of the apartment (which they do at night) so you have plenty of privacy and can come and go without disturbance to anyone else. That was one thing I was concerned about while booking, but it was not an issue whatsoever. The bathroom is small, but in perfect condition. Me and the hubby were able to get ready in the morning without issue for a full week. The bed was extremely comfortable and I slept like a rock every night (due in part I'm sure to our exhausting days haha). The location is very nice as well. This is in the 10th, and off of a cute street that connects to another quiet street with several cafe's. What really makes this such an excellent place to stay are the personal touches, the attention to detail, and the excellent company of the owners. Jozsef and Frederic are an absolute pleasure, and we enjoyed our conversations with them tremendously. Additionally, Jozsef (who does most of the hosting duties) truly goes above and beyond to be helpful. If you ask for help with something, not only does he help you with that, but he anticipates other needs as a result and takes care of those as well. He really personalizes things based on your particular likes and dislikes. The breakfasts....wow. Jozsef makes a mean cold-pressed juice! We tried a bunch of different flavors and they were all super yummy and healthy. Every morning there was a huge variety: pastries, yogurt, fruits, breads, jams, cheeses, etc. And everything was so fresh. The fruits in France truly are amazing. We had a peach for breakfast one morning that I was so excited about, I'm writing about the experience in a review, THAT'S how good this peach was. I thought I may have to fight my husband for additional pieces, or distract him and toss them in my purse. One additional thing that I noticed confusion about (in the FAQ's)... You cannot book this B&B through TripAdvisor. I did a simple google search for the name of the B&B however, and found the website right away. And it is more than worth the extra step, as the value you get for the price can't be beat; the service level is that of a 5-star hotel. The only thing I have left to say is that I will surely be back here the next time we are in Paris. Thank you Jozsef and Frederic for having us in your beautiful home. Until next time...au revoir!

Situated on a small one way street near Rue Lepic and Rue Des Abbesses in the shadow of the Sacre Cœur, you're in easy walking distance of charming creperies, boulangeries and boutiques. I was shocked by the friendly reception I got when I turned up here and even more so when the man who checked me in offered me multiple wifi access codes for my different devices; that's a first for me in Paris! Not only is the hotel ideal for a romantic jaunt, the business traveler can also get work done here. The lift is super slow so I recommend taking the stairs (what better way to work off that pain au chocolat?) But that's the only complaint I have about the place. Sadly, I had but one short night at the reasonably priced (I've often paid more and gotten less in Paris) Hôtel Relais Montmartre but it's somewhere I'd love to return to whether for business or pleasure.

Also in the area, many cute restaurants, mostly reasonably priced ($$) that are filled with locals. A little farther from the touristy sites (Louvre, Eiffel Tower), but manageable if you're willing to figure out the bus system. As for the accommodations, we paid for the cheapest rooms and was placed in one on the ground floor next to the stairs, but did not even notice any noise from passing foot traffic. Clean room, full-sized mattress, spacious (a little dated) bathroom with only a shower. One night, we brought back dinner to eat in the ground floor patio, and were pleasantly surprised when the staff offered us proper plates and cutlery for our meal. In summary, Hôtel Relais Montmartre offered a very comfortable and friendly stay in a quaint, less-touristy neighborhood, a great Paris boutique hotel experience. Note: Free Wifi available.
