Great theatre and a great time! People were dancing in the aisles. That Motown Band was fantastic and so entertaining. The crowd in the theatre were amazing, so happy to be there and so appreciative of the music from my time. Motown music was loved by all people and it was evident in the fantastic audience that were so enthusiastically enjoying it. This was my first time at this venue and I loved it. They sell Captain Lawrence IPA which is one of my favorites, They even have an outdoor area for use during the intermission. There is a public parking lot next door but it fills up so you may have to circle around the area to find street parking. I found a spot just a block away. Peekskill is becoming a popular destination for locals and visitors to enjoy a variety of activities and great restaurants. read more

Nice venue. Not the best, it was ok. Facilities are limited. No private parking lot. You have to use town's parking, it is limited. Make sure some here early. I had to park at a plaza 3 blocks ahead. Show was great. Actually we have seen 2 shows at the same time. First Elton John impersonator. Great band, great songs. Second Almost Queen. Great show again. Song choices and line up not the best. But who cares, all about entertainment. Will definitely come again. read more

Absolutely beautiful, historic theater right in downtown Peekskill. Parking is tricky if you're looking on the street, but there are small lots and a good sized garage nearby. Look forward to going back for another show in the future! read more

I came here for a kids music show, and we had a great time. The sound and space was great, and the space has a bit of a vintage feel. The ushers were helpful. They made it more than easy to pick-up our tickets (no way to have them emailed ahead of time). There's a cute concession stand in the main lobby. The show we went to was about 80% full, I'd guess, and lots of kids, but they did a nice job handling the crowd and making it easy to enter and leave. read more

A great place to see a show if you like hack acts are long in the tooth! The worst event scheduling of any theater in the tri-state area. Places half the size book significantly better acts and events -- totally mismanaged and the venue misused. When I look at the Board of Directors and the "executives" running this place (into the ground), I totally understand why it IS what it IS. By the way, that neighborhood at night is SCARY! The patrons at Slainte's Irish Bar (and occasionally at Gleason's) make it very unsafe. The Peekskill Police presence (or lack thereof) is a major problem as is parking. Go see the Boz Scaggs cover band somewhere else where you can eat at a nice restaurant beforehand, find parking and not deal with the dregs of society that linger around there! read more

Saw The Phil Collins Story over the weekend and it was a blast. Facility was managed well -- though there was a crowd outside it seemed like everyone was processed through security promptly. Security was on it during the show. Great sound and lighting effects throughout. read more

The Paramount Theater has been designated a Westchester County Landmark and is on the New York state and National Registers of Historic Places. In 2006, a $1 Million grant from NY State, along with generous support from Entergy Corporation, allowed the theater to be restored to initial glory. Today, the Paramount Hudson Valley is managed and operated by the nonprofit Paramount Hudson Valley Arts 501(c)(3), with the goal of making this landmark theater a destination for the very best of live music and performing arts.

History

Established in 1930.

Originally built as a 1500-seat movie palace by Publix Pictures, a subsidiary of Paramount Pictures, the Peekskill Paramount Theater first opened its doors to the public with great fanfare on June 27, 1930. The Paramount Theater has been designated a Westchester County Landmark, and is on the New York State and National Registers of Historic Places. In 2006, a $1 million grant from NY State along with generous support from Entergy Corporation allowed the theater to be restored to initial glory. Today the newly dubbed Paramount Hudson Valley is managed and operated by the nonprofit Paramount Hudson Valley Arts 501(c)(3) with a goal of making this landmark theater a destination for the very best of live music and performing arts.

Black Cherry hard cider on tap: This was good; not too sweet and not too strong in terms of alcohol taste. Rate 7/10. 2.
