The mixed drink was bright, floral, and great for the summer heat. The juice was a smaller quantity than expected but otherwise good. We also split a creme brulee which was very tasty. The vanilla bean seeds were well dispersed, the sugar layer had the perfect thickness and crispiness, and the custard consistency was smooth and even. My only comment is I wish it was chilled more so there was greater contrast in temperature between the sugar crust and the custard. The server was very kind and let us stay for hours even as the place got busier. We got to sit out the rain and enjoy some nice drinks

This restaurant deserves a place in the Michelin Guide. It is a small, authentic Parisian bistro that has been around for more than 100 years. The restaurant is personally run by the chef, which adds a special touch to the dining experience. We were a large group, so we ordered a variety of dishes to share. My favorites were the fish, the lamb, and the apple dessert, all of which were outstanding. If you're visiting Paris, this restaurant is absolutely worth trying. Café Mademoiselle was nearby, had a sidewalk full of diners, and I grabbed a table quickly, fearful of getting shut out of lunchtime offerings entirely. I should know better than to order a salad in Paris. Not that they'e bad, simply that they're quite different than California salads. Quite different and not as appealing in my opinion. But another dish was also ordered at my table, an unusual choice for the two of us dining there. It was a special of the day, Araignee de Porc (23€), and not something I'd personally have chosen. It was delicious. French chefs know what to do with this cut of meat (pork) and I was wowed. The salad (Salad Nicoise, 23€) was almost forgotten as the pork dish took center stage. Service here is terse. The restroom is down a steep flight of stairs. The place serves many tourists, and does so in a manner that doesn't inspire one to harbor overly fond memories.
