I like the color of my nails but that's about the only pleasant experience I had. Waited for a good 30 minutes before being seated and about another 10 before someone came to do my nails. Nail techs aren't that friendly. The lady I got didnt talk much and I got the vibe she was in a rush and just wanted to be done. They don't seem to sweep much. The nail dust was so thick on the floor I had to be careful walking because it made the floor slick. Here's the most disgusting part: My nail tech pulled out a pair of cuticle clippers from her drawer, put a splash of alcohol on them then proceeded to use them on me. If this is their idea of proper sanitation, I shutter to think what else goes on that is highly unsanitary. Pacific Nails is way better than Universal nails in my opinion. I would go there instead. You usually get in fast there and they arent in a rush to push you out the door. Their floor isnt slick with nail dust and, while they still dont have superb sanitary practices, they are better than Universal. Satisfied with my color, though! read more

I have been all over Amarillo to find a place that can stay on top of trendy nails. This is the PLACE!! Well some other places don't even know how to do an average design, this is the place where you can show them a picture off Pinterest and they will gladly do it for you. They are well-stocked with colors, for both solar and regular nail polish. And they have the most stock diamonds, bows and other fun accessories for your nails. They DO NOT charge per accessory like some other shops and I've gone to. Their prices are GREAT!! Highly recommended! And it doesn't matter what chair you sit in. read more

Being nice by giving 2 stars for the different workers out of 10 only 3 are good at their job the staff are mean like one smacked my foot to get my foot in the water while getting a pedicure. Another time a man cut my cuticles and I started to bleed and he just sprayed my food with alcohol and kept going it hurt really bad I should've walked out ! Other times they are pushing you to get gel, French tips, designs then pushing for manicures and facial waxing often asking more than once or twice. I'm not a negative person unless I have given an adequate amount of chances to multiple people there and they have all failed me will not be going back. Clean salon and they accept walk-ins. They were busy, but have plenty of staff to accommodate without a wait. I got a milk and honey salt glow pedicure and a manicure with shellac polish for a total of $65. read more

All of the nail techs do a great job at giving pedicures and basic gel manicures. If you want a full set, I recommend seeing Julie or Lina. They do great and consistent work. Management isn't very friendly when it comes to fixing issues, but the nail techs do their best to fix any problem. If you have a problem with a nail, I recommend to see the techs and avoid talking to their manager if possible. He's rude. read more

Thought I could give them a second chance and went again to Universal Nails yesterday. I had a wonderful experience with a manicurist named Nikki. She was very kind and attentive. I enjoyed that she took the time to make a little conversation as opposed to some of the other workers that can be rude. The place was clean and well-kept. I had a really bad experience at this place. They sat me down and made me wait for half an hour. I was there for so long even the water got cold. I waited patiently meanwhile they were taking care of other ladies that came in after I did. I felt discriminated against because they gave priority to all the white ladies that came in after I did. I asked them for a towel to at least get my feet out from the cold water and they did not even do that for me. I did not want to make a scene in front of the other customers so I called after I left and asked for the manager. The lady that answered said he was not in until next week. I asked her for her name since she had been there, she did not answer and hang up on me. Very unprofessional! I will NEVER go to this place again because their lack of professionalism.
