February 2023: And another one! We were able to acquire our next door unit for an unbeatable price and it was a private sale, no realtors, just owner to owner. Shannon and her team took care of everything and got me an awesome rate for a horrible time we were in. 30 year rates were over 6%, but Shannon got me a 10 year ARM with BOH for only 5.5%. Hopefully, rates go back down and I can refinance with Shannon and her team again. 2020: Another successful refinance! 3rd times a charm. Shame on me for benefiting during a pandemic but I had to refinance when the rates dropped. As quick as they had done it before I was able to secure a rate of 2.5% from 3.25% that we just closed on in April 2020. From the initial purchase of our home in May 2019 at 4.5%, we refinanced October 2019 at 3.99% with Aloha Lending, again in April 2020 at 3.25% with Aloha Lending, and just closed this month, October 2020 at 2.5%. My wife and I worked with Shannon and her team in purchasing our house back in 2016. Since then we've refinanced our house twice with her. Having someone help us locally has made the process a lot easier and we felt like we could really trust that they had our best interests in mind. During my second refinance I did go with another company because of issues with an open HELOC I had that it wasn't in my best interest to go with Aloha Lending. Shannon gave me tips on what to look for even though she wasn't getting the business. Long story short the mainland company I chose to go with was a disaster which took over 5 months and ended up with me withdrawing from the process. That was a blessing in disguise in which rates went lower and Shannon found a work around way of rolling my HELOC into a personal loan, refinancing my house and then getting another HELOC to pay off the personal loan. It was a lot of work but Aloha Lending did a lot of that leg work for us and I just had to show up and sign papers.
