So it was crucial to work with the right person who had all the necessary expertise, local knowledge, and persistence to find a solution. Throughout the process, Duncan was consistently available, responsive, and transparent. Ms. Gale Lee, Reverse Mortgage Loan Officer, is a wonderful lady with integrity!…read more Since FHA opened up its door to condo unit reverse mortgage, she is constantly educating me how different kinds of loans work and their requirements etc. She also gave me the information of FHA approved condo buildings, and I was able to book tours of many condo units. Gale is also very kind and patient with me. I send her so many email messages asking questions, but she replies every single question that I asked in timely manner, and I learned a lot from her because she knows so much! Reverse Mortgage is rather complex procedure, but she explains to me in the way that I can understand, and now I can clearly see difference of each loan. She is very hard working, even when I send emails at night expecting replies next day, but often she replied late night too! I felt bad that she was working after hour, but at the same time, I can see that she is very dedicated to her work! Even when I got chocked up thinking about my late husband (he passed away four months ago), she gave me very kind words which made me feel wonderful human side of her graciousness other than typical business-like loan officer type. Unfortunately, for the last two months I couldn't find the unit that I like and could apply for the reverse mortgage, but I haven't giving up the hope yet, nor Gale. We will be continuously communicating until I succeed. Thanks to Ms. Gale Lee, that I really do appreciate her expertise & kindness. From the beginning, Jodie encouraged us to reach out whenever we were interested in a property. Although I knew this required extra time and effort from her team, their guidance made a tremendous difference throughout the home-buying process. They helped us get pre-approved early, and their patience and persistence in gathering the necessary information paid off. Moving to Oahu during escrow created additional challenges--including buying a car--but Jodie coached us through everything without putting our closing at risk. There was a significant amount of paperwork involved, but Jodie, Kasie, Jeannie, and Derek were phenomenal about keeping us informed and on track. We were able to close in about 30 days, and they helped us lock in our interest rate before rates increased. What I appreciated most was Jodie's thoughtful advice and her ability to recommend options suited to our specific needs. She introduced us to strategies such as a 2-1 buydown--something we would not have considered without her guidance. The whole process took just 43 days!! My sister in law had recommended our Rowena Wong, as I told her we were interested in purchasing our first home. Rowena forwarded us to loan officer Matt, to help us finance our home. Initially, we planned to buy in 1-2 years, but we made it happen in less than 2 months. I met with Matt and got a pre-approval on the same day (in less than 2 hours.) While sitting in the waiting area while he was with his client before me, I found a property online and texted it to my realtor asking about it. We toured the property that same evening, and made an offer the next day. All done within 24 hours, and all thanks to Matt, Rowena and Jay. With their guidance, we submitted an offer and even beat out a higher offer. Our offer got accepted in the following week. Some call it crazy, but I say it's all in God's perfect timing. Matt, Rowena and Jay made it happen for us. I mean it when I say we couldn't have done it without them. They went above and beyond to make sure our first home buying process went quickly (really really quickly) and smoothly. Matt sure we had all our sh*t together, and our transaction was perfect! I was super nervous that it wouldn't happen, but he reassured me that we would get through the transaction without a hitch. One of my favorite things is that he is easy to talk to and relatable. He even gave me some financial advice to alleviate my debts which made a big difference in my monthly bills. I also appreciated Matt staying late hours to meet with us after we were done with work, and not minding bringing our baby to the office. If you asked me a year ago, I would not have think it would be possible to own our own home in 2019, but yet, here we are! I will definitely recommend House of Finance for anyone looking to buy or refinance their home.
