My server, Lindsay, was soo good, knows her stuff, very attentive. Atmosphere was pleasant, but my particular dish was under whelming. I had the thai chicken salad. I felt that maybe mine was missing something. I could not taste the peanut, soy or ginger. The dish was explained to me before I ordered and it sounded great, but sadly it was not . My lunch date, however. Had the most delicious Asian salmon rice bowl. OMG top notch as well as the burger they ordered. So I give high marks for her food but hope something extra can be added to the chicken thai salad. I did not tell mt server that I was unhappy so nothing against her or the place. Easily the best restaurant/craft cocktails in CDA. The service is smooth (was here on a weekday) and the chairs are plush and comfortable. I've been in town for 4 years, and an overall theme I hear locals complaining about is the lack of good Mexican food. Try the tacos here. Better than anything I've had in SoCal. Not only is this one of the only places you can get good Italian dishes at, they have a drink that nowhere else in CDA knows how to make or has even heard of. It's called the Carajillo. It's like a gourmet high-end version of an espresso martini, but it's on the rocks and has citrusy, vanilla, baking spices, and chocolate notes, with an amazing foam that's like having a cappuccino. Our first time at parallel 47 was better and I got a free dessert for my birthday that day. I got the Thai peanut noodle salad which was pretty good except it needed more peanut sauce and it needed more peanuts! There were like four or five little peanuts at the bottom of the salad and you could barely taste the peanut sauce at all. I went back three days later and had a Cobb salad, which was very disappointing. There was hardly anything in it except the lettuce. I had to ask for more red onion, there were no hard boiled eggs and I wondered if the bacon was real bacon or something else? There should have been more blue cheese crumbles in the salad and it just needed more ingredients, what you normally have in a Cobb salad was missing. Somebody else in my party had strawberry shortcake which was way too sweet and didn't have any strawberries on it and they don't serve any butter to go on the bread. Both salads I had, especially the Cobb salad, seemed skimpy on some of the ingredients that should have been in the salad. Prices seem a little on the high end for the amount of food that you get. read more

The food was amazing! Our waiter Cody was super fast, considerate and knows his menu. We had the roasted beets appetizer and it was so good! The steaks were perfectly cooked and accompanied by the creamiest mashed potatoes you have ever had. Chicken Madeira had a sauce that we all wanted to eat and the glazed salmon was perfectly mild and tender. Don't skip the parallel burger either. When we walked in, the hostess was awesome. We brought my Dad, who has advanced Parkinson's Disease. She helped us get him a seat at the bar while we waited. Super cool. Then... it fell apart. There are less than a dozen seats at the bar, yet they never had time to get us a drink. But, the lovely hostess came and took us to our table. Then... it fell farther apart. Nobody even acknowledged us for 10 minutes, when they finally came with water. They spent plenty of time clearing tables though Then it took 10 more to get a drink. Over 30 minutes from checking in, sitting at the bar, moving to a table to finally get a drink. Dinner came. I ordered corn tortillas, my dad ordered flour. They reversed them. Another policy that drives me crazy, the server doesn't show up when the meal is served, just to make sure it is right. There was no salsa for the tacos. Our server was also confused about no salsa for the tacos. This is a management issue. The staff was all just wonderful. They need to make it a policy to get someone a drink as soon as they are seated. To have the server accompany the meal service. I tried flagging the manager several times, but got the pretend not to see me response. He seemed stressed. Great ambiance, great servers, horrible policies. read more

The food was good and the fry sauce was delicious! We had a tall waiter in the dining area and he was fun. But at the end of our meal he became rude all of a sudden? I understand it gets busy but he just dropped off our checks, took our cards, slammed them on the table, and took our receipts/tips without saying anything. There was no "Thanks for coming, have a great night" or even any acknowledgment. We wanted to-go boxes but he left before we can even say anything. Parallel 47 is a big disappointment. This place was bought from obvious out of town folks, not locals. It looks great. This was the old Sargeants--- which lost its luster a long time ago. That being said, they made it pretty, but that is all I will say about that. I visited today and we are in late fall, so patio sitting wasn't available. It was loud inside. With one other table. The lunch menu doesn't offer a lot, which is okay, but it should be good. I ordered the chicken BLT. The chicken was so, so, so, so dry, I couldn't eat it. The shoe string fries are Ok,, until they cool off and then they aren't worth eating. My friend ordered a French dip and got the smallest cup of Aus jus. The plates were rectangular and seemed awkward to deliver. The food and drink prices are ridiculous. It's like this place is from California and it doesn't fit our town. Also, almost all of the reviews are not from locals. This place is a price grab. I will never go again. And I'm local. read more

First time here and hearing good reviews. Great craft cocktails and good food. Some of the items were fairly priced and others overpriced for what you get. We had the buffalo cauliflower for an appetizer and it was good. The country fried shrimp appetizer was good but very overpriced. 4 medium shrimp for $18. We were fans when they opened. Food was great. I think they are forgetting their roots and how they wanted to operate. For one when you pay the prices you charge the food should come out hot. When you pay $85 for a meal the fries should come out hot. McDonald's has hotter fries. Granted the server made it right after I told him. But then the wait of 15-20 minutes for new fries because they were busy. Our meal took well over an hour to be served. Others received their meal before us and came in after us. Again great they are busy. Another thing I know servers work for tips. But having someone constantly interrupt your meal and conversation is a little much. We've been going to Parallel 47 about once a month since the first week they opened and choose them for special occasion meals such as birthdays, Mother's Day, and today - Easter Sunday. My son has life-threatening food allergies and they've been great with his meal every time. He either orders a burger and we bring our own dairy/egg-free bun, or he orders a steak. Normally we love our food; and the service has been great (except the trip in January when things were sloowww and orders mixed up). Today there was only one couple in the restaurant at lunch-time; the restaurant was dead. I asked the server about the possibility of a steak and informed him of my son's allergies. The server came out to explain that the cooks in the kitchen at that time are not trained to grill a steak; and that we are NOT allowed to use our own burger bun in their restaurant. I explained that we've done that at least 8 times before and it's never been a problem. He sent over the manager who apologized that we've been allowed to get away with it in the past but explained that the restaurant has a rule against outside food. I explained that it's only a burger bun to go with the burger we would order from them but he would not budge and he turned away the second customer in the whole restaurant. Sadly, because they don't have cooks who can grill a steak during the daytime, and we can't bring in one burger bun for a food allergy kid we won't be going back. Stupid move by management because we were loyal and regular customers who normally have a big ticket. We've referred coworkers, friends, and family to the restaurant but now we'll be telling a different story. Today the manager turned away one of the only groups in the restaurant and a table who would have spent $80 - $90 for Easter lunch. Crafted downtown welcomed my son bringing his own burger bun so that he could enjoy a safe burger (grilled by them), and we had a hefty $60. lunch bill. Our favorite place here!!! We always love coming here and never disappointed. On our annual vacation we stopped here 3x this week alone. I can tell you the food is amazing everything is made locally from appetizers, main course to house made desserts and Specialty drinks Wish we had one in our state. The patio was so relaxing with great live music playing. Staff was super friendly and attentive to our needs. Again so bummed we don't have one in our state. Dinner The filet mignon was to die for with the mashed potatoes. Husband got salmon and said it was perfection! Lunch you can't go wrong with anything with peak sauce. Chicken sandwich burger or chicken avocado. It's all so great. The Thai noodle salad is an all time favorite to share with a sandwich/ burger for us. Appetizers. I've had a few. We were excited to try Parallel 47 meals. We had visited several times for happy hour and received outstanding cocktails and service. Unfortunately the restaurant was a bit of a let down. The service was acceptable for being newly opened. The staff struggled with finding specific wines in the wine fridge and was a bit slow on taking orders and following up after the meal was served. I'm sure all of these issues will improve with time and training. We both had the chicken salads. I had the Cesar and my spouse had the BBQ ranch salad . The lettuce and vegetables were fresh however the were extremely small in volume. They were sized more like side not a meal. If we had a total of 1.5 ounces of chicken per salad we were lucky. The salad both were missing listed condiments. We were expecting that a $18.00 per salad would have 4 ounces of chicken and bigger serving of lettuce per salad. Hopefully this will change with time. Enjoyed a delicious late lunch at Parallel 47! The Cucumber Watermelon Martini was incredibly refreshing, and my mother described the Summer Caesar Salad as "the best Caesar salad she's ever had". Food was good. Could have been a little warmer. I like my food hot, so this may not be a fair review. The service is great. Noise level is a little higher than I like when your spending over a $100 for 2 people. We sat in their room attached to the kitchen but it wasn't kitchen noise, it was just a loud room. Maybe need some noise cancelling solutions to help lower the noise level. Have not sat in the part of the restaurant with the bar (two separate buildings). I have sat outside which is amazing. They don't take reservations but they do have plenty seating. I do recommend this restaurant. read more

Granted they were busy on a Friday afternoon but took 20 minutes for a server to take a drink order after numerous attempts to get someone's attention while chatting at the bar, avoiding our attempts. Wow!!! We weren't sure what to expect when Date Night brought us to Parallel 47 but we certainly loved everything about the place. Beer selection was plentiful and the specialty drinks were delicious. I had the chicken salad which was huge and so good while Hubby had a burger. He said it was one of the best burgers he's had in a long time. We tried their fried pickles as an appetizer and our only complaint was that we wished they'd brought us more! We sat at the bar and there was a very cozy fire going. It's small but intimate and the perfect place to share a meal with your loved ones. read more
