It appears they just took the interior of what was a turnaround handmade 2 very nice dog parks. A park right across from them, they have separate parking for the big and the small. The dog park has some old really cool trees and some palm trees with nice places to sit underneath them. The ground covering is mostly grass and then some sand. There is a poop bag dispenser and trash can as well as a nice water area with some plastic pools. Plus they have a very nice well fenced and little playground across the way with a Libra book take a book

My favorite dog beach that I've ever been to!! Really large area for the dogs (marker 26 to 57-…read moreabout 2.5 miles total), always really clean, and never overrun with dogs. Fair amount of people (not "just" a dog beach), and as stated previously, never A LOT of dogs. Doesn't feel packed like other dog beaches, and no designated "times" or days for the dog beach (unlike the dog beach at Spanish River Park in Boca). Most people seem aware of their surroundings, but of course you'll meet a difficult owner or nasty dog every now and again. Overall I haven't had any problems (that often come with off-leash areas). Parking seems easy to find no matter what time of the day (couple of parking lots, and lots of street parking), and is FREE!! The water is usually clean and free of seaweed and sea pests. Really enjoy this dog beach!

I let her run and play and in her nature she was in the bushes hunting. I was watching her, playing with her, and keeping her close. She was brought into the VET ER today after she was playing in the bushes hunting and came face to face with an extremely deadly and dangerous Bufo toad. EXTREMELY TOXIC TO ALL DOGS. She was having horrible seizures, foaming at the mouth and hyperventilating. If I wasn't watching her at this "Safe & Fanced in" dog park she would've died. I know there's very little you can do about them showing up. But just the simple fact it lives there, probably 20 dogs came in a out in that hour I was there is extremely dangerous. WATCH YOUR PET. KEEP THEM CLOSE. BE SAFE PLEASE. (Took photos not knowing at the time my baby was about to be on the brink of death not being able to move or breathe.)

Their website does not have this rule. The gate has a sign that says no frisbees or footballs but she insisted that this meant all balls. What a crazy rule if true. It's located inside of Okeeheelee park and it's best to go to the west entrance for a quicker route. There are two areas - one for small and the other for larger dogs. The small is for 30 pounds and under and we went there since our puppy is a mini dachshund. Since it was his first time at a park, he was a little nervous at first, but he warmed up once he was there for a little while. Both of the areas are big with shaded areas and offer plenty of bags as well as water fountains for the fur babies and humans. It's best to go when it's not so hot out, which is in the early morning or late afternoon. The weather is a little more bearable in the fall and winter oppose to the spring and summer. Bring extra water and a toy/ball for fetch since there's plenty of room to run around.

But at the risk of breaking a hip it was more than worth it. Imagine sitting on the beach with the waves coming in and the breeze blowing as you relax petting your dog!! It's amazing how fast a couple of hours can go by. By the way parking at the beach in Florida is nowhere near as hard or complicated as it is in California!!

A picturesque park with a fun playground…read more I've never in my life seen such variety of people. It seemed like every race of human being was here with smiles. And their kids all running around playing together. It was beautiful. Big dog park too. Only bummer was the baseball field nearby was locked up. Bit of a bummer when you want to have batting practice or have babes that want to play in the dirt.

Park was very clean; it looked like everyone was doing a good job of cleaning up after their dogs. Gazebo, benches, lawn -- all are in good shape. Not a lot of shady spots, but a good experience overall. Lots of friendly dogs (and people).
