Visited Coffs Harbour for the first time and saw this restaurant written up as having good seafood…read more I love all things seafood so I showed up without a reservation. Alessandro greeted me and found what turned out to be the last available table. He walked me thru their menu including the "fresh off the boat" Specials. I ordered his favorite, Cerviche made with fish not shellfish - just wonderful! Very fresh, crisp tastes, wonderful mix of textures. He recommended a Margaret-River Sauvignon Blanc that went perfectly with the cerviche; flinty, waxy, almost a gruner. Then came the whole grilled stripped bass. Again perfectly cooked with lemon, butter and not much else. Exactly as it should be - straightforward and delicious. He suggested a Grillo white from Sicily that was a perfect Compliment. Allesandro knows his wines so ask and take his recommendations. I saved some off my S Blanc to have with 4 local oysters ( my dessert). I loved them. And I'm a big oyster foodie so I'm critical but these were wonderful. One more glass of the Grillo with a coffee to finish a perfect dinner. It is a casual place as a beach/seafront restaurant ought to be. The next night my customers booked to take me here again! When I said I had been the night before they offered to change but I said no as there were other dishes waiting to be tried. This time I started with the oyster and re-proved how good they were. Then the yellowfin tuna for my entree. It had a bit of a Asian-fusion influence but was, again, wonderful. I again had the Sauvignon Blanc with the oysters and asked our waitress to ask Alessandro for his recommendation for the tuna - a Pinot Grigio. Great. When I thanked him later he said the choice was the Pinot or a light red but chse the Pinot since I clearly enjoyed my whites. So I give Latitude 30 5 stars for its food and for Alessandro. Great place and can't wait to Come back - all the way from Connecticut.!

In fact, we ordered 2 more. They were that good! Charity was the friendly, wonderful server that made our experience even better. The 70 day aged Scotch Fillet was prepared to perfection. The Swordfish special was unbelievable. Fish was so flavorful, perfectly seasoned and prepared that I am now ruined for any other swordfish. Hats off to the chef. The accompaniment of pearl couscous risotto (minus the chorizo by request) with mussels was so very good that it could stand alone as its own dish. Seemingly pricey at first glance but not at all at first taste and the sight beautiful presentation. Worth every penny!!!! We were there on a very steamy day. We found respite at the high top tables at the bar where a fabulous cross breeze made us quite comfortable.

What an excellent view whilst having lunch. We did pop in yesterday to make a booking so that we…read moregot a window table today. Two of us went for the light lunch with calamari.....very nice and a good size. Our other diners went for the blue eyed cod and fish & chips. They were suitably fed too. We drank the local beers and they were good. The service was attentive too. Parking can be a problem so go for an early time.

Probably, but a lazy…read moreSunday afternoon sipping bubbles whilst you watch the waves crash against the shore is pretty darn good. The Pacific Hotel which sits just above Main Beach in Yamba is one of those country town gems that has the best local feel. There's a bar in the front and a bistro in the back with a main stage in the corner where bands from all around the Northern Rivers come on various days, check their website if coming to see some live music is your thing. Or if you're like me and just want to have a relaxing lunch overlooking the ocean grab a seat in the bistro. All the tables are by the giant glass windows which overlook the cliffs and beach. There's a great bistro menu with classic pub fare as well as fresh seafood from the area (oysters from Wooli and fish from Yamba). The food is great. I had the salt and pepper squid which was tender and fresh, Dad has a steak sandwich which was cooked perfectly on turkish bread (a nice light alternative if you want my opinion) and Mum had pork skewers (an entree but came out the size of a main). Topping off the food I had sticky date pudding for dessert which was the only thing that was a slightly let down. Great flavour but a little dry, thankfully there was plenty of butterscotch sauce and ice cream to remedy that. The fact that the food and service are great is just the tip of the iceberg with this pub. You really want to just come for the view. Any day it's going to be great, rain or sunshine.
