Service here was great! Jose went above and beyond. Haven't had customer like this in years! We had several issues with our Peterbilt and took it to a few different places to get it checked out and Jose was able to figure out what was going on and get it fixed. We didn't have to call for information or to check up on the status. Jose called us and let us know what was going on and what he was doing to get it fixed. Top tier service here! Worse service center I ever seen from the time I arrived they were rude and unprofessional they tore up more on my truck When in to have a fuel line replaced on the motor ended up breaking a sensor and stranding me on the side of the road and when I called them to tell them about what had happened they denied any wrongdoing left me stranded on the side of the road and telling me that I would have to pay to have it fixed will never do business with that kenworth again fixed read more

And there is Peterbilt shop in san jose but i always take my truck to them. And the guy in front desk name Giovanni is very professional and always keeps me updated on my truck. SUBJECT: NEGLIGENT AND UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS MANNERS AT NORCAL KENWORTH OF MORGAN HILL, CA In June, 2019 we dropped our truck off at NorCal KW of Morgan Hill, CA to replace leaking head gasket per their recommendation. NorcalKW used a WIRE WHEEL (an abrasive material attached to a power tool) to clean/polish the surface of the block, the head shows signs of polishing as well. PACCAR does NOT want wire wheel to be used on their engines because they are not designed to be resurfaced. The Technician Sam G also noted that our unit was more difficult to work on due to the suspension, the two OEM air bags on the springs made it difficult to find proper footing and made it more difficult to torque the cylinder head to spec. On 4/10/2020 (less than 10 months / 16,000 miles later) the head gasket failed. On 4/17/20 Norcal KW told us that PACCAR will not do repair under warranty due to pitting of the head and block. Norcal KW stated that we put watered down coolant, bad coolant, wrong coolant, low quality coolant in our truck. On 4/21/20 Norcal KW Shop Mgr Sam Benavidez called and told us firmly that the head gasket did not fail, he told us that we refused to have new coolant put in our truck when they offered it to us in June, 2019. On 4/23/20 Norcal KW Shop Mgr Sam Benavidez called us into a meeting with NorCal KW and told us that he MISSPOKE on the coolant, our coolant was good, they tested it. We asked again why the head gasket failed prematurely. Shop Mgr Benavidez told us that the head gasket did not fail. We asked him why the head gasket is severely burnt ? Benavidez didn't know anything about the condition of the head gasket. He asked the Tech "the head gasket is burnt?" Norcal KW Tech told us that it was liner protrusion that caused the head gasket to burn. We asked if NorCal KW checked for liner protrusion in June, 2019 and Shop Mgr. Benavidez said NO. We asked WHY NOT? Shop Mgr. Benavidez said they didn't check for liner protrusion in June, 2019 because we didn't tell NorCal KW to do that. We were under the impression up until that moment that diagnosis would be part of any dealership's or repair shop's procedure. Benavidez told us that NorCal KW doesn't do diagnosis unless it's requested by the customer. He explained, it is because UPS, Fedex, the State, the County brings their equipment to them and tell them what to fix so NorCal KW assumes that all other customers are the same. Sometime in April/May,2020 NorCal KW did a complete teardown of our engine WITHOUT our Consent/Authorization or Knowledge and sent it to a machine shop for resurfacing AGAINST PACCAR (Manufacturer) recommendation. The machine shop noticed that the counterbore is worn, sent our block back to NorCal KW for removal of access parts because it was prohibiting them from being able to resurface the block and cut the counterbore. Our motor shouldn't have been there in the first place...1. Because we never authorized this work 2. Because PACCAR (Manufacturer) already told NorCal KW that they can no longer continue with repair due to the pitting of the head and the block. NorCal KW emailed us on 5/7/20 and asked us to come into their shop to discuss engine failure. On 5/8/20 during the meeting NorCal KW explained to us that worn out counterbore is what caused the head gasket to fail prematurely and ultimately caused engine failure and Sam Benavidez told us that resurfacing of the head and the block is still a repair option. On 5/12/20 we were provided with a nearly $10,000 Repair Order for the Unauthorized work that NorCal KW did when they did a complete teardown of our engine and sent it to a machine shop. On 5/22/20 we told Norcal KW we are not paying them for the Unauthorized work they did, and Sam Benavidez in response told us okay, we are not getting our truck back until we pay. NorCal Kenworth ignored our emails regarding this matter from 5/26/20 thru 6/19/20. After many calls and emails to Kenworth Corporate Headquarters finally on June 24,2020 NorCal KW called us into a meeting and Randy Bradshaw - Director of Operations told us that FORTUNATELY for them PACCAR procedures have changed in the last 3 months so it gets them off the hook regarding their NEGLIGENT ACTIONS 12 months ago. WE HAVE BEEN DEALING WITH MONTHS OF DOWNTIME DUE TO NORCAL KENWORTH'S NEGLIGENCE and UNSCRUPULOUS BUSINESS MANNERS and PACCAR'S POOR COMMUNICATION SKILLS TO NORCAL KW REGARDING THEIR REPAIR RECOMMENDATIONS OF THEIR PRODUCT (PACCAR MX 13 ENGINE)!!!! Had my power window/power lock module go out on my truck the other day. Called the service department at nor Cal kw and explained my situation. Passenger window stuck all the way down and won't go back up. They got me in and out that afternoon which as an owner operator I was extremely greatful for. I usually don't go to shops or let anyone work on my truck but me, that being said the technician did a great job! Driver's lounge was clean and comfortable with satellite TV, the service manager even bought me a cold drink out of the vending machine while I waited. I highly recommend them! read more

Great parts counter staff, very welcoming and knowledgeable. The two gentlemen greeted me and said they would be right with me. Parts availability was great too, I came in looking for a dash valve for my 98 Pete which they had and got me back on the road. The only bad thing I could say about them is while i was checking out i over heard who i think was the parts manager or supervisor yelling at one of his employee's about where to put a USB stick for a keyboard, WHILE THE EMPLOYEE WAS HELPING ANOTHER CUSTOMER!!! I had to get a power core for my work truck they say that there hours are form 7 am to 7 pm and this is true but if you do get there at 7 am you will not be able to buy any parts from them because the guy that runs the price department doesn't get in till 7:30 in the morning that's the only reason why they get a one star customer service is really poor read more

Horrible rip off from this company and its service department! Beware they will charge you at least 4 times their quoted minimum only to call you and say they could not source the part/s and to come pick up the broken part! Very disappointed even after trying to discuss the over charging with their Service Manager named Samual today. I called him two days in a row to resolve the price issue: I have a Mack truck, and went to their office to see if I could make an appointment for a tune up and safety check on our Mack Truck which has been sitting unused for over several years. I was assured they could do the service (oil change, tune up and safety check) and was quoted roughly $600 for that. When we tried to drive the truck 2 miles to their Morgan Hill facility on Condit Road, we had the hydrolic clutch braided line burst. I call them to tell them we were delayed and what had happened. We attempted to remove the burst line and it was stuck on. Well, then I returned to their office and asked if they could come out to our location, approximately 2 miles from them and was quoted $180 road call for one hour to come out and replace the braided clutch line. I agreed and we set up a time for that. They called the morning of and I gave them the vin number so that they could source the broken clutch line. They were several hours late showing up and I was told they would still show, just wait. When they did show up the line was easily removed (10 minutes tops) BUT they did not have the part to replace the line. I was informed they would go source (online look for) the part. I was left waiting with no call or info for several hours. I finally called their service office to ask what was going on and was told they would have to call me back. So the next day I received a call from Gio who informed me he suggested we have the truck towed to their office while we wait for them to have the part sourced. I asked for a quote and he called back and quoted $400 for a Gilroy towing service. I told him I would get back after talking to my husband. Gio then called and left me a voice mail that stated we owed the Kenworth shop over $758 for their 10 minute service call. I could not believe it and called back to ask why the $180 quote had turned into $758. He said that they now have a two hour minimum on service calls and then his two guys went shopping to Gilroy looking for a part they never found, only to call me later that day and state that they could not source a replacement hose and to come get our part and maybe we could find it. We did go pick up our part, and they suggested we try to find the part. I was so upset by their bill amount and demand that we pay that before they would service our Mack truck. I called and requested to speak with their service department manager or supervisor, they took a message and said Samuel would call me right away. No call for two days. So today I called again and spoke to Samuel. He said to me their road service is a two hour minimum at $180 per hour and then their guys (2 guys) went to Gilroy to look for a part they never found. I expressed great concern and offered to pay the $180 I was quoted for one hour road call. He became rude and demanding and eventually hung up on me after yelling that they do not work on Mack Trucks!! Really very disappointed that they did not tell me this either time I went into their service department: to first make an appointment for oil change, tune up, and safety check; or second to arrange for a road call to remove and replace the burst hydrolic clutch line. This company's service employees and supervisor Samuel, are only going to inflate your bill and not provide services they say they can do. BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS SERVICE DEPARTMENT!! read more
