So I've been getting denials of coverage from my insurance. They even billed for an appointment I had cancelled. Nurse Goodin does not listen and does not care. I was in terrible pain and she prescribed a medicine that tore up my stomach. I had told her that I cannot take statins and she prescribed a statin. She claimed that she discussed obesity with me, but it never happened. I went to her for excruciating back and leg pain. She wouldn't even order an MRI until I had to go to the hospital for the pain.

TMC's customer service has been incredibly frustrating. I tried to schedule my second shingles…read morevaccine, only to discover that it can't be done through the MyChart app. The app instructs you to call, but the phone number listed there is incorrect, so we had to search online for the correct number. When we finally called, the recording said they were short-staffed and suggested sending a message through MyChart instead. We chose to stay on the line (because how do you schedule an appointment in an email), and after one full hour, we still hadn't moved up in the queue. Scheduling a simple vaccine shouldn't be this difficult. It's disappointing that accessing basic healthcare services requires this much time and effort. This experience has left me questioning the level of customer service and health care TMC provides.

We never feel rushed or unheard. Another reviewer complained about the corporate ambience. While that's mostly true, I still remember the old days of having to take the day off from work, only to be held captive in waiting rooms for hours with nothing but last year's People magazine to pore over. Us magazine if I was lucky. No thanks. I'm grateful for the efficient experience. My last visit (physical) was less than an hour, including labs and vaccines. For anyone seeking a primary care physician who combines deep medical knowledge with a practical, empathetic, and clear communication style, I highly recommend Dr. Clark.

When reading this, ask yourself: Is this protocol a reflection of the lack of acceptable patient…read morecare overall? I think it is, thus I've moved to another nephrology practice. AKDHC's protocol does not allow the immediate posting of a patient's diagnostic results to its portal, including blood work and radiology procedures, until the patient's next visit, regardless of when it's scheduled. "It won't be reviewed until that time," is what the protocol says. That's an unacceptable practice for every patient. An AKDHC MD told me, "It doesn't want to deal with anxious patients concerned about results until the next visit." The tests, actually, are reviewed by the medical staff in case of immediate attention, but that's not disclosed to the patient. All AKDHC has to do to alleviate anxiety is to inform patients that the data has been checked and then post it to the portal. Nope, they won't do it. Often, however, you can find them elsewhere, such as the websites for the offices that performed the tests. I was informed of that after I raised my objection and said, "If I can get them elsewhere, there is justification to post them on your portal." Also, no, to that. BTW, as a patient, it is your right to get test results from AKDHC immediately. AKDHC appears indifferent to that right I asked the medical chief to respond to my concern, in writing, to justify this protocol, from a patient's perspective. I've yet to receive a response other than from the operations manager, who has no authority over this matter. For many reasons, this practice is unjustified in the 21st century, reflecting a lack of concern for patient care. Uncaring, no matter what it believes.

I waited for about 5 minutes and then Diana came and got me and took me to an exam room. She asked all the requisite questions, was knowledgable and personable. I had had a tough day with issues at home and she put me at ease immediately. Then Dr. Pozo Garcia came in. He told me his background, told me he would tell me what he was typing into this laptop, made direct eye contact with me and listened to me as I told him my history. He explained what tests he was going to order for me and why. He had a great sense of humor. I connected with him on a high trust level. After we were done, Victoria did a blood draw with no issues. I would recommend Dr. Pozo Garcia, Diana and Victoria to anyone who has kidney issues. These people were highly professional and yet very personable.

The nurse speaks with you about what you need done and then they get you all set up in a comfy recliner chair with a tv, drinks and snacks. The first revive is $75 which is what I had done. I really enjoyed my experience and the staff were so friendly that I already scheduled my next appointment. I have POTS so an iv in the summer is essential and they make it so easy. I was able to use my FSA to pay!

Update: The third…read moretime is still the charm. Her blood numbers determined she does NOT have stage 3 kidney disease. The previous tests were not SPECIFIC enough to make that serious diagnosis. Technically we didn't know enough and had to go by the last warning from blood tests one and two. In final, she was one point away from normal on the high side on a special exacting blood test. That's not CKD and the certainty of death. We did change our Diet to low/no sodium and zero alcohol. It's been weeks and weeks for this answer, so we learned a few things and lost a few pounds. Life was on hold. Now it's not...... Be Cool...

They never told me I was no longer a patient. (isn't that abandonment?). They said because I was a new patient I had to have a referral which they could've told me when I made the appointment, but they didn't. They said they needed my medical records, but I don't have medical records from being treated for a UTI. I would not recommend this office.

We ended up staying for several hours, as they needed to run follow-up tests three hours later, but the experience was as comfortable as it could be. We had a private room with a TV, which helped make the wait more manageable. They also gave him a folder with all of his test results, making it easy for him to follow up with his regular doctor. Overall, I really appreciated the prompt care and the kindness of the entire team.
