I have been there multiple times to pick up soil for my landscaping off my back yard. All my citrus, pomegranate, ornamental perennials, and raised bed veggies are super happy! But there's something about being around plants that makes me happy. My mom has the most beautiful garden, so when she came to Chico to visit me, I thought she'd love the Plant Barn. It turns out, we both did! I appreciated the welcoming employees, but they also didn't hover. We were able to stroll the property, and admire all of the beautiful plants. It was really peaceful. Although I didn't buy anything, I spotted a few things in the gift shop that will likely bring me back. I've heard that they host classes - wreath making, flower arrangements, etc. - and I would definitely sign up for something like that!

(Check out their website both for ordering online and for more information on the benefits of "sustainable" seeds.) I didn't get any of the eggs because we grow our own but from our conversation they clearly know chickens and eggs. They have great specials on seeds too; they have 99 varieties for $.99...so that is pretty cool. Also, talk to them about their grains. Most place don't carry grains but they have a great selection and can give you good advice on when and where to plant them and the best way to harvest them.
