I was a little nervous at first having someone else do my makeup but she really listened to exactly what we all wanted and knocked it out of the park. My bridesmaids loved their makeup and even my mom (who NEVER) wears makeup, got the most beautiful fresh barely there look from Chance. She also uses very high quality products and brushes and the application stays in place until the very end of the night. (or if you fall asleep with it on your wedding night you wake up looking like a goddess) haha Seriously though, I highly recommend Chance for any of your makeup needs!! Cant wait to use her again! :)

I went to the Selah Salon Spa to have services from Candy. I drove from Anchorage to Wasilla for…read moreCandy to do a facial, and it was worth the trip. This salon is based out of a lakeside residential property with amazing mountain views. The home itself has been converted into a salon with the family room converted into the nail salon, the garage into the hair salon, several relaxation zones serving as waiting areas, and smaller bedrooms for esthetician services such as waxing, facials, and other skin needs. Other small rooms are for massages. Candy has been an esthetician in the valley and in Anchorage for several years, and really knows her stuff. I have wax services with her, and this was my first facial. She customized my service based on what my skin type, novice experience, and needs for bridal make up. Her services are catered to your needs, she is always friendly, and ensures that your experience is what you want it it to be. Her room is set up so it can be relaxing with heated blankets, darkened window coverings, music, and will ask you what you need from her to make your experience what you want it to be. She walks you through each step, and what to expect to feel. I enjoy using Candy for services, and for new experiences because she will always make sure my comfort and relaxation is number one. She truly makes her customers feel like they are gold.

So I called to make an appointment and was told that Selah sold out and they are NOT honoring the gift certificates that they have on file. I was in town to attend a family wedding. Audrey was very nice throughout the process. Somewhere during the service things went wrong. Highlights around my face came out orange and all the beautiful light blonde I walked in with was covered by a dark and drab toner. Nothing could be done. It was 2 hours before the wedding .I realize it's only "hair "but it will be forever reflected in my family's wedding photos and quite honestly, I was devastated and embarrassed. I avoided being in photos as much as possible. Audrey I would highly recommend classes to upgrade your skills as a colorist. Now for the amazing part. For the next day, I was able to make an appointment with the salon manager, Rebecca. She knew exactly what needed to be done. She corrected the color and did her best to bring my hair back to its original blonde and take out those bands of orange around my face. Her years of experience were reflected in the outcome. I can't thank you enough, Rebecca. I just wish I found you first. You truly get five stars for hair and your understanding and kindness. Keep being amazing!

These guys are awesome…read more Since moving to Alaska in 2015, I've only done my hair twice, because as every woman knows, finding a new salon that you can trust NOT to screw up your hair is nerve wracking AF. The only other hair salon in Alaska I've tried is Salon Ivy in Anchorage. Now that I've found this salon, don't think I'll be back to the other place. These guys are a full service salon and my stylist even jokingly referred to their shop as the only "Old Lady Salon" in town because they're the only ones that do the shampoo and set. Anyway, for my purposes today, I decided to take a BIG step and chop a bunch of my hair off. The stylist Rayna was exceedingly patient and helpful in discussing with me options for how I might want my hair to look. Having fine hair but lots of it makes for a tangled up nightmare when it gets too long....not to mention all the shedding. Rayna helped me come up with a good haircut that will give my hair lots of body, while being easy to manage. In a normal setting, I'd have done either a partial or full set of highlights but that wasn't needed today because I'd recently done my own hair. Rayna did show me some great options for highlights in the future should I decide to use them for that service. The shop itself is pleasant. The owner Noel is also extremely nice and easy to talk to. This salon is perhaps one of the most relaxing salons I've been in, largely because both stylists are kind, they listen while giving thoughtful suggestions, and they're super down to earth and easy to talk to! One thing I'd like to say about Rayna in particular is that she has a very nice, relaxing way of working with your hair. She's gentle, very careful about NOT pulling your hair--which is fantastic when you're tender-headed like me lol--AND, she gave me the BEST scalp massage while washing and conditioning my hair that I've ever had! It is rare to find a stylist with a nice touch that doesn't manage to pull or tug on your hair at least once or twice, but Rayna never once hurt me. I'd really recommend her for people with tender heads. All in all, I came away from here very happy with my cut and general experience. Highly recommend to anyone! 10/10
