    Tasting menu - nice idea!
    Marla P.

Very nice little protected outdoor seating area. This is a fun stop to try the local brews! The tasting tray is very nicely presented, and the brews themselves are all very tasty. Chocolatey one was a nice surprise. It's an inexpensive way to get a little education Note: Out-of-season, it seemed very quiet, large and not cozy inside. But the cinema in the building had great selection of films, so that filled any entertainment gap.

Let me start out by saying it seems like a great place, the menu sounds great, they have a bunch of food deals, they place live music, it's right next door to a wonderful hostel with loads of people, and they brew their own beer. Sounds like an awesome place, right? Well it didn't really live up to what it promises. When I got there at 6:30 pm, there were a bunch of open tables inside and not a lot of people. So I waited for my friend and we got in around 7pm and suddenly all the tables inside were full so we had to eat outside. The outside area is nice and has cool Thai inspired decor and it had live music which was cool, but it was so loud we were yelling to each other and still couldn't hear what the other was saying. It was a cool touch, but would be better if the music wasn't as loud. The food was good but not great, but I expected that. I had the chicken linguini on the share menu which was a large portion of food and taste satisfactory. It wasn't anything spectacular but I would order it again. My friend order the chicken schnitzel which looked good and she seemed to enjoy. The major positive for me was that we got an AMAZING deal on food and drink. We did the buy one get one free on the menu, so that made two entrees for 24 dollars. But on top of that, I had coupons from the MAD guidebook that allowed us free drinks (beer, house wine, soft drink) when we bought a meal so we got two of the house beers. I got the pale lager and my friend got the pale ale. So it was 12 dollars each for a beer and a large entree. Great value! The beers were disappointing though. If you really like beer, don't come here expecting to be wowed by some amazing beer. Speaking that it's a brewery I expected better, but they were so dull in flavor. We did get them for free without meal, but still we were hoping for more. I would recommend coming here for the deals as a backpacker, but if you're a foodie like me and want quality meals and/or beer, this isn't your place.

Great food, good beer, and awesome specials! We went on $10 steak night, had a great time. Definitely check it out if you're in Byron Bay.

I guess the reason being is that I made the trek out here, upon discovering that the brewery was in Byron Bay, only to learn that they don't have a license to actually serve beer. Well, sort of, because they can serve tasting pallets, but that is basically it. This was a real shame actually, though now that I come to think of it, I probably should have just had a pallet.

The tour is great value. $35pp which covered 1 1/2 hours of beer history, ingredient knowledge, a walk through the brewery and plenty of taste testers. I honestly can't believe how generous the drinks were. Starting with a cheeky 10am schooner to break the ice, followed by 2 middies and ending with 1/2 a paddle. Safe to say I was feeling very relaxed and before we knew it it was 2pm! The brewery has a great atmosphere in general and our guide for the day Mike was awesome. Very chilled which maybe is how he looks so good. No way he is 40!! We came back the next day to pick up some beers to enjoy poolside at our B&B (sneaking in a garden ale and refreshing seltzer before we left). The seltzer is also gluten free, vegan and low sugar. Returning a third time to get some gifts to bring home for family. I would highly recommend a visit when in Byron Bay. The ethos of this business is something we can all strive for. A place that embraces its community and in turn the community has embraced it.

Add the vintage display cabinet, old skool chairs and bench seating you'd be forgiven to think your were at a friends uni flat with free furniture. Really enjoyed the mass variety of food and the sliders were exceptional. I really wanted one of everything tbh! After the lunch few of the lads went up to the bar and they had roughly 4-5 different beers on tap. All locally brewed at Byron bay brewery. That we did actually have one of each. The barmen weren't very engaging at first but as the beers flowed they seemed to relax a bit and enjoy our company. Over all good experience and would love to return.

Thank god for Pigs and Pints, a fantastic gourmet slider burger place. Slider burgers are tiny little burgers that focus on simplicity and flavour, not size. I ordered the $20 special, which got me 3 sliders (or 'pigs'), a bowel of home made potato crisps, and a pint of beer. The crisps were delicious, crunchy, and expertly hand crafted, with just enough salt and herbs. The burgers themselves were served in a little black box, which the waitress open like she was revealing buried treasure. Probably because real treasure lay inside. The first slider contained a good slice of slow cooked pork belly with a sweet and spicy jam. The second was simply called 'the cheese burger' and is apparently one of the most popular; perfectly fried halumi, lemon and herb dressing and rocket. The final slider, grilled tofu, was the weakest of the bunch with not much flavour and tofu that was a little dry. But that didn't stop me from ordering two more sliders: a spicy salmon, and a tai chicken. Both were great. A great night out for a group of friends that want to try something a little different.
