This guitar shop is a hidden gem. Better than any I've ever been to including any in the city. They have rare finds and there's always something new to look at. Matt L holds it down at his bench in the back. Little Paul up at the cash register knows his stuff and can shred on any guitar so you can hear those beauties sing. I don't do many reviews, but some places stand out and this shop spent a ton of time for a just an enthusiast to go through multiple options, budgets, all based on what I was looking to play. Walked me through the process and taught me how to string, tuning tricks for the music I play around with and I couldn't be happier with the decision to give these guys the business. Paul and Matt were so patient and helpful with all my questions, and since my purchase 6 months ago I've been back and purchased pedals and some other gear/accessories all based on their recommendations even though I would have paid for the more expensive items I looked at. The other shops I had went to prior all tried to push me towards gear that seemed excessive for just a hobbyist, and felt like I was a nuisance to them; which was why I was hesitant to even try another spot. These guys earned my business and respect, and I figured I'd let people online know the kind of operation they run. The staff here is awesome, very knowledgeable and great at what they do. I had two guitars setup here and they play better than ever despite being 50+ years old. The greatest music store that I ever went to was the old Ossining Music, so its no coincidences that Paul, the owner of Division St Guitar, started there many moons ago. You're not going to find the selection of guitars that you would at Guitar Center but you will find an owner that genuinely knows his stuff and is happy to talk shop or just let you look around without harassing you with some lame sales pitch.
