Family style casual dining. For lunch we had shared plates of eggplant & salad, hake fish, couscous and stewed tomatoes, onion and eggplant (~€30 each). Delicious. We had a nice bottle of Bordeaux to accompany (€35) and some pear cider that was excellent. Papy doesn't work here. It is just the name. Overall, good casual lunch or dinner spot if you are in the area.

Had the yummiest dinner here. I had been out all day and missed an earlier booking I had elsewhere because I was busy doing things and when I made my way back I realized I needed to still grab dinner. I was going to have vegan Vietnamese around the corner then chose Papy aux Fourneaux. I'd never been here before and wandered in at nearly 10p for a table for one. The place was almost completely full but I lucked out and spotted two small vacant tables near the front. I was immediately given one and the service was superb! The wine, food and coffee were all very nice. I asked what to order when I couldn't decide and was going to order a vegetarian option and my server suggested the chicken. I'm so glad she did as I rarely if ever order chicken dishes, and it was fantastic. This place feels like a happy home! A bustling, welcoming, warm, place in the community. I'm so glad I went out on a limb to try something unplanned, it's not my typical behavior while on holiday and it was really quite lovely. I wandered in a couple days later thinking maybe I'd grab lunch and the place was fully booked, I'm grateful to have been able to experience them the evening I came in. I'd suggest a booking just to be on the safe side. A true neighborhood gem.

Fish of the day - sort of from heaven.

Too good to be true. I don't know what else to say, but Papi aux Fourneaux checks off all the boxes. Hole in the wall? Yes Farm to table? Yes Rare commitment to food quality? Yes Non pretentious but also extremely elegant food? Yes Unbelievable food? Yes Fairly priced? Yes Family friendly? Yes Menu that changes weekly based on what's fresh and what the chef wants to cook? Yes Cannot wait to go there again next time in Paris. We were the only foreigners that night and they treated us like family. You even get better prices if you share your food family style. Yum. Negatives: None. Update: Went back a second time and they had a new menu with other amazing food. 100% Confirmed - They really change the menu every week or two!

Chicken with carrots, mushrooms, potatoes in a creamy sauce. Excellent!

My wife and I came here on our final night in Paris. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and food. The restaurant had a very "local" feel and not touristy at all. We ordered the gazpacho, Roasted chicken with mushrooms and carrots, and sable. Everything was excellent. The gazpacho had hints of cucumber, basil, and peppers. The chicken was served in a Le Creuset pot with cream, mushrooms, carrots, and potatoes. It was terrific. The sable had fig and a caramel mousse. We recommend this place to anyone.

    Wine selection was beautiful.

Amazing ambiance with the staff being incredibly kind to non-French speakers. The idea of traditional sharing for dinner was magnificent. Definitely recommend for a unique experience while in Paris.

As we had been traveling all day just to get to Paris for a quick trip, we were famished for something Parisian, ideally bread! In no way did this disappoint. Perfection. Pain au Chocolat Flaky with perfect crumb (holes from the gas between flaky laminated dough layers) and a smidge of chocolate inside. European buttery at its finest. You can't get this in the states. Baguette There is something about getting baguette in France! Warm and thin crispy outside with tender and fluffy crumb inside, and the flavor has the right amount of fermentation and texture is proofed perfectly. Excellente. They serve it in a partial piece of square liner so you can just bite the head off and enjoy while walking down the street.

Had the duck, beef w parsley, noodles, fried rice, 2 kinds of chicken on skewers, and 6 shrimp shumai. Cost a little over 41 euros for a family of 4 (two are little kids aged 5 and 7) and it was nice to enjoy dinner on our patio with a bottle of French red wine from the supermarket. The food was good, no complaints and our 5 year old asked for seconds on the lo mein noodles.

It's a small Chinese restaurant, no frills, but pretty much everything you need. The food is refrigerated and served in giant trays that you can order from through a large glass (kind of like when you buy poultry in the markets). They can heat it up for you if you're eating in, otherwise you can just take it to go pretty easily. I had the Cantonese style fried rice, black mushrooms and chicken, and broccoli. I was pretty pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food, especially because there isn't much good Chinese food in Paris. Everything was pretty much fine... not mindblowing, but just good enough and surprisingly, quite authentic. tldr; authentic Chinese food for a good price -- two dishes is less than 9 euros!
