This was on a Sunday, yet he was open, kind, and fully present. When the replacement valve finally arrived from Kohler and I started the work, I reached out with a couple of questions. Peter responded right away, gave clear direction, and even called me as soon as he could to talk me through the next steps. He also offered his cell number and told me to FaceTime him if I needed help during the install. The level of goodwill, professionalism, and genuine care was incredible. This is a review for estimate only. We did not have repair work done. We called to get an estimate for what seemed like a fairly straightforward repair of a leak. It turned into suggestions for major repairs including replacing all of our home's plumbing for roughly $31,000. Needless to say we got a second opinion from another reputable local plumber & we do not in fact need new plumbing. He is able to fix the original problem & replace our pressure regulator for $1000. They stand by their work with any issues resolved with the sort of reasonable dialogue you hope from a service team handling the most necessary of systems. We had a good deal of work done after moving back home post-fire and all of the project recommendations and repairs were prefaced with a detailed explanations, including video and photographic proof. The team is also polite, friendly and respect your property while working (I really appreciated they didn't have to be asked to put on booties before entering the home.) Papa's Plumbing did a job in my neighborhood and they distributed flyers in the neighborhood to call for an estimate. I called to make an appointment. The first time I called for an estimate, they had a van two houses down the street and they said they would call me later to see if they had time to swing by to give me an estimate. They never called. I called back and made an appointment today for a window between 10am-12pm and they never came and never called to say they would be late. I called to cancel the appointment all together because I feel that was unprofessional. I would have appreciated a call to say they were delayed or on the way. read more

I called this company because of a clogged toilet that I could not undo with the plunger. Cesar not only fixed the toilet, but repaired the sink stopper that had been defective without making me run to the shop and buy new parts. I had Papa's Plumbing come by a couple of years back to hydrojet the sewer line because they had a coupon offer. Ulisses was kind and knowledgeable but upon every single excavation he found a new problem no other plumber had found before. I'm sure the pipes weren't in great condition because the estimate to fix them was $11,000. It seemed very urgent at first but when I agreed to the work the guys left and said they'd come back the next day and also told me not to ask any other companies for quotes. I kinda hope I had! My wife needed to find a plumber in the Los Angeles area to address several problems at her family homestead in Boyle Heights. We had the good fortune of having Elias Flores as the lead plumber to handle a few simple repairs: clogged bathtub, clogged kitchen sink, and a damaged toilet fill seal. He was able to correct all of these problems and clean up the mess that was caused by the backups. Elias kept my wife informed of the progress on the jobs and provided assistance to a relative living in the house on how to avoid future problems. Unfortunately, there was even bigger problems lurking beneath the 100+ year old house that if not get corrected would continue to lead to a repeat of the backups. In short, the waste/sewer lines were in such disrepair and damage that the portion under the house as well as the main line leading to the City sewer would have to be replaced. Elias proceeded to formulate a step-by-step plan to correct the problem and discussed each step with my wife at length so that she would have a thorough understanding of the process. He also sent us photos of the work as well as videos from the camera used to map out and validate the scope of work that was necessary. Elias' methods demonstrated that he has outstanding customer care and service skills and is willing to go the extra mile to facilitate customer satisfaction. He was very personable. I almost never do this, but I feel it's important to warn others about the experience that I had with Papa's Plumbing. We've worked with them before, and I accepted their high pressure sales tactics and above average pricing because I thought they performed quality work, at least. Recently I had an experience where that was very much not the case. We have an ejector pump at the bottom of our home that overflowed. It was after hours and because of previous pipe replacement with Papa's Plumbing and associated warrantee requirements, we called them first. A technician came out and explained that the backup was likely due to a clog, probably near the sewer line, and it would require a hydro jet to clear. I agreed to the service. They came back first thing the next morning and performed the hydro jet so that the system would in theory work again. However, the technician pulled me aside and explained that the reason for the backup was a cracked sewer line with root intrusion. In addition, the pump was broken because it had been trying and failing to pump water out for hours. He proposed a truly outrageously expensive "premium" fix for the sewer line and a double pump system. I was surprised at the numbers being discussed and asked him to give me my cheapest option. He gave a smaller but still very alarming price to replace the broken pump as a short term fix. Not feeling comfortable, I told him I wanted another opinion. After waiting all day without being able to use any water, a second plumbing company arrived. What happened next shocked me (and them). When they looked at the pump system, they found that the problem was in fact a valve that had been turned into the off position. When they simply turned the valve 90 degrees, the water cleared out of the reservoir and the pump was working perfectly. The plumbers literally shook their heads in disbelief at the fact that I was quoted an expensive fix. It somehow gets worse. I had another plumber come and check the sewer line. He showed me the video as he snaked the line and found there were NO ISSUES with the sewer line at all. It was completed fine--no cracks, no roots, nothing. I've learned you must always ask for the sewer line video. Never take their word for it. The valve may have been an honest--albeit incompetent--mistake that could have cost me many thousands of dollars, or perhaps not an honest mistake at all. Regardless, I do not know how to explain the sewer line proposal for many tens of thousands of dollars for an exceedingly expensive fix of a system that needed no repair at all. This is just not right. I've really lost faith in humanity after this experience. Papa's plumbing offered to pay me $100 to cover the cost of the 2nd plumber who turned the valve on, which I accepted. But since finding out about the sewer line dishonesty, I have no choice but to leave this review. PLEASE BE CAREFUL IF YOU'RE LOOKING FOR PLUMBING SERVICES AND GET SEVERAL QUOTES, NO MATTER HOW URGENT. read more
