The lady claimed it takes them longer, which is BS. It takes mere seconds to alternate between colors and takes no longer to dry. I wasn't asking for a design on each toe. Literally just the color itself on each toe. Despite me politely mentioning it, they stuck with charging 5 extra bucks. I timed how long it took for 3 coats of gel, and it was 10 minutes total, which included the heat lamp to cure the gel. That's just a little over 3 minutes for each round of paint for both feet. Alternating between colors took seconds. I REALLY wanted those colors, and since it's gross to charge 5 extra dollars for no reason, that extra 5 dollar charge was the tip. The deduction of stars has nothing to do with how it turned out and everything to do with a lack of ethics. This was my first time back in years. Unfortunately, I won't be back.

Nail techs aren't that friendly. The lady I got didnt talk much and I got the vibe she was in a rush and just wanted to be done. They don't seem to sweep much. The nail dust was so thick on the floor I had to be careful walking because it made the floor slick. Here's the most disgusting part: My nail tech pulled out a pair of cuticle clippers from her drawer, put a splash of alcohol on them then proceeded to use them on me. If this is their idea of proper sanitation, I shutter to think what else goes on that is highly unsanitary. Pacific Nails is way better than Universal nails in my opinion. I would go there instead. You usually get in fast there and they arent in a rush to push you out the door. Their floor isnt slick with nail dust and, while they still dont have superb sanitary practices, they are better than Universal. Satisfied with my color, though!

I showed her online where it said the gel manicure was only $28 and she pulled out a menu (which I was not given) to show me that the $28 was simply just to put color on and because she plucked the dead skin off around my nails it was an additional $15. There was zero communication about what was included or the actual price. The polish is a mess around the edges. She was working on two other clients at the same time as me as well. While trying to prove her point with the menu she even had to ask other workers where on the menu it said my service total was (it wasn't on there). She then finished by telling me that they will talk to their manager to have the menu updated for next time but that that was still the cost. I will not be back. I don't recommend you go.

I am tired of RUDE, non-English speaking foreigners providing overpriced, sub-par services.

I decided to switch to a simple gel mani instead. They ended up just filing my nails and applying gel--no cuticle care at all. As a barista, my hands go through a lot, so I really needed the full clean-up. When I brought it up, they told me that would've been $35 instead of $25, but no one explained the difference or gave me the option beforehand. Overall, the communication was poor, and they made assumptions without asking or clarifying. I left feeling rushed, disappointed, and like my needs weren't really considered.
