    Menu-New concept
    Delia S.

This used to be one of my go-to spots for a sleek environment, great crowd, and the icing on the cake were the thoughtful, creative, and innovative cocktails. I would always bring friends from out of town. Now the concept has changed directions to a less-sophisticated establishment. But perhaps this is a smart business move to compete with some of the other bars sporting neon lights and bright colors. For me the problem is not the change but that the quality of cocktails have suffered in the process. No longer are the cocktails the star of the show. Now its limited menu caters to more of a younger crowd. Say goodbye to Sazeracs and hello to jello shots! I ordered a Thank You for Smoking, but unfortunately, I had to send it back because I could literally taste the chemicals from whatever equipment was used to smoke it. On the up side, the staff are great and made me an old fashioned, which was acceptable.

I came to check out the new back drop/ changes.. I hate going to a bar where the staff is having a better time than me when I'm the one looking for a good time & I'm spending money.. I won't say everyone was doing that but my waitress definitely wasn't focused.. one bar tender was really cool.. he seemed to be ambitious and will probably be a bar tender legend one day.. I got a lemon drop it didn't taste like anything tho honestly.. the Jell-O shot were the highlight because they put pop rocks on it( I grinned and giggled because of the popping) Their menu is very small and very peculiar.. eat before you go pretty much. They feeding ppl hit pockets and baby shower meat balls..I'll give it a second chance because my drink was so cute they will make whatever you think of..and I did fall in love with the first paper doll experience

My first time back since Paperdoll rebranded to POP, and I'm happy to say it still has the same vibe I loved. Even for a Saturday night, it wasn't really busy -- which was actually nice. We sat at the bar (always a good idea in my opinion), and the service was pretty good. The music selections really elevated the night, and the star of the show was the pomegranate martini -- their take on a pornstar martini -- so yummy! I had 5 drinks for about $40, which was wonderful, and they were strong! Definitely planning to return soon

A Taylor Swift pillow but don't expect them to allow you to actually play Taylor.

Paper Doll Pop is a joke. Yeah, the drinks slap, but the service is absolute garbage. I had to sit there waving my damn hand like I was trying to order tater tots in a high school cafeteria just to get the bartender's attention. My server was apparently living in Narnia or hiding in the back room for 20 minutes at a time. And don't get me started on the music. They hype up this app where you get to pick the songs, but then the staff hijacks it to play their own lame playlist while my songs' music videos are still playing on the TVs like some kind of bad lip-sync battle. What's the point? It's messy, it's lazy, and it's unprofessional. Drinks alone don't save a place that runs like a Dollar Tree knockoff nightclub. ON TOP OF THAT I requested a Taylor Swift song they didn't allow to play yet they have Taylor pillows as part of their aesthetic.

The best ambiance in town -- perfect for a girls night, date night, or a casual drink. The bartenders are friendly and knowledgable, the drinks are strong and unique, and the vibe is immaculate. This is definitely an Instagram worthy bar. I also had the pleasure of attending a rose tasting class in their "back room" area. I highly recommend the experience for any large groups, companies, etc.

Paper Doll is one of my favorite bars to come to! I always take my friends/family here when they come into town. Great French 75 and other drinks as well. Going on a week night is more my style because it is much quieter for a first date or just going to relax and get a little drinky drink!

I was here last night to hang out with friends after work. When I walked in, I wasn't immediately greeted and it was not a lot of people inside so that wasn't good. However, once I went to the bar, the bartender did ask if he could get me something. This bar is decorated nicely and has a cool vibe. I'd probably come back.

The White Winter Negroni! (The drink is actually clear but the light is reflecting off the gold decor behind it.)

This nice, upscale bar has yet to disappoint. I like how at certain times you can just walk in and find your own seating. You can either walk to the bar and place your order or if you're seated they'll come to you and like most bars you can leave you tab open. On my last two visits I've ordered Queen's Navy which is a gin cocktail with lemon juice, orgeat, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Very nice and smooth going down and is on the sweet side. I also had the Elder-Bramble last night and it was good too but not something I'd go back too. Overall service is nice and quick. The atmosphere is relaxing with dimmed lights and upscale decor. I've never gone too late when they're busy so it's usually quiet so that you can converse.

The menu is online, but I cannot easily read it. The software does not make it easy to expand the menu to see the contents. We are leaving. It is too frustrating.

Paper Doll is one of the best bars in Birmingham. They serve up creative craft cocktails in a gorgeous atmosphere and the staff is always friendly and on point. I like that they remember me when I come in which is (sadly) not every week. It's a wonderful place for happy hour with friends or for a date. They're not really about the food but they do an amazing charcuterie board which I highly recommend.

This is a pretty cool bar. I'm not sure why I don't come here more often. They have a huge selection of cocktails. I didn't drink but tried some of my friend Adam's drink. Winter something. It was delicious! I'm definitely getting it if I come back here. My friends and I shared their cheese board that also included meats, crackers, olives, and okra. It was a really fun time!

Absolutely fantastic cocktail bar in downtown Birmingham. They have an incredible selection of creative concoctions and if you don't see anything you like, the bartender can whip something up to your specifications. The atmosphere may be upscale, but the prices are very reasonable. Every drink I had was unique as it was delicious. I came on a slow Wednesday night, but there's lots of space to hang out and relax by yourself or with a group of friends. Shout-out to the bartender, Brent, for going above and beyond. Really enjoyed talking to him and he made sure I got home safe after a fair few drinks. Definitely going to the Paper Doll next time I'm in downtown. Cheers!

They have a food truck that I've heard wonderful things about and I ordered the chicken Caesar salad. It was almost like a chopped Caesar salad and it was just the right amount for a small girl dinner. If you like Parmesan cheese, this is a must order as they do not skimp on that! What was really nice however was that you couldn't tell the food was from a food truck. It was great quality and you are able to order from inside the bar and they deliver it to you. That was a great service. I can't quite remember which cocktail I got, but it was very delicious and at one point the server had even given me a new chilled glass so my drink would remain cold as I sipped on it. This is definitely a great date night spot or just a place to grab a drink with friends, definitely a little more upscale as we were there in the evening, so the lights were dim. I won't drop my rating as it's spring time in the South but I remember being cold immediately as I walked in- but that's typical for a lot of places.

The bar area is very inviting and fun to be able to watch your drinks being made and upstairs offers a more private area. When not seated at the bar they do have someone to come around to make sure you have what you need. The servers are very nice and tend to remember you, which is a great feeling. The menu rotates seasonally, which makes it easier to try new things. My favorite menu item so far has been the cheeseball that was on the menu around Christmas time. It had a great flavor served with crackers the only thing is when we came back after the first of the year it wasn't on the menu anymore. On my most recent visit I had the queso which also had great flavor, served with blue corn tortilla chips. When it comes to the drinks I like how on the menu they let you know how strong it is using toucans. Many of the drinks feature rum, but they do still offer some gin and tequila options. Everything I've had has been good and something I would try again. I would like to note that many of the drinks are fruity and can be somewhat sweet. At Christmas time they even had holiday themed drinkware which I felt was a nice touch. If you are not a drinker, they also have options for mocktails. Which has been great for me the last couple of months. I didn't care for the Phony Negroni, but I think Negroni itself might be an acquired taste

The menu varies so don't expect this menu when you go. The smash burger is dependable and good. The duck fries are pretty awesome, but they seem to be super enthused about their house seasoning, almost to the point of obliteration! It's good; They just need to be a little more judicious with it. Pictured are the noteworthy Brussel sprouts: "$10 BRUSSELS' SPROUTS Red wine balsamic glaze, Agrodolce pearl onions, scallions, fried garlic " You can also have them topped with grilled chicken for a few bucks more. Can Brussels be overcooked? Apparently not. These aren't as charred as the photo suggests. The red wine / balsamic reduction adds a lot of color to them. They may look charred but there's no burned taste in the flavor. I know, those poor little Brussels look overwhelmed, but they're not. They were good in my mouth and belly. We went very early one Saturday and were the only people in there -- but I won't hold this against them at all, as we are always early birds. The staff were all hanging out in a booth near the door. One bartender eagerly jumped up to help us, but the rest seemed pretty inconvenienced by our presence. Our bartender was great -- very personable and knowledgeable. That's about the only redeeming factor. The menus were tattered and sticky, bar itself was kinda gross, lipstick marks on our glasses, and our drinks were subpar at best. I believe the theme when we went was something about Italy, so there was a lot of potential for creative drinks, but they all seemed pretty uninspired -- think limoncello, Negronis, etc.. Also, some weird blue frozen one, but I can appreciate catering to every crowd! We probably won't be back.
