Something in the front window display caught my eye. I found the most darling little Queen of Sparkles picnic dress. In a place where I no longer feel my sparkle, this dress and the sweet women working here made me feel happy. I've been having a little menty b each day lately, trying to adjust and sometimes a girl just needs her morning run, a latte and a couple new dresses (never mind every walk in closet in the house and additional clothing racks being full). I later checked out the Queen of Sparkles website and noticed this particular dress was on sale, I suppose it doesn't matter- I love supporting small businesses and didn't catch myself trying to look it up online at the time, seeing as though I wanted to wear it to the country clubs 4th of July party a few hours later. If you're looking for something unique and special, I'd highly recommend Cynthia Elliott boutique.

Rerun Resale Marketplace (they're focusing more on the vintage goods vendors in addition to the…read moregreat furniture & home accessories they offer) has a great selection of fantastically priced goods! The owners Dan and Carol are gracious and accommodating, and the same could be said of all the great vendors I've met; each booth is unique with a mixture of vintage, antique and some a bit newer items but primarily vintage. You'll find beautiful decorative home decor, furniture, lighting, and even fun, hand-screened cotton Tees! I have never walked away empty-handed and that includes numerous purchases from AbbyeRose Designs (in the room towards center-right back corner of the store) which stocks Redesign by Prima (brand name): truly gorgeous transfers, stencils, chalk paint (Country Chic brand) and silicone molds to add incredible decorative flourishes to the items those of us who DIY our furniture & accessories, who really enjoy using AbbyeRose Designs goods. Truly, ReRun Resale Marketplace is one of my happy places - I always navigate around twice, in opposite direction, so I don't miss anything. I also go often as their offerings change daily. It's right down the street from Fairview Town Center shopping & Whole Foods, along the same frontage road alongside the 75 North (look for the 1 story gray wooden building, with green "ReRun" signage. The building is situated near outdoor playsets & basketball hoops [separate business] on left of ReRun's big, gravel parking lot). Centrally located, put ReRun on your Happy Place list!

So I made an appointment at the Fairview, TX location with Tina, whose bio on JCP website, says she's been a stylist for 20+ years. There was only one other customer in the shop while I was there and Tina was working on both of us (no complaint about that at all) After the perm was done, she dried my hair and THEN cut it. Never have I had a dry-cut. She cut in what I can only call a frenzy, with dry hair flying everywhere. When she was done, she asked me to check it and I could see the sides were different lengths, as was the back. She dry-cut to 'fix it', and had to do take several attempts to even everything up, but I still came away with one side shorter than the others over my ears. She was nice enough, but seemed to rush through everything. And I don't think she left the neutralizer on long enough or it was a bad brand of perm because now that I'm home, it hardly looks/feels like I had a perm. I would never go back to her and would caution anyone who likes their hair evenly cut, to reconsider it. I should say, I've had many MANY perms over the last 40 years and I know what it should look like and feel like, and this isn't it. I feel like I just flushed $135 and half of my hair down the drain. Very disappointing.
