We took the Brewery Tour and Tasting which was 60 minutes long. Our tour guide, Jack, took us…read morethrough a brief history of the company and talked us through the process of making beer. I would consider this more of a straightforward educational tour, rather than one that gives you a dad joke per minute (this could be a pro or a con depending on who you are). I thought one of the most interesting parts was stepping into the refrigerated hop storage area and being able to hold a hop cone and smell everything. The tour ends with a tasting of four beers and we each got a souvenir keychain. The Brewery Tour and Tasting was $13.26 per person after tax. If you remove the cost of the beer and the keychain, the tour itself is

Visiting Sierra Nevada Brewing's original facility in Chico has been on my brewery bucket list for…read moremany years. It was at the same time unexpected and also exactly as I had imagined. The brewery is outside of downtown on a huge campus. Public free parking is covered and nearby, you can see the employee entrance and all the brewery buildings beyond. The restaurant & bar entrance is closest to the parking (see separate review), but there's so much more to see on your visit. For beer fans, the highlight will probably be the taproom and merchandise shop in the farther building. It definitely felt like the employee bar, with many clearly finishing shifts for a beer before heading home. It's a small bar, but has an amazing tap selection including some not available to try anywhere else. They have small tables too, which overlooks like the tour entrance area and merchandise store. It's huge and there's a ton of swag. You can also get all their fresh cases and special bottled selections to go, again including some not available elsewhere. Prices are reasonable and it's definitely worth a stop! If you want to do a tour, they offer many different ones including ones with special tastings but they should be booked ahead of time.

A brewery that understands what will make them successful in the current environment. Instead of…read morefollowing the trends, they seem to have figured out the KISS (Keep it simple students) principle and to treat your customer well. Stopped by on way to Chico during a recent visit on a day they were closed. I placed an online order for pickup only to realize when I arrived that the brewery location is closed for much of the week. On me for the error. I've made that mistake previously and dealt with employees who just ignored me and those that chose to acknowledge me that I needed to come back when they were open. The staff here now only acknowledged me, they went the extra mile to alleviate the error. Service was beyond great and they made me feel valued. I visited the Chico taproom/restaurant location and the product matches the service level. I tried one of the infused (peach) beers and it was very well balanced and easy to drink on the hot day. Hard to brew a simple lager that does not have any "off tastes". They seemed to figured out how to do it. Breweries that are struggling can take note from Farmer's. Lots of great beers and instead of trying to become viral with some crazy Quadruple Hazy Hybrid Pastery Barrel Aged Sour concoction, treat your customer well and make a good clean beer and you'll be successful like I think Farmer's will be/continue to be. If you are in the area, worth the visit as you'll see what craft breweries used to be like before it became overly commercialized.

Told us how "Burnt Barn Distillery " got started, what plans they have for the future, (looking forward to "Food Truck" weekends!!) Took us on a tour of the distillery, was very knowledgeable!! The grounds are will kept, patio area looks very inviting!! Felt the price for the Vodka and Gin was fair priced, (tell you add in the price for tasting and Ca. tax). The price for the tasting is a bit too high, $15. for two small tastes. "Even if you do get to keep "One Monogrammed Tasting Glass", was out of line. Burnt Barn will soon have three more spirits to samples, a Rum a Brandy an Shiraz Port!! Even 4 tastings at $15. would be a bit high!! They also Do Not Comp you the tastings if you purchase a bottle of Vodka or Gin. That makes the cost of a bottle even higher!!! I will return, probably to just purchase a bottle or two, will pass on the tastings unless the price drops significantly or they comp the tasting? Hope the best for Burnt Barn Distillery!!

Upon arrival we were offered a sample of their sangria which is made fresh every Saturday morning, which was so good and fresh tasting. (Spoiler alert, I left with a bottle). The service there was excellent, the gentleman that helped us was incredibly professional. Their entire facility is very cute, lots of spaces to lounge, including an upstairs which was a little warm until the A/C kicked on. A fan upstairs in the height of summer would've really elevated the space. The views from the second floor were incredible, very picturesque, along with the view from their stairwell. I'm excited to revisit in the fall time when it's not so hot outside. They had a lot of cute, fun, card games, puzzles, and other things to do. Lots of cozy nooks to sit in, couches, bar tops, lounger chairs, etc. which truly felt like the inviting space I have created in my own home. I am writing this review as I sit on my couch and enjoy a chilled glass of sangria and I encourage you to visit Odyssey at the very least, for their sangria. I will be back in the fall!

The service isn't too notch like some of the other wineries in the area (don't say hi when you walk in, you kind of have to wonder to figure out where to go/find someone to speak with). We didn't try any of their foods but they did mention they have cheese and meats from local and non-local farms - I think Santa Rosa area? Overall it was nice but I wish the service was a little bit better and more welcoming.

Not only is their wine and champagne fantastic (organic-sulphate free!), it's also ideal for the kind of quaint and intimate gathering I was desiring. Everywhere I turned, there was a sweet face to converse and catch-up with. We brought in a great musician to play his saxophone while we all danced around. And my charcuterie spread was of the chain, fantastic. It covered a whole dining table. My favorite was enjoying my apricot and cream filled cake from nearby Upper Crust Bakery. Their server was on point. She kept everyone's champagne glasses full, which was crucial on this hot summer's evening. I wish I could party like this every weekend. It felt like a real Napa-Chico experience. I'd recommend to anyone to have their special event here. Thank you LaRocca, I'll be back! -Prairie

Highly acidic flat wine that had a few varieties in bottle. We choked our way thru the first tasting and apologized to the staff member " it just wasn't our flavor". The tasting room was a bit cluttered and a nice tasting bar but staff not the wine held our attention. Maybe there's reason why wine has improved since the Dawn of time.
