I liked the option of picking two sides to add variety to the usual chips and salad. I loved the mushroom gravy however the steak wasn't amazing. Not overcooked to my medium request but tough and not all that flavoursome. My partner thought the beer was on the pricey side but I was relieved to find the only place so far that could accomodate a simple order of coke. Bottled not canned. That's when I stumbled upon the Railway Friendly Bar. When I went to the bar, to my surprise, I noticed a Guinness logo on a couple of the glasses in the mini fridge. Boy was I excited. Naturally I asked for a pint of Guinness, now when you ask for a Guinness at some random hipster pub in Australia obviously I'm not expecting much. But this was atrocious. The moment the bar tender started the poor, I knew my tastebuds where doomed. This is by far the worst pint of Guinness I've ever had in my life, and I wouldn't wish it upon my worst of enemies. When the stage is empty, they play an eclectic mix of fine tunes on their great stereo system. Third, and most impressive, BBB is a destination for casual satisfying food! Highly recommend the bowls, especially enjoy the Asian and burrito bowls. They're in the midsts of a rebranding, which is probably a good move because overall the place feels tired. We came back the next day to pick up some beers to enjoy poolside at our B&B (sneaking in a garden ale and refreshing seltzer before we left). The seltzer is also gluten free, vegan and low sugar. Returning a third time to get some gifts to bring home for family. I would highly recommend a visit when in Byron Bay. The ethos of this business is something we can all strive for.
