I was curious to find out all the fuss after walking past at night hearing live music and a bustling atmosphere. I came for lunch on a warm day so was happy to find indoor seating beyond the shaded seats outside that had been snapped up. The menu is standard pub food to which I chose the sirloin steak. I liked the option of picking two sides to add variety to the usual chips and salad. I loved the mushroom gravy however the steak wasn't amazing. Not overcooked to my medium request but tough and not all that flavoursome. My partner thought the beer was on the pricey side but I was relieved to find the only place so far that could accomodate a simple order of coke. Bottled not canned. We both liked the new order/payment system no doubt spurred on by the impacts of COVID. My partner ordered and paid online. Nice place and location, but we ordered poke on the online menu and it came without fish. When we asked about why there was no fish, we were told we had not ordered it, it was an extra at the bottom of the description. We were then treated rude and told we had eaten part of it and we could not be refunded. So we spent $80 on food and drinks and were charged $22 for food we did not eat. I get the feeling that this pub is probably the main pub in Byron Bay. Then again it does happen to be big enough, and there always seems to be something going on here. Yeah, this place is pretty cool and has some great beach views as well. The beer garden is quite massive, as is the inside area, and not surprisingly they also have some of my favourite beers on tap. Hard to go wrong with the Beachy. Seriously, you could have a garbage dump on the spot it occupies on the corner right across the road from the second most famous beach in Australia and it'd be a success. But they do a good job, this mob. Tons of beer garden areas, loads of bars, a huge stage and dance area with a nice people watching/perve ring surrounding it. The food is pretty exxy - we're talking mid-teens to high-20's for pub food - but with the market they've got they can charge whatever they damn well want and people will thank them for it. read more

There was a lot to like about this place, but also some things I disliked. Things I liked: - Location. Right by the main beach in Byron Bay and walking distance to any of the other major Byron spots. - Taste of the Bloody Mary I ordered. They ask you how spicy you want it. I tasted the "spicy" version that my friend ordered and it was very spicy! I am not that brave, and ordered a medium, which was perfect for me. - Live music/dancing. They had a band that played a lot of different kinds of music (Goo Goo Dolls to Queen to Doobie Brothers). There was a dance floor, and while not many people took advantage of it, it created a fun vibe. Things I disliked: - Wait time. I went to the bar to order my bloody mary, and once I'd ordered it took them at least fifteen minutes to make. I was very tired of waiting at the bar by the time the drink came. That alone about made me not want to come back or order another drink. - Busy. It was hard to find a place for four people to have a drink. In fact, we weren't able to find a table, and sat on some fake grass they had. It was a Sunday afternoon, though. Overall, I would probably go back, but wouldn't order the Bloody Mary just because of the wait time. It seemed like other drinks didn't take that long. read more

5 stars all round! The location is perfect on the beach front with ample secure underground parking below the building. Staff were super friendly and were able to accommodate an early arrival checkin. I asked if I could upgrade from a garden room to a beach view room. They did me an excellent deal on the beachfront penthouse. Amazing!! The doors / windows open up completely to expose a huge balcony overlooking the main beach. Just perfect. 3 bedrooms, an office and a private rooftop pool. The rooftop pool is heated so it was warm to be in even when the weather outside was cold. Can't fault the place. Coffee machine, fridge, everything you could want. I definitely recommend this place. read more

This restaurant is right by the beach. You can sit outside and face the beach. There are plenty of seating both inside and outside. There's a stage inside as well, where they have performances and whatnot. There's a different event each day at the Beach Hotel. It's a self service restaurant, so you have to go inside to order and pick up your own food and utensils. Besides what is on the menu, there are daily specials. Go to the counter to find out what the daily special is. There are two counters inside. The right is where you order drinks and the left is where you order food. I ordered the chicken parmesan ($24). Taxes are included in the price. The chicken parmesan comes with chips and coleslaw. I requested salad instead. Chips in Australia actually mean fries and not potato chips by the way. There is ice water by the drink counter. The chicken parmesan was somewhat warm, but not hot when it came out, as if it were reheated. It could have been better. The fries and salad were good. Overall, great environment, but the chicken parmesan dish was not very good. read more

I was on vacation for Bluesfest, and had to visit the Beach Hotel! I really had a fun time here! It was Easter Sunday, and the place was slammin' busy! After we hunted down an open table, we grabbed some appetizers and beers. The food choices were great, and everything was really tasty. The crowd was young, the music was bumpin, and then there was a live band on stage by the time we were leaving. What a fun atmosphere! I can see why this spot is so popular. Party time!!! read more

Beach Hotel - The most delicious bloody Mary's ever! - Pubs Near Me - Byron Bay, NSW

Awesome location, right by the beach, so you get that fabulous breeze which is lovely in summer. They provide outdoor heaters in winter so it's also fantastic when it's a little chillier. A downside to this place is the amount of people that gather around the bar at night, Friday and Saturday nights you can be waiting AGES at the bar even though there's usually 5-6 barstaff there and if a football game is on...forget it. We usually order a few drinks at a time if we're doing a night out. Great place to start or end your night. Usually packed with an odd mix of middle aged people there for the pub/restaurant and rowdy 18-25 year olds. All of the bouncers are terrifying when they want to be. I also like that there's a lot of open space, so if you like clubbing but get a little claustrophobic there's always fresh air and a place to chill out but still be close to the dancing and action. read more

The bar was good, packed but it was a Saturday night and the Royal Flying Doctor Trek had just landed the atmosphere was great and the staff were handling the crowd well. The bottle shop was also well stocked with lots of options, unfortunately the hotel had told us we got a discount in the bottle shop as we were staying with them which was not true. The man running the bottle shop was clearly sick of people being told this untruth. The hotel itself was ok, unfortunately the bed was full of dust which for someone with hay fever led to some poor nights sleep. I'm never a fan of hotels with shower curtains it just doesn't seem right (I never can imagine they're clean) the location however is fantastic Bay Lane is packed from early afternoon to late in the evening so if you're not planning on staying in and want to experience the night life this is the spot for you! read more

Let's go to the beach! This place was jumpin on a Sunday night. The music was excellent (some Biggie). They were just wrapping up the band and setting up the DJ. Really cool ambiance. Mix of young and middle aged people. I went to order the Beachy Burger with only cheese-- $22 on Sundays. The guy at the register said it would make more sense to get the Kids menu burger-- half the price and the same size! What a nice guy! Saving me $11. And there were even chips/fries included with the kids menu order. A great variety of beers and other drinks. Stuck with sprite for the night. Burger was great! Fries were great! Sprite was great! Nothing blew me away about the place, but I enjoyed the meal and the environment. read more

Great atmosphere and drinks but stay away from the food. Ordered a hot dog on my first visit and found it to be crunchy (apparently it has pork crackling in it but it was more like tiny rocks). Gave it another chance and ordered chicken wings only to find the batter was floury and not at all crispy - oh, and it was dripping in oil. Worst chicken wings ever! read more

Rest assured I was on the internet within minutes expressing my dissatisfaction with the timings of "Breakfast" and "Lunch". "Breakfast" orders close at 10:30 am (local time) while "Lunch" orders aren't taken until 11:30. Only food available is premade sandwiches or cake etc. Staff were efficient but firmly and unapologetically reiterated the company line about breakfast. "We have to clean up the kitchen etc". Perhaps expectations have been raised by the knowledge that other establishments of lesser and even greater repute have extended breakfasts. This situation is problematic for visitors from different time zones expecting to be able to get a cooked breakfast who may not be aware of the local customs. When in Rome...eat banana cake for a later breakfast or go elsewhere. One star. read more

Worst place I've ever been to in all my travels. First off, let's start with the food....horrible, greasy, soggy hot chips smothered in Parmesan, salads drenched in cream...but what can you expect for bar food...and that wasn't the horrible part. The horrible part was witnessing horrific personal attacks on patrons by the security personnel during what started out as a mellow weekend night. There was some sort of dance contest happening and I saw not one, but two separate incidents of the bouncers choking out and dragging to the door two men who happened to have a little dance in the circle. There was no words exchanged, no announcement that apparently dancing on the dance floor was forbidden that night? Just two innocent bystanders being physically harmed and thrown down stairs by up to 5 doorman. One was standing right next to us and literally the security didn't say one word to him but came up behind him, put him in a choke hold so that he spilled his beer over everyone and then got dragged outside. I saw another bouncer then try to steal the phone of someone who was trying to video tape one of the incidents (maybe his gf?)....whatever was going on...they didn't want any evidence as that would surely lead to some police involvement against them. Shame on you Beach Hotel. DO NOT GO HERE. You've been warned. read more
