One of the only places in Madison that does dip (sns/ powder) and it was really good! Picture is from almost 3 weeks of wear and still no chips. While the atmosphere was clean and the staff was friendly, the experience left me unsatisfied. The tech who worked on my feet was especially considerate and took his time to ensure that my pedicure turned out awesome! However, I was very dissatisfied with the manicure, which was done by a different lady. She was friendly and talkative, but honestly just did a terrible job. It's like she wasn't paying attention to what she was doing even remotely. The polish on my manicure was overly thick and took forever to dry--and it dried a little lumpy. Initially the edges were uneven, but one of the employees noticed and fixed the edges before I left the establishment. I was told that my nails were dry, but as soon as I left the salon I botched the overly thick polish. My friend and I returned to have 3 nails touched up, and the employee who fixed them was unnecessarily rude about it. Overall while I received a great pedicure, my manicure (and manicure experience) was not up to par with their prices or my expectations. This was my go to place for the last 5 years, but recently the nail techs changed and I got a terrible gel removal and pedi/nail polish. Nails look streaky, bumpy and the coat is too thin. ABSOLUTELY ZERO STARS. I never write reviews on anything but I literally downloaded yelp just to write a review for this horrendous nail salon. First off, they gave me the wrong nail color and since I realized they didn't choose the right color # they completely dismissed me when I said I wanted to change the color and gave me an attitude and refused to change it bc they "did it already". And I had to pay full price for it. I would've been fine with a discount at least. The guy did my manicure while I was getting my pedicure done and the light that's supposed to dry the gel, kept falling and burning me while ruining my nails in the process and I had to hold it up for him bc he was rushing doing my nails on the arm of the pedicure chair. He also didn't prep my nails before putting the polish on bc i "didn't need it" and mind u this wasn't acrylic it was supposed to be a full manicure process and still made me pay full price!! This was the ABSOLUTE WORST experience I've ever had at a nail salon. 1) The man doing my nails had a client before me and clearly did not wash his hands because he had nail dust all over his hands and arms 2) While waiting for my gel to soak-off he told me to hang tight then proceeded to go smoke a cigarette. This place did not give me a good vibe. I have been looking for a new nail salon, the place I went to, the family left Madison, so the last seven years, I have been trying to find some place on that level. The standard I have is high but not impossible. I went into Paradise Nails because I was at the shopping plaza for another reason, I walked in, I immediately felt like I was not welcome there. I was trying to talk to the person who was there, the place was empty except for one patron. This gave me my first red flag, but the rudeness and unwelcome feeling continued and I turned right around and left. I am not in the habit of going to establishments that don't want my business. I ask for callus remover for my mom and he decided to do a delux pedicure... she didn't want her cuticles cut and he did it anyway. No one greeted me, no one even looked up at the new customer so I said to the room in general, "Hello, I have a 1:30 appointment. My name is Christy." Silence. And so I added, "I'll just go grab my polish and wait?" And no more words were ever spoken. Not a single soul acknowledged me. Not with words. Not with gestures. Nothing. ASTOUNDING. I didn't even finish my acrylic set. I asked the lady for a natural, French trip (blended). She said okay, "natural." And so, in my head, I'm thinking "yeah, sure!" She goes about it. She's nice, but she's freaking ROUGH with those files. I'll post a picture where I'm bleeding. But besides the occasionally yanking my hand away, "ouch," she keeps going. When she brings the gel polish out, she does the base colour. When she brings out the clear polish, I ask her where the white (for the tip) is. She then proceeds to tell me I'm wrong - when there is a PICTURE - and I need to keep the nails I have. I tell her no, I want a blended French manicure for my BIRTHDAY nails. Then she starts YELLING at me that I'm wrong for the whole store. One of the other ladies speaks better English, so she offered to paint my nails a different colour, if I don't want them to refile (after I've already bled) keeping in mind, this lady wants to charge me EXTRA money to redo them, she says when the other girl offered to fix them. This is one of the only nail salons in the area that does acrylic, and for my first appointment there I had a pretty good experience. They seemed to be booked and I had an appointment, but when I got there 10 minutes before my booked time they were behind. My friend and I waited for about 20 minutes before they started our nails, but it was okay because we were able to sit in the massage chairs and chit chat. The reason I am giving 4 stars is because this acrylic manicure turned out looking super nice and clean. Just got a pedicure here last night with a few girlfriends and we were impressed! I've never had a hot stone pedi before and I will definitely be back for another, it was so relaxing. My technician also did a great job with the polish and really shaped my nails well. Ambiance is less than ideal. There's random things scattered throughout the store, and a broken ATM machine sitting in the middle of it. Seems slightly disorganized. We were also disappointed when we arrived as we had made an appointment for three pedicures at 7:30 PM and when we got there all of the technicians were busy and they said we would have to wait. Isn't the point of making an appointment that you don't have to wait once you get there? So that was annoying, luckily we didn't have to wait too long (10ish min). So, come here if you'd like a good pedicure, haven't tried their manicures yet but I plan to. Mine ran around $30 which is fairly normal for a pedi. But don't expect to feel like you're in a spa. read more

I've been here twice and had very different experiences. First time: I came for a lunchtime shellac manicure with a friend who often goes to their other location in Middletown. With no appointment, we had a very short wait and then got side-by-side manicures. Both were well done and no nonsense. This isn't a place to lounge about, receive a hand massage and get the "spa experience". It's plain and simply a place to get your nails done. Which is fine by me as the regular manicures are only $15 and shellac $30. This time, my shellac lasted about a week before some nails peeled off. As this was my first time with shellac, I don't know if this meant it was poorly done since they advertise 2 weeks no chip or if I'm just hard on my nails. Regardless, the color did not go down very close to my cuticle to start with so the remaining nails looked super grown out by 2 weeks. Second time: Took a friend from out of town on a Saturday afternoon. We came in and had to make an appointment for about an hour later in the day. We came back and both got shellac. Her technician cut her cuticle to the point of bleeding several times and mine started to square off my nails without asking (even though they were clearly rounded from my last manicure.) I stopped him but upon seeing how short my nails would have to be to go back to rounded on the couple he'd done, I decided to try square for once. I had to ask for several nails to be refiled when he was done as they were uneven. At the end, the shellac had some pretty bad blemishes from him touching it before it was dry at some points. This shellac only last 3 days before one of my nails started to peel off and my friends only 5 days for almost all of her nails (her technician lightly filed the ends after shellac application which is a huge no-no as this breaks the seal between the shellac and the nail). So overall, I do not think I'll be returning, especially not for shellac. If you happen to get their good technicians, remember their names and make an appointment with that person specifically or else risk wasting your money. Also side note, they only accept tips in cash. It was very rushed; I was doing some work and I think she only put one coat of polish on my toes. The washing and pumice was 1 or 2 brushes and a couple swipes. I got a gel French manicure here and it is one of my least favorite. I've been getting French for about two years and noticed they do it about the same everywhere but here. It's $35 for a french gel set and that's just for polish. Minimal nail work and cuticle cutting, no hand soaking or cleanup around your nails. I have pretty terrible hangnails during the winter and get manicures to make sure they stay under control, but all they did was slap some polish on and call it a day. Less than impressed. read more

I paid $35 for a shellac job that looks grown out, which leads me to believe they purposely didn't paint near my cuticles so that id have to come back earlier. Cuticle job and rest of the manicure were fine. The staff was friendly but didn't speak great English. The service wasn't terribly fast or slow but I did somehow end up entertaining the technicians 8 year old daughter that was clearly bored and chatting up all of the clients. I was here for a manicure and pedicure which I paid $110 dollars combined. When I walked in everything seemed okay. However, the lady that did my pedicure was so rushed in her job, barely scrubbed my feet and when i requested for the $ 10 callous removal service it seemed like I was disturbing her. She barely wanted to even cut my nails or scrub my feet. I timed how long my pedicure took including placing nail polish and it was 6 minutes..she barely even soaked my feet. When I asked why she did not even bother to scrub my feet or trim nicely my nails or even do the lotion massage and use the hot towel, she just looked at me. I understand there was a challenge in communication because the other lady tried to come and explain to her what i wanted, however, she never bothered to even listen to me when i told her that the colors she is painting on my toes is not what I selected. She just kept saying it new color and new technology. When it was manicure, I tried to explain that the other person who usually does my nails will do it (because I was willing to wait the 15minute), but no, she said she understood what I wanted and would listen. Alas, I should have just wanted because this was worse. She never went through the procedure of soaking my nails and trimming, she just began fixing the nail extensions. I said I just wanted tips, not the whole nail but no, she went on . She was rough with the machines that my nails were bleeding and became too painful. When I asked her to slow down, she just says sorry and continued roughly. When it came to the shaping and colors, she still did the wrong color and shape. I told her it was not what I wanted and she had the wrong shade but all I said was ignored even when her colleague told her to try and find the correct colors. and guess what, my manicure took 14 minutes- yes one can say time was efficiently used but the job was rushed and sloppy and horrible!!!This was one of the worst services and I also blame myself for sitting through this mess and being complacent to this bad service. I kept saying maybe she will hear me and fix what i am asking but she never did despite my several complaints. Ok. I don't usually write reviews but I need to because I absolutely LOVE this place! Ok, let's start at the beginning! I am a regular customer at paradise. I usually go every two weeks on the dot for a full-in. However if I have gone out of town for a few weeks they still remember my face. There is great customer service here and their nail color selection is awesome and you don't have to pay extra for OPI. I often alternate between gel and acrylic nails and they have no problem accommodating that. The employees are also honest and caring about what they do. I once left my debit card and they called me and told me I left it and held it so I could pick it up the next day. The services are also very well priced and they are the bomb.com when it comes to eyebrows and almond shaped nails. They are skillful at designs and don't charge extra like some places if you have more than one color nail. Having an appointment really helps speed up the process, but if you have free time between class recommend go then for a walk in. But if you do have to wait it is defiantly worth it. They are a great shop and they always make me feel welcome and happy to be there! They have a customer until I move from time! read more
