Hey Yelp Fam!
I'm back with another review, and this time we've gone international! A few weeks ago, I ventured to Cancun, Mexico, and stayed at the All-Inclusive Paradisus Cancun Resort. I'll try to give you as much info as I can about my 4-day, 3-night stay, but if you decide to stop reading at any time, just know this: **I HAD AN AMAZING TIME** and I can't wait to go back!
As we left the airport with our private driver and drove through the city, I was filled with excitement. The beautiful palm trees, the water, the people, and the vibrant culture all made me eager to start my vacation. Arriving at the resort was just as thrilling. Everyone who enters the resort must be checked in by security, and once you arrive at the front, resort staff members greet you, collect your bags, and walk you to check-in. We landed around 10:30 AM, got to the resort a little after 11 AM, and our room was ready by 12 PM. While waiting, we checked in and received our wristbands. FYI, we stayed on "The Reserve Side," which is adults-only. With about 40 minutes to kill before our room was ready, we decided to check out one of the all-you-can-eat buffets for a quick bite. This was the first and only time we ate on that side of the resort because we took full advantage of the restaurants available to us on the adults-only side.
Now, let me tell you about the room. We were on the second floor, which made it easy to access snacks, food, the beach, and other amenities. The rooms are very spacious; I went with two other family members, and we opted for the master suite, which came with two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The bathrooms have nice glass walk-in showers, with a private toilet area behind a door, and the room includes a minibar fully stocked with drinks and snacks. Our room didn't overlook the ocean, but that was fine--it was an easy walk around the corner and down the stairs.
Navigating the hotel was like a maze, but I finally got the hang of it the day before we left. The beautiful blue water, the Bali beds, the food, the staff, the views, the activities, the spa--**EVERYTHING WAS AMAZING.** I won't go into too much detail because I don't want to bore you, but I do want to share the places we ate at:
Malva** (buffet on day one)
Lemon Fish** (must have a reservation)
Sal** (must have a reservation)
Sante** (my favorite)
Aquafish** (I didn't eat anything here; but you can try it out)
One of my favorite things was going to the snack bar in "The Reserve," which is the adults-only section that had snacks every day. I went there regularly for the cute and tasty desserts that weren't too sweet (I loved it!).
As for activities, we did the "Sound Healing" session--OMG, it was worth it. Lying by the beach with my eyes closed while the instructor using crystal singing bowls that made different frequency noises as she recited mantras was a freeing experience. I'm not one to opt for things like this, but I'm glad I tried something different. One day, my family did a morning strength session, but I couldn't make that... lol, I was sleeping. We also did hydrotherapy, which I highly recommend. You start by sitting in the sauna, then move to the steam room (which was intense, lol). Then, you walk on warm rocks that spray water on your ankles, plunge into ice-cold water, and finish in a warm jet pool with waterfalls. You're there for about 45 minutes--just enjoy it!
The staff was amazing--very friendly and attentive. Our concierge was Violette--she is OUTSTANDING! I'm sure I didn't cover everything, but I'll make it up with photos. Please enjoy the pictures!
